Dennis Miller trending on twitter after saying he's going to "read up" on Michelle Wolf to come up with mean jokes in a few days

and is getting dragged to hell on twitter. It's glorious. Was he always a humorless republicunt?

this is his tweet

[quote[What a horrid human being Michelle Wolf is. I’m going to read up on her over the next couple of days and I will have a few brutally mean jokes about her by Wednesday.

He's one of those people who became conservative after 9/11, I think. I liked Patton Oswalt's reply, poking fun at Miller's old name-dropping joke technique

Dennis who? I vaguely remember someone with this name all the way back in the 90s or something.

by Anonymousreply 2April 30, 2018 3:22 AM

He did Weekend Update on SNL in the 80s

by Anonymousreply 3April 30, 2018 3:24 AM

Everyone knows he doesn't write his own material.

by Anonymousreply 4April 30, 2018 3:28 AM

Fox presents: A STAR IS BORN on their middle of the week live musical ratings grab. Starring somebody I've never heard of before as Dennis Miller and someone I think I've heard of before as Michelle Wolf.

by Anonymousreply 5April 30, 2018 3:31 AM

He'll only ever be relevant again when he drops dead.

by Anonymousreply 6April 30, 2018 3:38 AM

It's genius that Dennis Miller has partnered with Netflix to help Michelle Wolf promote upcoming special.

by Anonymousreply 7April 30, 2018 3:38 AM

It didn't seem to bother Miller when he would regularly appear on O'Reilley's slugfest and lambaste Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Dennis, STFU.

by Anonymousreply 8April 30, 2018 3:40 AM

It's genius that Dennis Miller has partnered with Netflix to help Michelle Wolf promote her upcoming special.

Another shit on whom good looks were wasted.

by Anonymousreply 10April 30, 2018 3:49 AM

he a known joke theif

?

by Anonymousreply 11April 30, 2018 3:52 AM

She looks like Carrot Top and sounds like Roseanne Barr. That's all you need to know.

by Anonymousreply 12April 30, 2018 3:53 AM

He been anti-gay in the past. This is the first I've heard of him in years. Not that I'm complaining.

by Anonymousreply 13April 30, 2018 3:54 AM

He used to be funny and then took a nasty sharp right a few decades ago and had a show on Fox News for awhile. His junior when he was on SNL was amusing, then his jokes became cruel and mean. He makes conservatives happy because he is supposed to be something of an intellectual, so they feel smarter for agreeing with him. It's bizarre how humor, when it's well-intentioned, has a completely different tone when it comes out of someone's mouth that is a cruel person. It's also why there is no successful conservative Daily Show equivalent on Fox News even though they have tried.

by Anonymousreply 14April 30, 2018 4:03 AM

I’m glad Dennis is speaking out about this vulgar show and hope he can team up with Kellyanne and Sarah Huckabeast to create some comedy gold. Can’t wait for the laughs.

by Anonymousreply 15April 30, 2018 4:17 AM

This is probably as long as it takes Dennis to work up an erection.

by Anonymousreply 16April 30, 2018 4:24 AM

Miller writes jokes?

by Anonymousreply 17April 30, 2018 4:45 AM

R14, remember Miller's fail as a color commentator on Monday Night football? What an embarrassing match.

by Anonymousreply 18April 30, 2018 4:56 AM

Well, I'm sure wikipedia will appreciate the traffic coming there way as this insufferable douchebag comes up with some obscure name to include in the joke to show everyone how "brilliant" he is.

by Anonymousreply 19April 30, 2018 4:59 AM

His two sons are named Holden and Marlon so that's all you need to know.

by Anonymousreply 20April 30, 2018 5:13 AM

R20. Good one. Miller is a pretentious asshole.

by Anonymousreply 21April 30, 2018 5:29 AM

Nah, r1, he was already appearing on Fox in the late 1990s, and that special of his circa 1996 had a whole routine slamming Ed Asner for being "too liberal."

I think he has tried to say he was "turned" by 9/11 but that's just jingoism. He's filth.

by Anonymousreply 22April 30, 2018 6:29 AM

Never understood why some people thought he was funny. SNL sure coughs up some hairballs.

by Anonymousreply 23April 30, 2018 6:55 AM

[quote]I think he has tried to say he was "turned" by 9/11 but that's just jingoism. He's filth.

He's always been an asshole - married to an ex-Playboy bunny, but is anti-choice. His sharp right turn after 9/11 was just the dropping of a mask.

by Anonymousreply 27April 30, 2018 8:40 AM

by Anonymousreply 28April 30, 2018 8:48 AM

[quote][R14], remember Miller's fail as a color commentator on Monday Night football? What an embarrassing match.

