I saw Whitney today. It broke my heart. Definitely check this film out. It was very well done and pulled no punches. Whitney does a good job of balancing Houston’s demons but also humanizing her in a way to show why she was what she was and why she acted the way she did.

One thing that does ring true is that Dee Dee was active and on the road with Dionne, the Gospelaires, The Sweet Inspirations and other gigs during the period that this would have occurred, mid-60s. Her own solo recording and performing career started in 1963 -- the year that Whitney was born. What has been suggested is that there was ritual or repeated abuse by Dee Dee. It doesn't seem that she would have had access to do something like that during the time period suggested by Whitney's brother.
