Older twinks

Is there such a thing? Have you ever seen men who look very young and even appear unusually boyish over the age of 30? Twinks are usually associated with young men 18-25.

by Anonymousreply 68June 10, 2018 1:28 PM

Twinkosaurus.

by Anonymousreply 1June 8, 2018 11:50 PM

No, honey.... NO, NO, NO! After a certain age, (and I don't care how fit you are and/or how young you look), but you have to conduct yourself like an adult and not like a young Miss Thing everyone in the room wants to fuck.

by Anonymousreply 2June 8, 2018 11:54 PM

I admire men over forty who work out and keep themselves in shape and don't let themselves go. That is why the the stereotyping of older men is ridiculous. Many older men look way better than their peers and the younger plainer people who mock them. The strangest 40+ guys are pretentious slobs in that age group who become imperious and entitled about who is supposed to be attracted to them as if attractiveness is all about attitude. They always lie about their age and stalk young guys.

by Anonymousreply 3June 9, 2018 12:06 AM

I’m in my 60s but still get mistaken for a high school student!

by Anonymousreply 4June 9, 2018 12:08 AM

One is either a twink or not one. An “older twink” is an oxymoron. It’s the age range of 18-25.

by Anonymousreply 5June 9, 2018 12:13 AM

It's about the level of confidence. After a certain age one should begin to depend upon less on their looks--even if you still look dynamic, and concentrate on building some substance.

by Anonymousreply 6June 9, 2018 12:17 AM

Agree with r6. Around age 25 you should be experienced and confident enough to get by on more than your youth.

by Anonymousreply 7June 9, 2018 12:20 AM

"I am 48 and still get mistaken for early 30s. I work out regularly, get my hair professionally dyed, a little bit of botox and I avoid the sun. "

"I always looked young for my age. I worked out and starved myself to keep my waste [SIC] at 30 inches. But when I hit 55 it all fell apart and suddenly I looked like an old man. I started eating again and now at 62 I am plump, single, invisible to other gays but finally happy."

"I was gorgeous when I was younger and men hit on me all the time. I got married when I was 37 though and since my husband is 57, I stopped caring so much."

by Anonymousreply 8June 9, 2018 12:22 AM

If the shoe fits!

by Anonymousreply 9June 9, 2018 12:24 AM

You'll never look better than you do at 35.

by Anonymousreply 10June 9, 2018 12:26 AM
You'll never look better than you do at 35.

I SO DISAGREE!

by Anonymousreply 11June 9, 2018 12:27 AM

45 is the new 35 ..

by Anonymousreply 12June 9, 2018 12:27 AM

R9: Yes, he's a fine example.

by Anonymousreply 13June 9, 2018 12:31 AM

I looked my best from 33 to 35.

All downhill from there.

by Anonymousreply 14June 9, 2018 12:43 AM

I said good r11. I didn't say twinkish.

Same here r14, but I'm more muscular now.

by Anonymousreply 15June 9, 2018 12:44 AM

I was very obese at age thirty-five. After that, I lost a lot of weight exercised regularly and looked my best when I was 40 -42.

by Anonymousreply 16June 9, 2018 12:47 AM

Good for you r16. Did you still have your hair?

by Anonymousreply 17June 9, 2018 12:52 AM

At my retirement party last month, my coworkers - bless their hearts - were so confused about my youthful appearance that they thought it was my bar mitzvah!

by Anonymousreply 18June 9, 2018 12:53 AM

How was your Hebrew all these years later?

by Anonymousreply 19June 9, 2018 12:54 AM

Oh, geesh.... Another DL thread lamenting that; "I'm no longer 24..."