I haven't seen a fumble that bad since Charlotte Corday accidentally tripped and fell on the bathroom mat right before stabbing Murat, cha cha!

by Anonymousreply 29April 30, 2018 11:41 AM

The entire family looks miserable.

by Anonymousreply 30April 30, 2018 3:50 PM

Where does "cha cha" come from? Aside from Patton Oswalt.

by Anonymousreply 31April 30, 2018 3:52 PM

R31, I'm not sure but I think it was a thing he might've said once or twice in his act but then became his catchphrase when people started impersonating him, sort of like how Ed Sullivan was tagged as having said "really big show."

by Anonymousreply 32May 1, 2018 12:56 AM

[quote]Was he always a humorless republicunt?

No. He used to be a humorless Democrat.

by Anonymousreply 33May 1, 2018 1:01 AM

These jokes better be good.

by Anonymousreply 34May 1, 2018 1:17 AM

Miller is just like any other straight asshole who has children in that once they have children, they only cate about their children. He turned into a selfish , fearful asshole.

Fuck his unfunny exhipster self.

by Anonymousreply 35May 1, 2018 1:21 AM

She does not wipe properly.

by Anonymousreply 36May 1, 2018 1:32 AM

The "cha cha" thing is a bastardization of Jimmy Durante's "hot-cha-cha" punchline ender, I believe.

by Anonymousreply 37May 2, 2018 10:20 AM

R32, no, it's a sarcastic nickname Dennis Miller used in his act to refer to someone annoying and pretentious, as in, "Move it, Cha Cha. I don't have all day." Later, Dana Carvey amplified it when they did those "dueling Dennis Miller" segments on Weekend Update, when he and sometimes another person would appear side by side with Miller and do the news impersonating him. I can't find a video but below is a transcript where Carvey used the "cha cha" thing repeatedly.

by Anonymousreply 38May 2, 2018 12:20 PM

Thanks r38, but also yikes. Did we as a culture ever think that was funny? I'm questioning everything I remember about the early 1990s.

by Anonymousreply 39May 2, 2018 1:14 PM

His role in Disclosure was so random.

by Anonymousreply 41May 2, 2018 4:12 PM

Dennis Miller as a topic = zzzz

by Anonymousreply 42May 2, 2018 4:16 PM

I love Dana Carvey. One of the funniest people ever born. Dennis Miller is the typical comic stereotype: mean, sarcastic, biting and arrogant. He's never been funny.

by Anonymousreply 43May 2, 2018 4:17 PM

r43 he was funny when he was tightly controlled on SNL. When he's on his own, and when he decided he really hated people and not just jokingly so, was when it became more sad than anything. I think he must have eaten some bad crab salad that infected his brain and triggered the Republican Asshole gene. See also: Ben Stein.

by Anonymousreply 44May 2, 2018 4:22 PM

This tucker should retire. Relic of the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 45May 2, 2018 4:25 PM

R44, even then his sarcasm and arrogance were obvious. Even if he said something funny on SNL, I still found him grating and unfunny. I see him now as grabbing onto the coattails of a woman to catch a ride to relevance. Won't work because there are far too many others out there who are a lot funnier.

by Anonymousreply 46May 2, 2018 4:27 PM

by Anonymousreply 49May 2, 2018 4:29 PM

Dennis Miller was a fifth tier media personality in Pittsburgh. It is a mystery how he ever became famous. He was the least funny person in all of humanity. Even on SNL he was a squinty mess that most viewers just wanted to kick in the balls.

Pittsburgh unleased both Miller and Rush fucking Limbaugh on the world. Two tumorous twats that desperately need to sit the fuck down and STFU.

by Anonymousreply 50May 2, 2018 4:29 PM

What the hell is it with Pittsburgh? I met a guy from there who wouldn't stop hitting on me even when I told him I was a lesbian. I overheard him on his phone telling someone he was 'working' on turning me around. No one I've ever met from that town has been pleasant. Philadelphia, on the other hand, is one of my favorite towns with loads of friendly people. Must be the lake water.

I remember an interview he did with GQ decades ago talking about clothing.

He said he hated button collar shirts and went into a rant about they're low class and well dressed men should never wear them, especially with a tie.

Later that year he was on TV wearing a button down collar shirt--with a tie.

