I love Tricia Nixon!!! She seems so pert in old photos. If I had been alive I'd have dressed like her.

I went to represent DL but I was removed when I became hysterical and tried to throw myself on the coffin.

Threw yourself on the coffin? Puh-leese! Come clean - you were using it as a support to present hole!

Jimmy Carter is ill and I believe so is Roslyn. I don't blame Amy for not necessarily going - Washington was unkind to her.
I am surprised that Michael Reagan didn't go. We know neither Ron Jr. or Patti give a fuck.

Barb Bush was a massive cunt but thank he lord Trump didn't go out of respect for the Busin family. It would have been too much.

Michael Reagan is not popular with any Presidential family, past or present

R8 Maybe so, just figured he was the only one left. I knew Patti and Ron were not really down with that stuff. Patti may have been willing to do it but probably burned too many bridges to be welcome.

Barbara Bush didn't visit us when we were living at the Houston Astrodome. And bitch, it didn't work out all that well for us. So no, we wouldn't have any sympathy that she finally died. Good riddance.

The Carters are as said elderly so given a pass here, for not attending but someone from the Reagan clan should have stepped up. All the former presidential families sent reps to Nancy's funeral a few years ago.

Do you go to the funerals of people you worked with 30 or 40 years ago? What the fuck?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 22, 2018 2:52 AM

This isn't a typical funeral r24 she's a former FLOTUS, its tradition for all recent presidential families to send representation if possible.
Even Susan Ford made the trip in. Both of the Johnson daughters (although they live in TX I believe, so not a long distance to travel.)

Jimmy carter was overseas and Mrs Carter is recovering from intestinal surgery. I thought Michael Reagan was in poor health as well.

I can certainly understand that neither Patti or Ron would care to embrace Reagan’s legacy. Both of them have more sense than to care to do that. Still Bush Senior was their fathers employee and was loyal to the horrible old shit. Besides Barbara Bush shared at least Patti’s Very low regard for Nancy. LOL. Maybe that is really the issue!

So what, who cares about any of this shit, especially considering how "dubya" and the Bush crime family stole both elections that slid him into the White House (and squandered the Clinton surplus) no more or less than how Putin shoved you-know-who in there. All this fuss about a privileged old bag who lived way beyond her time to go. America has definitely slipped in this day and age as John Kennedy might have put it.

Amy Carter disappeared from public life ever since the day her dad left office. I guess you could say the same thing about Patti Davis.
The Carters must be disappointed in how Amy turned out compared to other Presidential offspring. It doesn't say much for their parenting skills.

Amy Carter withdrew from public life, but Jimmy Carter's son ran for the Senate in NV in 2006, and his grandson ran for GA gov. a few years ago (both lost). Those two are certainly public figures and could have represented the family as the former president was abroad and the first lady recovering from hospitalization.
Question is did they not offer or were they not welcomed?
Given the bad blood between the Reagans and the Bushes, no surprise about that.