I'm 57 and I'm having the BEST years of my life. I work to keep fit, muscular, and fabulous. I know what I like and what I want but more importantly, I know what I don't like and what I don't want. I'm hit on by those in their 20's, 30's, 40's but I'm quite happy with my 33 year old boyfriend. I have NO desire at all to be 20 something ever again. I've been there and I have done that. Nor do I look at younger men with envy. I look forward to each new day and try to live it to the fullest.

by Anonymousreply 20June 9, 2018 12:54 AM

R17 Receding but I had it trimmed short so It looked reasonable. I wasn't hot or anything like that.

by Anonymousreply 21June 9, 2018 12:55 AM

You sound hot enough to me r21. But I was never one for twinks, even when I was a twink. I've always been attracted to older, hairier, more robust guys. And now that I'm an older, hairier, more robust guy, the young Asian types won't leave me alone.

by Anonymousreply 22June 9, 2018 1:00 AM

I let guys older than me play with me sometimes, as long as they're not evil.

by Anonymousreply 23June 9, 2018 1:03 AM

I’m 39 and still look like I’m about 26 or 27. My family has really good “genetics” (if you discount the high blood pressure, alcoholism, and anxiety and depression), we all look much younger than we are. My aunt is in her early 90s but she looks late 70s.

I have noticed as I age, though, it’s harder to keep my under-chin fat under control, and my eyes look tired unless I have a sunburn/tan, and I’ve just about *had it* with the crease above my nose from furrowing my brow. I definitely looked cuter 10 years ago.

Other than that, I look very young and my interests are those of a 17-year-old. I have no interest in actual twinks, though.

by Anonymousreply 24June 9, 2018 1:08 AM

R19, we didn't have a Torah at the office, so I read a few paragraphs from the Policies and Procedures Manual. Instead of tefillin, I attached some binder clips to my arms.

by Anonymousreply 25June 9, 2018 1:23 AM

Ha ha r25

Is r24 a parody post?

by Anonymousreply 26June 9, 2018 5:29 AM

They say 50 is the new 30.

Apparently bullshit is the new honesty.......

by Anonymousreply 27June 9, 2018 5:59 AM

Aren't they called 'Twonks'?

by Anonymousreply 28June 9, 2018 6:00 AM

Old guys have Viagra now.

by Anonymousreply 29June 9, 2018 6:08 AM

OP? No, just no.

by Anonymousreply 30June 9, 2018 6:12 AM

45 is the new 17!!

by Anonymousreply 31June 9, 2018 6:18 AM

17 is the new PIZZAGATE!

by Anonymousreply 32June 9, 2018 6:25 AM

Of course you do r4 (*eye roll*).

by Anonymousreply 33June 9, 2018 6:30 AM

I'm 40 and look 4 ! !

by Anonymousreply 34June 9, 2018 6:33 AM

What do you mean or how do you define evil r23?

by Anonymousreply 35June 9, 2018 6:34 AM

I'm 28 and because of being tall, slim, with mostly great skin, I can still 'fool' others into thinking I'm an early 20s 'twink'.

But only if I'm shaved, haircut, contacts on (probably; instead of glasses?), on a better dieting week or so, and depending on clothing. That is, I could appear to be a high school senior like actors do/try to, but only if I really put that effort in.

I normally don't put in that effort, so I still look mid-to-late 20s, and otherwise 'twinkISH'.

When I really let my youth appearance go, I can look early 30s (facial hair, gaining some pounds, etc). And I fully accept that within a few years, nothing twink will be left of me, but I'll still be glad because there's so many appearance 'openings' for me to just be a handsome adult in my 30s.

by Anonymousreply 36June 9, 2018 6:36 AM

So glad I'm not under 30 anymore. I know I sounded as bad as that, probably worse..

by Anonymousreply 37June 9, 2018 6:40 AM

R36, you could have had a role on Glee! (28 but in the role of a high school senior.)

by Anonymousreply 38June 9, 2018 6:42 AM

That's the spirit r36.

by Anonymousreply 39June 9, 2018 6:45 AM

Glen Campbell and Jon Voight looked like twinks until middle age and drugs caught up with them.

by Anonymousreply 40June 9, 2018 1:08 PM

R28: I've heard of "twunks" (muscular twinks) but not "twonks".

by Anonymousreply 41June 9, 2018 2:20 PM

A 40 year old like Matt Bomer might well outshine any think in the room.

by Anonymousreply 42June 9, 2018 2:49 PM

If that chick on Younger with Debi Mazar and Hillary Duff can do it, so can we!

by Anonymousreply 43June 9, 2018 2:50 PM
I’m in my 60s but still get mistaken for a high school [bold]teacher[/bold]!

