I blame his ridiculous last name.
Alden Ehrenreich’s movie career is now over
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 16, 2018 2:03 AM |
That’s ok. Now he can be my full-time husband.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 2, 2018 3:25 PM |
Good, I heard he was hand picked by Speilberg. Something about the way he thrusted on us, above much hotter actors really erked me.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 2, 2018 3:27 PM |
yay!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 2, 2018 6:40 PM |
Maybe it's because his face looks like a butt.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 2, 2018 6:42 PM |
Is this person Datalounge’s new obsession? Has he replaced Timothee? Do we need to FF the thousands of threads started by this new troll?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 2, 2018 6:43 PM |
I saw him in the vastly overrated piece of Coen shit Hail Caesar and the Warren Beatty flop. In both, he was totally underwhelming, zero charisma, zero talent.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 2, 2018 6:46 PM |
Spielberg gave him a push because he's a nice Jewish boy and Spielberg is forever looking for the new Richard Dreyfuss.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 2, 2018 6:50 PM |
r7 He has oodles of charisma in Hail Caesar! I'm sorry but you're just dead wrong on that one. That role is exactly why everyone keeps asking why his Han Solo wasn't as charismatic. Turns out, the Caesar role was just a lucky aberration and his default setting is blandness personified.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 2, 2018 6:58 PM |
He's very handsome, and a competent actor. But he was [italic]so[/italic] not the right actor to play Han Solo, and Ron "Play It Safe" Howard was [italic]so[/italic] not the right person to direct that movie. And the studio [italic]so[/italic] needed to stagger the releases of the Star Wars movies more--there's been far too much of a glut of them.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 2, 2018 7:03 PM |
R10 Ron Howard was brought in when shooting was almost over to try to deal with the mess the original directors Lord & Miller had created.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 2, 2018 7:17 PM |
He is boring-unattractive. One of the reasons that movie did not do well.
At least Brandon Routh was good looking.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 2, 2018 7:23 PM |
Brandon Routh's lone fan has returned.
Alden is cute and was good in the otherwisehorrible Hail Caesar but does not have the height or charisma to play Han. They should have made the movie about Lando and had more Donald glover.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 2, 2018 7:44 PM |
Nah, people will be sympathetic- this mess wasn’t his fault- and give him work. He hasn’t complained, he’s done all the junket crap, and is a team player.
And r7 is laughably wrong. He’s great in Hail Caesar! Haven’t seen him in anything else so that role may be a fluke, but he’s terrific in it.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 2, 2018 7:58 PM |
He's so short. Were movie goers supposed to believe he grew a foot in adulthood? I would say we thought he shrunk but we saw older, taller Han for the first time forty years ago, so it's confusing.
I was so excited for Hail, Caesar because of it's pedigree but BOY was that a disappointment.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 2, 2018 8:44 PM |
Try as I may, I do not see ANYTHING unattractive about him. DL consensus once again off the mark.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 2, 2018 8:46 PM |
I once thought his career was over before it started when Coppola's TETRO came out. And that was almost a decade ago.
"We will never stop trying to make Alden Ehrenreich happen!" vows Hollywood's Power Brokers.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 2, 2018 9:06 PM |
Good riddance. He's box office poison.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 2, 2018 9:09 PM |
Dang, he doesn’t look nearly this hot in the movie!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 2, 2018 9:13 PM |
He's wonderful in the movie, actually. I remember looking him up after seeing him in BLUE JASMINE. I knew he'd be a star then.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 2, 2018 9:16 PM |
He's officially 5' 9" (which probably means 5'7") but super cute. Just kind of "beige on stage," or in this case, zzzzzzz on screen, at least as a leading man.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 2, 2018 9:20 PM |
[QUOTE]I remember looking him up after seeing him in BLUE JASMINE. I knew he'd be a star then.
I have absolutely ZERO recollection of him in BLUE JASMINE.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 2, 2018 9:23 PM |
They shoulda used Taron Egerton for Han Solo. He's got that je ne sais quoi, at least in my eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 2, 2018 9:25 PM |
R23, no, Han Solo needs to be a top, hence Alden. Pillow muncher Taron has other opportunities.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 2, 2018 9:27 PM |
Did he suck spielbergs shmeckle?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 2, 2018 9:27 PM |
He's completely boring and that name is one that nobody can remember.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 2, 2018 9:29 PM |
in BLUE JASMINE, he has one short scene at the end, he's Cate Blanchett's abandoned son. He's marvelous in a small role.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 2, 2018 9:42 PM |
Has Alden bared his butt onscreen?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 2, 2018 9:45 PM |
No, but he's already gone thru being sodomized by big wigs in the business, hence his career.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 2, 2018 9:48 PM |
Just being good looking and taking it up the ass from Spielberg no longer guarantees you a movie career. Sorry.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 2, 2018 9:51 PM |
Taron is even shorter...
Although I'm not happy with the news he is height challenged I like Alden but this is the first Stars Wars film I have no desire to see in theaters...
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 2, 2018 10:24 PM |
Don't forget Chewbacca's movie career is also over. Damn you, Alden!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 2, 2018 10:51 PM |
Who are these males upset a dude is short? Fem bottoms? Submissives? Weird
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 2, 2018 10:53 PM |
Sorry. I just like tall guys. Nothing personal. I just don't want to fuck you.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 2, 2018 10:55 PM |
lol, true R26!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 2, 2018 10:57 PM |
R34, no worries, man, I don’t even befriend or associate with nasty effeminates.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 2, 2018 10:59 PM |
He should have played "Oliver" in CMBYN. He would have been more age-appropriate.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 2, 2018 11:01 PM |
Nice pic
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 2, 2018 11:02 PM |
R37, maybe he’s a Never Nude.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 2, 2018 11:02 PM |
So did he have a "special" relationship with Spielberg like Shia LaBeouf?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 2, 2018 11:05 PM |
I was listening to Marc Marons podcast with Josh Brolin. They are talking about Brolins career and, I guess he did hail Caesar with Ehrenreich. Suddenly Brolin starts talking about what a fantastic actor Ehrenreich is, how fantastic he was in the movie, how he's going to be a big star. It was a weird tangent. I guess the powers that be anointed him a star and every one fell in line.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 2, 2018 11:29 PM |
His eyes look like a couple of piss holes in snow.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 3, 2018 12:02 AM |
I find his eyes alluring, and almost pretty R42.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 3, 2018 2:15 AM |
R33 - I initially brought up that he was 5' 9" officially but prob 5'7" in reality, but that was not a strike on him...it's a plus. I am 5' 8" and I love 'em short. Taller than 5'10" is actually a bummer for me.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 3, 2018 2:25 AM |
Solo is a 2-for-1
Let's hope it ends both Alden and Emilia Clarke's movie careers.
Bonus points for derailing Opie's comeback as a director .
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 3, 2018 9:18 AM |
I feel for him. I really do.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 3, 2018 9:22 AM |
According to IMDB he has no work lined up. I wonder if he'll be able to bounce back from that disaster that was Solo.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 16, 2018 1:18 AM |
Is he too old for Sean Cody?
