Tommy Wiseau - AIDS Facial Wasting
I just watched "The Disaster Artist," the movie with James Franco about that freaky Tommy Wiseau guy who made "The Room." Then I went and looked up some clips of Wiseau, and man, he looks like about 20 miles of bad road.
In fact, his face has that AIDS wasting look. Does anybody know anything about him? Is he gay? HIV positive? In "The Disaster Artist," they kind of allude to the fact that Wiseau may have had a thing for his friend Greg Sestero. When Sestero gets a girlfriend and moves out of Tommy's place, Tommy became really nasty and vindictive.
It wouldn't surprise me if Wiseau is gay. That's probably why James Franco was keen to play him in the movie.

I do not get the camp value of this movie.
Watching movies like Showgirls or Mahogany cam be hysterical for the "so bad it's good" factor.
But The Room is just bad. Total snore. No fun to watch at all. IMHO.

R4 He's definitely much older than he'd like people to believe he is, but it's not just age that's showing on his face. It looks like the face of someone who's on some medication, be it for HIV or something else.

R8 His face looks like too many drunken late nights and drugs are taking their toll on his looks add to that a poor diet and no exercise. His looks are fading fast.

R7 The Room has some camp value to it, but it pales in comparison to Showgirls. Nothing will ever top Elizabeth Berkeley's famous nail filing, soft drink stabbing, ketchup pouring, French fry flinging tour de force!

He is 67 years old from Poland. I did some research. He owns a huge building right on the SF Wharf. The building must be worth a fortune. Probably where he got the money to make his movie. He talks about a terrible car accident when he was younger. I think He got a big payoff from the accident and bought the building. He has owned the building since the 70's. The building has a bunch of stores. He also has other buildings in SF. I think he has a mild brain injury. He is an interesting character.