Fixed that for ya, R4.

by Anonymousreply 44June 9, 2018 2:50 PM

I love R25’s sense of humor!

by Anonymousreply 45June 9, 2018 2:51 PM

The term twink expires when one is legally allowed to drink in my opinion. Someone is not a 25 or 30 year old twink. 21 is the cutoff.

by Anonymousreply 46June 9, 2018 2:55 PM

Yeah, cuz if life doesn’t age you, the booze certainly will.^

by Anonymousreply 47June 9, 2018 3:04 PM

While we’re on the topic, how did the word twink come about? What is it a combination of?

by Anonymousreply 48June 9, 2018 3:22 PM

Their shaved buttholes twinkle like little pink stars, Rose/r48.

by Anonymousreply 49June 9, 2018 3:53 PM
The term twink expires when one is legally allowed to drink in my opinion. Someone is not a 25 or 30 year old twink. 21 is the cutoff.

But then that would vary depending on what part of the world you're in. I went for holidays once in Canada and could drink at 19.

by Anonymousreply 50June 9, 2018 3:57 PM

#46 is right. Just invent a new word that means "older boyish bottom". God knows we love the labels.

I’m serious, R49. A “tween” would be someone between teens and 20s. Where did “twink” come from?

R46. Is the 21 drinking across the USA or just some states?

But someone can own a gun, join the army at 18? Or 16?

In marriage at 12 or 14 still possible in southern states?

by Anonymousreply 54June 9, 2018 4:55 PM

To my knowledge r54 there were only one or two southern states where girls could marry with their parents' permission at age 12. I believe this age limit has been raised since the 1960s. My source is the World Almanac. One can join the army at 18 and in some states a learner's permit for driving can be given at age 15 or 16. I'm not sure if 21 is the legal "drinking age" across the US or not. I have read and heard for years that the concept of a "drinking age" is strange to many Europeans. I'm not sure about gun ownership for minors, but if you join the army at 18, you certainly will be learning how to handle guns of many types, I'm sure.

by Anonymousreply 55June 9, 2018 6:18 PM

R54, while each state has its own drinking age statutes, in the US all 50 states are age 21.

by Anonymousreply 56June 9, 2018 7:23 PM

The Wikipedia page for "Twink" is surprisingly informative, R48.

by Anonymousreply 57June 9, 2018 7:55 PM

It is, R57, but even it isn’t sure of the origins of the term. Figure it wouldn’t be that unreasonable to ask some fellow gays.

by Anonymousreply 58June 9, 2018 7:58 PM

2 cute college boys out for a ride.

Twinkossaurus, like the crocodile, a survivor still going strong. Fuck the ice age!

by Anonymousreply 60June 9, 2018 10:25 PM

Twonk, old twink.

by Anonymousreply 61June 9, 2018 11:31 PM

Twonk, not to be confused with twunk.

by Anonymousreply 62June 9, 2018 11:31 PM

Why do so many of you feel the need to brag about your looks on an anonymous text-based message board?

by Anonymousreply 63June 9, 2018 11:35 PM

^^Don't get us started on how big our schlongs are.

by Anonymousreply 64June 10, 2018 12:08 AM

Or our retirement savings, in the millions.

by Anonymousreply 65June 10, 2018 12:24 AM

Millions, R65?

Pfft, you ain’t saved, gurl! We’re talking Billions, here!

by Anonymousreply 66June 10, 2018 9:19 AM

Because, R63, they couldn't get away with anything if there were pictures involved.

by Anonymousreply 67June 10, 2018 12:04 PM

So Timothee Chalamet is no longer a twink, r46?
