I don't get it. He was that lesbian's boyfriend or husband or something.
Why did David Garrison really leave Married With Children?

Or maybe he felt the show would sink like the Titanic.....oh, wait.

He returned as a guest star a few seasons later so I'm guessing it was amicable. He's a theatre actor...maybe he got tired of sitcomland.

It was his decision to leave the show.
I think the best season was the one after he left, Season 5. The next season the show really jumped the shark and never recovered fully.

He was on a short-lived show after MWC. While his character could be really funny the men in the audience jeered him because his character was nicer and more civil than Al. I don't know if that was a factor, but he was a cutie and he and Ed O'Neill were good together.

He hated LA and wanted to return to his beloved NYC and the stage.

He was really funny as the exasperated target of Jason Bateman’s hijinks on the show “It’s Your Move.”
I loved his interactions with Marcy on MWC. But Ted McGinley was pretty funny, too.

R4 and r6, I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds him attractive.

He really was pretty cute. Beautiful eyes. AND he was genuinely funny. Maybe he just didn't want to keep playing the same character day after day. I'd imagine that would be exhausting after awhile, especially for a character actor like him. Still, I've been told that it's every actor's dream to land a sitcom, because the hours are good, the pay is steady, and you can still have a life instead of being on a film set for 16 hrs every day. I guess theatre is the same way, but I don't think the pay is as good.

I loved him on the show but when he left and Ted McGinley came in it was actually pretty refreshing to throw a new character into the mix.

Ted McGinley was hotter than hell. David, meh.

I loved them both.

Oddly, my first sex dream was about David Garrison when I was about 13, he had a beautiful chest of hair, which I don't think was true in real life.

I don’t understand why actors who are getting paid more per episode than some people make in a year just can’t suck it up and bank up a nice nest egg for the run of their show. Being on a hit show is like winning the lottery. Many actors never make it and many who do fade away back into obscurity, may as well fade away a rich bitch.