That pretty much sums up Dennis Miller.

by Anonymousreply 53May 2, 2018 4:57 PM

R51 Filthadelphia is usually even worse. But PA in general is not an advanced, progressive state - at least not with old timers.

by Anonymousreply 54May 2, 2018 4:59 PM

If I had to pick one adjective to describe Miller's comedic delivery it would be "snide."

by Anonymousreply 55May 2, 2018 5:12 PM

So, are there a few examples of Dennis Miller being dragged on Twitter, I looked at OP's link but there are too many Deplorables praising him.

by Anonymousreply 56May 2, 2018 5:38 PM

[Quote]I will have a few brutally mean jokes about her by Wednesday.

[quote] So, are there a few examples of Dennis Miller being dragged on Twitter,

"YOU THERE! BOY! WHAT DAY IS IT?"

"Why, it's #DennisMillerJokeDay, sir!"

"THEN THERE'S STILL TIME! Boy, take this money and run down to the butcher's and buy the fattest goose in the window and have it sent to Victoria Jackson's trailer!"

by Anonymousreply 59May 2, 2018 6:01 PM

Ugh, #DennisMillerJokeDay has become so commercialized. I remember when people mocked Dennis Miller in a quiet dignified way and we celebrated not giving a shit who he was with our friends and family.

what's your favorite #dennismillerjokeday tradition? I remember growing up, my family and I would order Chinese food and retell our favorite "rants" around the campfire. that was back before millennials and their iPhones cheapened everything

by Anonymousreply 62May 2, 2018 6:03 PM

#dennismillerjokeday Not using Dennis Miller Joke Day as a chance for everyone to make a Miller-style joke is a bigger blunder than French Marshal MacMahon retiring to Châlons instead of taking the initiative during the battle of Wörth!

by Anonymousreply 63May 2, 2018 6:04 PM

Needs more snide and less history geek, R63.

by Anonymousreply 64May 2, 2018 6:10 PM

My family is either dead or moved away a long time ago, so I find #DennisMillerJokeDay a bit melancholic. I stay home & think about the DM Joke Days past, when we were all together in front of the 25” Sony Trinitron eating Jello Pudding Pops & drinking Zima. I miss you, mom & dad

Typical Republican hypocrite.

by Anonymousreply 88May 2, 2018 6:45 PM

by Anonymousreply 93May 2, 2018 6:51 PM

[quote] He's probably the only SNL alumni who speaks to Victoria Jackson.

I don't know if Dennis Miller was there, but from what I heard NOBODY spoke to her during the SNL 40th Anniversary.

by Anonymousreply 94May 2, 2018 6:55 PM

Dennis Miller is among quite a few male performers who never made it to full stardom. As a result, he became embittered, hateful and resentful. These men, which include Scott Baio and Kevin Sorbo, then turn to right wing politics and they obnoxiously support Donald Trump. It’s not surprising because Trump supporters are embittered, hateful and resentful, as well.

by Anonymousreply 95May 2, 2018 7:05 PM

People who think Michelle Wolf has an annoying voice should listen to Dennis Miller's nasal, long winded boringness for five minutes. You'll want to gouge out your eardrums.

by Anonymousreply 96May 2, 2018 11:59 PM

I think Wolf is a typically smug and unfunny piece of work but that has nothing to do with the content of her talk (set, I should say) at the dinner.

Dennis Miller, however, is an apologist for the fascists of the USA, and couldn't come up with "jokes" at this point in his "career" for anyone to care about. He's just a nasty and hateful person with bad politics and a dishonest core.

And that's not something that can be said about Wolf.

by Anonymousreply 97May 3, 2018 12:14 AM

Hysterical thread.

by Anonymousreply 98May 3, 2018 7:38 AM

Don't be mean. He was recently diagnosed with Snarcus Terminalis.

by Anonymousreply 99May 3, 2018 8:04 AM

I never get what I want! Thank you, #DennisMillerJokeDay, for not disappointing.

by Anonymousreply 100May 3, 2018 1:25 PM

Miller was just as smug when he was a Democrat.

There is (or was—too lazy to look) footage on YouTube of Miller hosting MTV’s 1993 inaugural ball. Before the Clintons showed up, he said something to crowd like “yeah, finally one of OUR guys got elected, huh!” to the delighted whoops and hollers of the twentysomethings in the audience.

by Anonymousreply 101May 3, 2018 1:36 PM

The only thing Miller has ever been is a self-serving, smug opportunist.

by Anonymousreply 102May 3, 2018 1:39 PM

It sucks that’s he’s managed to get himself publicity through this. Ignore him and he’ll go away....

by Anonymousreply 103May 3, 2018 1:47 PM

This asshole couldn’t come up with anything to write about her to save his own life. I briefly dated one of his former writers, and he said that Miller was about as creative as a speck of dust on a pair of sunglasses.
