SQUEEEEEE!
Tim Burton’s Dumbo?
I was expecting a photo of Johnny Depp.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 24, 2018 8:57 PM |
Most of Tim Burton's movie are just kind of entertaining. They start out good but sort of die half way through.
Ron Howard movies are the same.

Twitter doesn’t load again.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 24, 2018 9:40 PM |
God I hope he doesn’t fuck it up. It’s a sweet, simple story that doesn’t need the “Burton treatment.”
I did like his Willie Wonka movie though.

More reboots! More sequels!
More superheroes! More animation!

Hello? Did someone say something?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 24, 2018 10:28 PM |
Ugh, he hasn't done anything original in decades.
He stole Jack and Sally from the Wizard of Oz books (The Patchwork Girl and Pumpkin Head), so that's not even his own. Plus, he's crawled up Disney's ass, so fuck his bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 24, 2018 10:52 PM |
Dumbo looks cUte. At least they got that right
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 24, 2018 11:02 PM |
Oh Tim.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 24, 2018 11:39 PM |
Yes, a Burton “Pink Elephants on Parade.”
Nice
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 25, 2018 12:20 AM |
I despair. Someone please stop Tim.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 25, 2018 12:25 AM |
It's not a remake, more of a follow up, another Dumbo adventure. This means no delirium tremens pink elephants parade. Pity. Disney could be challenging in his early career.
It could be fun for the kids, though.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 25, 2018 8:37 PM |
Colin Farrell + cute flying elephants + Eva Green = I'm in.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 25, 2018 8:40 PM |
When he started in the 1980s, his movies were good. I would count his first six films as highly original and enjoyable: Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare before Christmas, and Ed Wood.
Everything he did after that was crap. Mars Attacks! and Big Fish were somewhat original, but everything else he touched was a remake of something that someone else did better. Putting Johnny Depp in a stupid costume and having him talk with a funny voice does not equal entertainment.

by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 14, 2018 12:55 AM |
The pink elephants scared the shit out of me. It's fucking creepy and somewhat demonic viewing it when I was little.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 14, 2018 12:59 AM |
Tim Burton is a hack. His movies are awful.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 14, 2018 1:08 AM |
I guess Sarah Huckabee Sanders is now free to play Jumbo.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 14, 2018 1:14 AM |
Burton hasn't made a good movie in many years. His films tend to be elaborate, expensive productions where the actors wear tons of makeup and outlandish costumes and everything looks very overblown and artificial. And he's redoing "Dumbo?" Oh my God, what a piece of shit it's sure to be. And who plays Dumbo? Johnny Depp in an elephant suit? And who plays his mother, Helena Bonham Carter in another elephant suit? Stick with the original, folks. It's tender and funny and features the brilliant "Pink Elephants On Parade" sequence.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 14, 2018 1:23 AM |
Is Dumbo's mother going to get killed or some other horrible event? If so I'm out. I love elephants too much to witness a cute fake one go through some kind of hell. I won't be able to sit through it. You know there's going to be some kind of horrible risk - Dumbo getting dropped into a meat grinder, for example - or chased by wild wolves through a forest - I dunno.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 14, 2018 1:29 AM |
China is going to love this!

by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 14, 2018 1:46 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 14, 2018 1:48 AM |
Squee : Exclamation used to express great delight or excitement. It can be a verb or a noun.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 14, 2018 1:52 AM |
Burton did an elaborate remake of the children's film "Willie Wonka." And it was atrocious. I think "Dumbo" will be the same. Who are the fucking family? There was no family in "Dumbo." He's doing HIS version of it, with a treacly family aspect to it. Tim Burton is a hack. And now he's going to fuck "Dumbo" up, too.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 14, 2018 1:53 AM |
"Squeeeee" is a derivation of the word "squeal". A squeal of excitement and joy one would make upon seeing a specifically cute or adorable item.
"He dropped his pants and exposed his ass and OMG...Squeeee!"

