Wendell and Dom each had five votes, the third finalist had none, so she joined the jury as #11 and cast the deciding vote in favor of Wendell.

Oh my, Michael has a beautiful face. Jeff was right to comment on how much of a unicorn he is for some 18 years old hick or 25 year old dude for that matter. I totally believe he's a Tr*mp supporter though.

I enjoy the eyebrows on fleek that everyone has once they get on the jury. Michael must get his eyebrows done by Anastacia of Beverly Hills because they are perfect. He still has fat feet and ankles and is straight and loves Tr*mp and wants to be a model so I don't want to fuck him. The army lady was so transformed that Dom popped a bone when she walked onto the jury a day later with her hair down and makeup did. Little did he know her inability to make fire cost him a million dollars yet.

The jury interrogation was pretty interesting and I enjoyed them showing us more of it. Donathon was the hero because if he had voted for Laurel, Dom would have won. Can't stand Dom.

Wendell was equally fine in his baggy drawers and with his ASS fattened up at the finale. What a F. I. N. E. man. The finale was much better than the season, pretty good and the right man won.

Wendell looked puffy, too, but not unhealthily so.

Michael is strikingly handsome and well spoken for someone his age, but also he seemed to speak way too much in the live finale compared to other contestants.

Sebastian is probably the strangest looking person I've ever seen on TV.

Chris is still as dumb as a rock. I am grateful that there were two male models this season though. Without them, I'm not sure I would have watched the entire season.

He won the last few immunity challenges, when it was critical for him to do so.

He gave Laurel one of his hidden immunity idols, which clearly weighed heavily at the end of the game.

He won the fire challenge.

He obviously made a case that resonated with the jury.

That's why he won.

Some winners just coast by, until the end. Wendell worked hard, he played a good social game, he played a good physical game, and he played a good mental game.

Sebastian admits to being drunk at the final tribal council and calles Dom a douche who really bullied Donathon. I believe that but Sebastian's a bit dumb, right? He's very forgiving of Angela though. Not all straight men are so fucking alpha as Dom and Wendell. On Wendell it was sexy and balanced with some finer qualities but Dom just came across as a loudmouth overconfident bully. And so he lost. Good. He will never get close to the end again no matter how many times they invite him back to play.

Actually, I think that the real reason Dom didn't win was because he was too nice.

The other East Coast loudmouths who won, like Boston Rob and Tony, were pretty hard core and ruthless. They were just sneaky liars, they didn't care who they stabbed in the back.

R157 I never said they didn’t deserve to be in the finals. It just seemed so clear from early on that they were running everything. The people that would’ve taken them out got eliminated before they could even get situated on the island which was lucky on both of their parts. Wendell def deserved the win.

It was dumb when Laurel tried to big up her game play by saying “they wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for me.” Yeah, because you never made a move!

I suspect Sia’s accountant probably wishes she’d stop watching tv.

I get annoyed when posters say “worse season of Survivor ever!” But aside from some eye candy, they’d be right about this season. It just failed to ignite. There was zero interesting game play. Maybe Survivor should quit at 40. This season the entire thing was just going through the motions.

Too much time was spent on boring visits to Ghost Islsnd instead of showing relationships between contestants. Why did people think Michael & the cute blonde were a power couple? Why did Michael hate Wendell? We didn’t see any of them fishing or swimming or having any fun or adventures at camp. Snooze fest. As much as I hated last season it was at least interesting.

It was a lot easier to simply skip the whole finale than I thought.

Yes r157, I'm not saying Dom or Wendell didn't deserve to win. I am just amazed at the stupidity of players like Laurel after so many seasons of Survivor. It is Survivor 101 by now to break up power couples like Dom and Wendell, not do absolutely everything you can to ensure they make it to the end together. That is why it's suspicious to me.

Laurel decided she’d rather be third than on the jury. The idea that D. And W. would split the votes, and she’d sneak in and win was a non-starter, as the final tally shows. Did she imagine people would think “I can’t decide between D and W, so I’ll vote for Laurel? Pffft!

Laurel was actually an impressive physical player and survived many bad situations -- but none of that mattered since she never made the Big Move.

I *think* what Laurel was hoping for was that all her original tribe members (or some, like Donathan) would throw her a vote. But that misses the point of (1) she was screwing over her old tribemates by aligning with Dom and Wendell, and (2) Dom and Wendell were building relationships with those players too.

Which brings me to my next point: Laurel was shown aligning with Donathan early on, then building her ties with Dom and Wendell. But there were a bunch of other players out there that we never saw her working with. What was her relationship with Kellyn? Chelsea? Sebastian? Desiree? Angela? Or even Libby, Jenna and Michael, who we rarely saw her with even on that original tribe.

I find it interesting that Laurel was a big fan and "patron" of Rob Has a Podcast. So it's great that she's all into game theory and what moves to make, but it seemed to me like she missed the boat on the social game. No one hated her, but no one felt very close to her either.

For the last several go-rounds, almost everyone has stated they are super fans and have watched for years and wanted to play. Then they get on and everything goes out the window as they proceed to make the same mistakes they claimed they would avoid. Being deprived to the extent they are for a month must really mess with their brain matter.

reminds me of the gay kid (Urkel??) on the last season of Big Brother. He came in as a superfan and then fell for Jessica's weak strategy and ended up as collateral damage. Superfans are the worst players

I liked the eye candy but found this season frustrating. The fact that Dom and Wendell could both show up at tribal councils with pockets full of immunities and advantages just takes the fun out of the game. I'm watching, R175. I posted about it in the last Survivor thread. It's OK, but I'm not blown away by it. Both Survivor NZ, and Survivor Australia before it, feel a little forced. Episodes are uneven in terms of pacing and editting. The gameplay ranges from solid to awful. Too many players, would love them to cut back.

Survivor South Africa is excellent, though.

Not enough kudos is being given to Wendell. He played an excellent social game which secured his win. On top of that he seems like a beautiful guy inside and out. Of course all the attention is given to typical datalounge fodder, Michael. All looks and no personality.

Not enough kudos for Wendell's lanky, sexy body either.

Someone posted a list of supposed cast members that were asked to come back for Season 38. It looks like plans might have changed to cut the number back to 4 players. Maybe some of the people they really wanted dropped out later in the casting process.

I remember Bret as the guy who came out to Zeke, but I can't think of anything he did in the game to warrant his return.

I'm not opposed to returnees, but would rather they do all returnees or no returnees. Also, I would prefer more old school returnees, and not people we've seen in the last few years. I know it's unlikely, but I liked the idea of second chances (people who have never returned before) from Seasons 1-15 or 1-20.

Anna was on the Koah Rong season. She was voted out pre-merge. She wasn't very memorable but did seem have a little game play in her at least. Here's a photo of her - it shows why she was mostly picked for - eye candy for straight male viewers (and lesbians I guess as well that go for fem looking women).

I'd like to see some of the older season players return again as well. I guess the more recent players are more on their radar and probably more likely to want to play again.

I wish they'd do a show of all people voted out first. Surely by now they could find 18 or so willing to go back and have a better shot. We never get to know them so it would be like a whole new cast -- but with some history for die hard fans.
