Benjamin [gay porn fiend Griffin Barrows] discusses his character on "Hey Human"
Summary borrowed from a Waybig poster:
I really like her shows, it was so random to hear him on an episode.
The quick and dirty: He talks about how fake porn is.
[bold]He really seems to have separated himself Benjamin from his character "Griffin". It is actually really odd how he discusses "Griffin" almost as if he dissociates the experience of random sex acts for pay as not being himself Benjamin, that is all "Griffin". He presents "Griffin" as him acting or being an actor. For example, when he is on social media he takes on the character "Griffin" and talks about searching for random cock on a Friday night, when in reality he is Benjamin on the couch watching Veep. Benjamin is boring and doesn't do that. He doesn't drink or do drugs or party, etc.[/bold]
He goes into being gay, or possibly reverse bi-curious. Discusses G4Pay performers and how difficult it is to work with those models and how he avoids it now. Pay/compensation, how it was good, then bad, then good. STD's: [bold]he got syphilis from an oral scene.[/bold] [Wonder if that happened at Chaosmen?] The rise of STD's even with Prep.
It is really worth a listen....but it might rock some of the hardliners on this blog who think things like "straight guys can't sleep with men" and that "gay guys actually enjoy every scene they are in even with a gay guy", "there is not such thing as bisexual". Where the rest of us who know porn is mostly acting and fantasy, will mostly just node and say, yeah, thats what I thought.
Oh, I do like how he discusses with porn being so available now, gay men think porn is normal and how sex really is in real life or in relationships; how it's created unrealistic views of sex. I totally agree with that. Anyway, it's a really good interview.

Is he analyzing a porn movie? Seriously?

He sounds a bit schizo there, to be honest, and I love his scenes.
reverse bi-curious
What the hell does that even mean? We have bi-curious gays and straights, so what could possibly be the reverse of either of those?

Yes, I think the syphillis had to be at CM. He said it was an oral scene during his first stint in porn. He started at CM, right, and CM does oral only "Serviced" scenes. Wonder who it was...

Oh, well. Another one I had hoped was well-adjusted is a schizo.

His natural gayvoice is so much more appealing than his fake-butch porn voice.

Benjamin comes from an extremely religious family and describes his experiences of going to a private Christian school. Sex ed involved wedding planning, child rearing and caring for a partner with a dementia.
He lost his virginity at 23 and thinks he'd be a terrible father, as is awful at relationships.

Oh, so he's going to end up getting into fisting. Great!

R10 Why do gay men have to be so nasty to each other?

R9, so why did he end up with doing porn? Can't he find a decent job with his "degrees" and baking skill?

R11, it's an inside joke that pastry chefs are into fisting. It has something to do with getting their hands greasy. Lighten up!
So, I listened to the podcast. I found it fascinating that Ben tries to compartmentalize Griffin, talking about himself in the third person. Further, that he made enough money working for Chaos Men to pay off his student loans, then reveals that the majority of the loans were from going to pastry school. Not that paying off your student loans isn't a laudable achievement. but to go into debt to learn how to bake? And then do nothing with that education?
I feel for him. He came from a strict religious family/background/school, and expresses dismay that he wasn't prepared for life. He touches briefly on his family and how they reacted first to him coming out (not well), then like it was no big deal that he went into porn. He doesn't seem to get that he's already damned to hell in his family's eyes, and the porn thing was just another minor strike after the big one.
He has a lot of growing up to do.

He says he's 29 on the podcast. I read thirtyish as thirstyish lol.

He can try and separate "Griffin" all he wants but no one else ever will.

I’ve met him. He’s cute, friendly, and well-spoken, but his smile never reaches his eyes.

So true. Like with you where everybody considers you a douchebag while you don't see yourself that way.

He seems totally well adjusted and using porn as a means to an end. Like all the porn performers we admire so much here. I'm really glad for this insight into a man completely in control of himself.

Griff is adorable. People generally expect too much from these young lads. He's a porn star. I enjoy him for his adult entertainment. I'm not going to get into psychoanalysis on him.

He's gorgeous and seems to enjoy himself in his scenes, and even if that's acting, it's very hot.

I think "reverse bisexual" means he prefers guys but is curious about pussy.

He keeps dropping hints about wanting to be in a mmf 3 way but not fucking the girl - he knows he isnt sexually attracted to women but he has idealized straight men to such an extreme that he wants to take it to the next level. For all his self-reflection and insight, he seems oblivious to how damaging this obsession with straight men can be. Of course he can't maintain a healthy functioning gay relationship because "straight men" don't make good romantic partners for gay men...I had to stop watching his onlyfans stuff because it became so focused on married men cheating on their wives to the point where in some videos he would suck on a guys wedding ring and engage in weird dirty talk about how much better he is a sucking dick than the wife, etc. Not sexy....

His latest obsession is gay-for-pay Brit Mr Billy Essex.

No, you wouldn't want to spoil the fantasy, would you? Every time one of these guys' mug shots or death notices is posted here, I'm reminded to just enjoy them for their adult entertainment.

Isn’t this just what actors do? He’s playing a part. He separates the actions he takes as a model in a scene from his own personal life and identity.
Why is this “schitzo?”
Lots of really rigid people post here.

He doesn't sound schizo at all in the podcast. Actually, I was surprised at how candid and articulate he was. Like someone else here said, Griffin is the product he sells, Benjamin is the real thing. How is that different from what everyone else in the public sphere does?
