No-one's ever talked about it before, he says. I doubt that.

Using Will Smith as a shield to protect himself, as usual.

Jonathan Harris was married to a woman for 64 years.

June and Jonathan did NOT get along. You can tell in that interview she doesn't think much of him. Guy Williams also hated him.

The issue with June and Guy was clearly the second banana stole the show and they couldn't get it back.

If you go by this June Lockhart interview, Harris is flamboyantly Matronly. DL may want to reconsider Harris' Sainthood.

You clinking, clanking can of coligenous junk!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 6, 2018 4:32 PM |
OP's Youtube title is misleading, June doesn't confirm Harris is gay.

Nickel-plated nincompoop! Juvenile junkpile! Clattering clown!

R16 seems like the “reporter” is trying to get her to spill some info and she doesn’t really bite. Some will say her denial is confirmation. But he does ping from outer space, appropriately.

He's (the host) refering to the character being gay--not the actor.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 6, 2018 9:05 PM |
R14, that's actually from the Wizard of Oz.
But it's similar.

He claimed to regret Guy's resentment and distance or is he being a phony actor who took great delight in falling into a pot of jam feeling William's bitterness toward him was worth it?

R24 he genuinely felt bad about he, Bill Mumy and the Robot becoming the stars of the show. He tried for years to fix things between them but when that failed he just kept his distance, even having his table at conventions far away from them so not to piss them off further, because he was the most popular member of the cast.
He respected their talent and felt it was an ensemble show and always saw his character as the villain and comic relief. He didn't like the rest of the characters getting pushed to the background but like most actors in the 60s he was powerless to do anything about it.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 7, 2018 12:40 PM |
Yeah, r25 , tell me about it. It was known to occur from time to time on '60s TV.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 7, 2018 12:59 PM |
He reminds me of the doorman of a seedy little gay bar in Pomona, Ca who would give everyone entering the once-over. If he favored you he would gush and tell you that you reminded him of Sal Mineo or Tab Hunter.

Didn't she say he was the same off screen as on? I think that was her way to confirm it.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 7, 2018 4:00 PM |
Bill Mumy said in an interview once that he was out and proud in the 60s.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 7, 2018 4:03 PM |
[R30] She did indeed. I think the posters who said she dodged the interviewer on that issue missed that comment.
However, I think she was specifically referring to the Queeny behavior and not necessarily declaring he was gay.
Who knows, he might've been one of those very rare Tony Randall types.

Ex-squeeeeze me, r32, not as rare as you may think! Thank Yooooooou!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 7, 2018 4:19 PM |
Sorry, Dr. Smith was one of those rare manly as all get out Dom and Tony types!

She just confirmed all along what Harris has said for many decades, that his whole Britlike persona was an affectation.
Harris, Bil Mumy and Mark Goddard were close friends until Harris' death.

He butched it up in convention gigs and interviews later on.
