RUMOR: Jessica Lange to star in Gary Oldman's "Flying Horse" and Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood"

Rumor circulating town is that Lange is in talks to star opposite Gary Oldman in his second directional effort, "Flying Horse" and has already been cast in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

Apparently so.

Lange is already listed on "Flying Horse"'s imdb page and it on hers, so it sounds like she already signed on.

I’m in if she actually rides a flying horse. I’ll even sit through her self-indulgent singing to see a good CGI Pegasus in motion.

by Anonymousreply 3May 29, 2018 11:17 AM

The story sounds fantastic and YAS to Lange and Oldman working together.

by Anonymousreply 4May 29, 2018 11:19 AM

So, the Flying Horse rumor seems to be turning out to be true. I still can't find anything on Tarantino's project. I mean, it's obvious he loves her (see below), so it's probably true. I can see Tarantino writing Lange a part similar to Jane Fonda's in "Youth".

Go Jessica!

by Anonymousreply 7May 29, 2018 11:40 AM

I would love it if Lange gets to play a Sue Mengers-type agent in OUaTiH.

by Anonymousreply 8May 29, 2018 11:50 AM

Anti-Jewish scum Oldman continues to be rewarded.

by Anonymousreply 9May 29, 2018 12:00 PM

Hi, Matthew, R9.

by Anonymousreply 10May 29, 2018 12:02 PM

R8 That would be amazing.

by Anonymousreply 11May 29, 2018 12:03 PM

R9, tell that to Jewish Robert Dawney Jr. who is rewarded by Marvel but who is best pals with Gibson and helped to rehabilitate him.

by Anonymousreply 12May 29, 2018 12:07 PM

She's playing photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron who, like Lange, turned to photography in her later years after being gifted with a camera by her daughter (Shepard gifted Lange with her Leica she launched her photography).

Tarantino loves him some Lange.

Unless you’re Meryl Streep or Julianne Moore, it’s a rough business for movie actresses older than, say, 28.

TARANTINO: I don’t really know if I’m writing the kind of roles that Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore would play. Jessica Lange on American Horror Story is a little bit more my cup of tea.

R13, Julia died at the age of 63, while Lange is 69. She will be 70 while filming. The casting is weird cause it's not age appropriate.

by Anonymousreply 15May 29, 2018 12:52 PM

R15 And how many times do they do this with the men?

How old was Streep supposed to be in The Post?

by Anonymousreply 16May 29, 2018 12:59 PM

So she fucked Oldman and Tarantino, too. That must be some fierce pussy, because she has spread it all over show business to great benefit.

by Anonymousreply 17May 29, 2018 1:07 PM

R16, but men do not get called out on this as much as women. With Jessica in this role I'm afraid every second critics' comment or viewers' comment will be about Jessica's age and how she's too old instead of her acting.

by Anonymousreply 18May 29, 2018 1:08 PM

Cast as what? What would she play in a Manson movie?? It'd have to be a small role.

OP is responsible for 12 of the responses in this thread. He's the obsessed Lange troll who went on a tirade about how Lange was going to win every award for Feud and started ten million threads about it for a year.

by Anonymousreply 20May 29, 2018 1:16 PM

R20 Hi, Matthew.

by Anonymousreply 21May 29, 2018 1:19 PM

R12 is as ignorant as she is bigoted. DOwney is NOT Jewish.

by Anonymousreply 22May 29, 2018 1:23 PM

R22, Downey's dad is of Jewish stock and Robert identifies more with Judaism himself although he once said he was Jewish-Buddhist. His wife is Jewish. They married in Jewish ceremony. Heck even one of their children has a Hebrew name.

by Anonymousreply 23May 29, 2018 1:32 PM

Can't wait.

by Anonymousreply 24May 29, 2018 2:56 PM

I wonder what Tarantino wrote for her.

by Anonymousreply 25May 29, 2018 7:21 PM

She should have released something this year when I'm taking a year off from The Oscars. She won't stand a chance next year when I open The Laundromat..

by Anonymousreply 26May 29, 2018 7:40 PM

R26 That's right. You're on the 2nd season of that show, Big Huge Things or whatever.

Whatever happened to your Netflix show, The Tick?

by Anonymousreply 27May 29, 2018 7:45 PM

R19, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" takes place around the time of the Manson murders, and covers the events at Cielo Drive, but it is not exclusively about the murders. It's about two struggling showbiz people (played by Leo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt), dealing with an industry that has changed.

by Anonymousreply 28May 30, 2018 1:08 AM

R28 I have a feeling she'll be playing an old school Hollywood diva or agent.

by Anonymousreply 29May 30, 2018 1:36 AM

More Lange.

by Anonymousreply 30May 30, 2018 3:33 AM

It’s weird he said he couldn’t see Julianne Moore in on of his movies. She’s always been great in other edgy directors films. It’s seems like she would be perfect for him to use.

by Anonymousreply 31May 30, 2018 4:15 AM

R18 I don't agree. Lange has gotten raves for every film performance she's given in the last 10 years. The critics are itching for a proper film comeback from her.

R31 To be fair, I think she had just won or was the front runner for "Still Alice", lol.

by Anonymousreply 32May 30, 2018 4:22 AM

Maybe she’ll play Joan again.

by Anonymousreply 33May 30, 2018 5:30 AM

She's playing a cult leader.

by Anonymousreply 34May 30, 2018 5:40 AM

Alas, dears, I had to turn down the role of Sharon Tate in Tarantino’s new film. My schedule won’t permit me to take on the role that would win me my well deserved academy award.

Ms. Lange is no longer listed in the imdb credits for the upcoming "Flying Horse." Was this a premature listing that has since been retracted or did the Lange troll try to pull a fast one on us?
