Was Barbara Thorndyke really in the wrong?

Lets put her racist tendacies aside- she still had to deal with Rose's stupidty and Blanche's horniness. Rose didnt even know what a metaphore is!

And OP didn't even know that "didn't" contains an apostrophe, and that "metaphor" is spelled without an "e" on the end.

by Anonymousreply 1May 8, 2018 4:38 AM

Oh, and "tendacies" and "stupidty"?! WAH-ha-ha!

by Anonymousreply 2May 8, 2018 4:40 AM

No. The fact that Barbara used "precious" rhymes in her book titles, and that she was deluding herself to think that there was a "literary intelligentsia" in Miami undermine any credibility she might have had.

Yes and no, OP.

Yes, she was wrong for being a member of the Mortimer Club, but I don't blame her for finding Blanche and Rose limited.

[quote]and that "metaphor" is spelled without an "e" on the end.

I don't see a problem...
