Do they belong to SAG/AFTRA, etc.? Theoretically, can porn movies be nominated for Oscars?
No, and no. Porn actors don't need to belong to a union and porn movies don't meet the qualifications for an Oscar since they don't run in commercial motion picture theaters.

Back in the 70s and 80s a number of the porn stars and the people behind the scenes (including gay ones) in straight porn had some professional acting training and acting experience in theatre, television, and film. There were some examples in gay porn as well. Some of them were members of SAG, AFTRA and Equity. These days I'd say they are very few. Other than acting like you're enjoying the sex is the acting required for porn today, for the most part.
A union in porn would never work. There are a constant influx of people entering porn, so the producers would just hire they new ones or the ones not in unions. Plus today not a lot of people pay for porn.

Wash Westmoreland started out directing gay porn and ended up directing Julianne Moore to an oscar. Pretty incredible

Until the advent of home video, they most certainly did.
