When a person has an extremely bland and obviously fake facade you wonder what's he really like. With pretty boy actors being in the closet is the obvious answer. Not that it's always the right assumption but it's more probable than the actor being asexual, which is extremely rare.

I worked as a crew member on Season's 3 & 4 of Chicago PD and got to know the cast pretty well. I'm sorry to burst everyone's bubble but the romance indicated here between Jesse & Patrick is just not true. I know it sounds terribly cliche but they are just good friends. There were no gay romances between any of the guys on the show as a matter of fact. Not that I ever saw or heard about anyway.

I find it hilarious when people who briefly meet an actor, of all people, proudly announce how the actor can't be gay. "I've met him. He's not gay." How the hell would you know? I've had plenty of people in my life who had no idea I'm gay after knowing me for years. If guys like me can appear straight I'm fairly certain a fucking professional actor can do it as well. Sure some people can't hide it, and obviously they don't have to, but some of us just don't act stereotypically gay, in any way.

That said obviously not all actors are gay... just 95% of them. Just kidding, just kidding. Like I commented earlier I wouldn't be surprised if Jesse Lee Soffer was gay or bi. He's got that certain gay je ne sais quoi. Then again you never know.

Um, I didn't get coffee, r83. I was part of the tech crew that did the stunts etc. And I've actually hung out with some of the cast off set including Jesse. So I knew them a little better than you think. And this is just my opinion but I never got the vibe that Jesse is gay. I'm not saying I know for sure 100%, I just never observed anything that would make me think he's gay. I know he dated co-star Sophia Bush while I worked on the show and they seemed very happy together at the time.

R93, there are plenty of "asexual" closet cases still around. If that's what you were referring to. It's still not ok to be out in the industry if you want to maximize your potential as an actor. Obviously not all people that make you wonder are gay. The thing is that I have a soft spot for het guys and I tend to fall for the straight ones that have that special edge to them. You learn to read between the lines and you pick up certain things that make you believe someone might be bi, or even completely gay. Nothing new here obviously. Soffer does have that special something that makes my spidey sense tingle. It doesn't mean he's gay or bi but it's fun to speculate. I totally understand that for some people this kind of speculation seems silly, even if you're not a straight fangurl, but hey, this is Datalounge.