I found out it's Aurora singing "Baby Mine" in that teaser, no thanks to you bitches.
She's usually the queen of overemoting but she's pretty restrained here. Maybe she's matured, who knows, but she sounds lovely.

by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 14, 2018 10:27 PM |
The story is not complex enough for Burton to fuck it up....however, the story itself lends to Burtons creativity....and this movie will be all about the visuals...and thats Burtons strength.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 14, 2018 7:41 PM |
Burton needs a comeback, too many artist failures the last 10 years, or more.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 14, 2018 7:44 PM |
Awww I love the original film. I hope it's good.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 14, 2018 7:54 PM |
I did like his film about the artist Keen who did those big eyed people paintings in the 60s - it starred Amy Adams, as the wife who did the paintings but her husband got the credit and money.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 14, 2018 8:15 PM |
Ed Wood was a looooooooooooong time ago
Has he apologized for Planet of the Apes yet?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 14, 2018 8:18 PM |
This looks like another expensive, shitty remake. But I'm sure it's going to be plugged as a "family film" so it will probably find an audience. But Tim Burton puts out nothing but crap. I'm surprised Johnny Depp didn't play Dumbo in an elephant suit.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 14, 2018 8:21 PM |
Hopefully, Burton's finally over his Johnny Depp crush. I think we've seen enough, Tim, turn the freaking page already.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 14, 2018 8:53 PM |
Dumbo is a dark masterpiece. It's such a beautiful and perfect film. Why bother even trying a remake.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 14, 2018 9:01 PM |
Disney's remaking all their classic animated films whether we like it or not.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 14, 2018 9:14 PM |
The only exceptional good Beauty and the Beast was Cocteau's, which is too arch and dated. Why not remake that. But Dumbo? no.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 14, 2018 9:20 PM |
That Grinch remake is making way more money than anyone expected.
Idiots want to see the same story over and over and over again. And they LOVE standing in long lines and paying good money for the opportunity. They tell Hollywood loud and clear: “Remakes and sequels are what we want! We don’t want new ideas!”
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 14, 2018 10:15 PM |
The Grinch remake is totally unnecessary....strictly a money grab for the studio.

I normally wouldn't watch that family fare, but I'll go for Colin Farrell. Not for the role he plays, but because he spoke in favor of gay marriage. This is the opposite of a boycott.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | November 15, 2018 8:55 PM |
What about Timothy Mouse, who was Dumbo's mentor in the original? Is he omitted from this film? I guess so. I suppose now Dumbo has some human, like a cute widdle girl maybe, who convinces him he can fly.

I found a reason - as fangurlish as it is - to see the movie. Him being or not in the closet is not a reason to boycott the cute baby elephant movie ! His action in 2015 weighs more in my eyes.

The so-called black Irish weren't actually dark-skinned, just dark-haired.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | November 20, 2018 9:57 PM |
lol r80.
The actress playing the little girls is actually Thandie Newton's daughter. So she's biracial.
This movie will make bank, the kiddies and their parent will flock to see it. It really isn't a movie for us cynical DL freaks.
But I will go to see it for Farrell as well. He's so sweet playing Dad. And for Keaton too, love him in anything.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | November 20, 2018 9:59 PM |
He should have given Dumbo a higher forehead. It would have made the baby elephant cuter like the original Dumbo.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | November 20, 2018 10:13 PM |
It'll be a shitty movie. Tim Burton has done nothing but make expensive, shitty movies for years. But since it's a "family" film, people will bring their kids to see it, even if it does suck. And it will.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | November 20, 2018 10:24 PM |

Burton's "Dark Shadows" was painful if you were expecting an homage to or at least a half-decent parody of the original. Clearly no one involved in the project was familiar with or cared about "Dark Shadows." It was like they read the Wikipedia page summary and used that as a platform for a bunch of rude jokes and "weren't the Seventies tacky" references.
The problem with Burton movies is you never really know which ones are going to be unbearable and which are pretty good. It's always better to see them on the big screen because no living filmmaker uses that format better. I wish I'd seen "Mars Attacks!" on the big screen, and I'm glad I saw "Edward Scissorhands," "The Corpse Bride," and even his "Planet of the Apes" in theatres, but I could have done without "Batman," "Big Fish," and "Dark Shadows."
