I love Jake and Bernstein. I think it's great casting and it could be a hell of story. People talk shit about Jake all the time here but dude has been in a lot of very watchable films. I think he's very sexy and a good actor. Bernstein could be his Still Alice.

I distinctly remember every gay novel of the 70's having a scene where one of the protagonists runs into an aged Bernstein at a bath club.
Or maybe it was every gay brunch of the 70's that had one of the diners saying they ran into an aged Bernstein at a bath club.

Were the famous Toothie Tile blind items ever confirmed to be Jake? Those items kept me breathlessly waiting for a couple years thinking he was constantly on the verge of coming out. Now I don't even really think he's gay anymore and it was all just made up. Like Justin Timberlake, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and everyone else on down to John Goodman. So much wasted energy.
