Bill Bixby
He had a great ass (see the intro to [italic]The Courtship of Eddie's Father,[/italic] below).
He had a tragic life. His seven year old son, his only child, died of a rare throat infection while on a ski vacation, and his wife, the actress Brenda Benet, left him for another woman, divorced him, and then shot herself a year later. He married a second time, but died six weeks before he collapsed from prostate cancer while directing an episode of [italic]Blossom[/italic]; he died soon after.
He was much beloved in Hollywood. he was the lead in three hit shows--[italic]My Favorite Martian, The Courtship of eddie's Father,[/italic] and [italic]The Incredible Hulk,[/italic] and also starred in a very well-regarded fourth, [italic]The Magician.[/italic] he was also a talented TV director.

Just learned that he and I went to the same school in SF (he was a number of years before me): Lowell High School. Carol Channing went there too--many years before me.

Hard to fathom he was born in 1932! He still seems so young in my memory.
