The Bedroom Window (1987)
Another Hitchcock type thriller, this one was directed by Curtis Hanson (who would go on to become most famous for LA Confidential).
The film had a great concept and starts off promisingly enough, but then it just unravels as it goes on. Still, it's notable for actually making Steve Guttenberg appear kind of sexy as the leading man (in a nerdy kind of way). This Hitchcock inspired film would have probably been much better had it been directed by Brian De Palma. One can only imagine how De Palma would have re-conceived the non-dialogue scene where Guttenberg follows the killer and watches how he seeks out his next victim.

Thank you, Curtis Hanson, for making Steve Guttenberg go nude in this movie.

Love this film so much, but OP is right about it going south as it progresses.

I saw this movie when it first came out and I loved it. The fact that I was really stoned probably helped with my opinion of the movie, but I also remember thinking to myself “wow, who knew Steve Guttenberg was sexy as fuck?”

Steve Gutenberg WAS sexy with a great chest and cute face but it was always nerdy sexy.
