Trading Spaces Reunion

The ladies look amazing. Where is Edward?

by Anonymousreply 230March 17, 2019 7:11 PM

They all look pretty good. Did we decide that Ty is gay?

by Anonymousreply 1April 8, 2018 12:19 AM

Whether he is or not, Ty aged the most. Papa Smurf Frank looks exactly the same.

by Anonymousreply 2April 8, 2018 12:20 AM

Edward's at a prayer class with his lady fair.

by Anonymousreply 3April 8, 2018 12:21 AM

I'm not at the reunion because I'm too busy bringing the outside.. .IN..

by Anonymousreply 4April 8, 2018 12:22 AM

R4 Oh God, I forgot how terrible Kia was.

by Anonymousreply 5April 8, 2018 12:29 AM

God, everyone had had more work done than most of these trading spaces houses

by Anonymousreply 6April 8, 2018 12:33 AM

I like Paige Davis Davis' flat hair

by Anonymousreply 7April 8, 2018 12:38 AM

God those "designs" were hideous

by Anonymousreply 8April 8, 2018 12:42 AM

I get angry on behalf of the homeowners whenever they show footage of that asshole Hildi covering four walls with fake flowers via staplegun. She absolutely destroyed those walls. True, the homeowners shouldn't sign up for this if they cant take it, but homeowners dont expect to have to replace drywall because some hostile birch thinks fake flowers covering bathroom walls is chic. They think they might have to repaint, not repair damage.

by Anonymousreply 9April 8, 2018 12:44 AM

Is Frank still married to that foxy wife of his?

by Anonymousreply 10April 8, 2018 12:47 AM

They all have Vaerst Leddy eyes now!

by Anonymousreply 11April 8, 2018 12:49 AM

Fuck this tired show. Bring back "Design on a Dime". Love me some Joan.

by Anonymousreply 12April 8, 2018 12:49 AM

I feel bad for the lesbian couple whose walls were covered in hay. You know they ripped that shit down the next day. Hildi deserved a kick in the cunt for that catastrophe.

by Anonymousreply 13April 8, 2018 12:54 AM

Crying Pam is still my favorite bad reveal. When you hear her crying off-camera over what really was not a bad makeover--Doug put a modern facade over her fireplace-'it's just too sadly funny.

by Anonymousreply 14April 8, 2018 12:57 AM

I saw Jason Cameron is coming back as well and he looks even hotter

by Anonymousreply 15April 8, 2018 1:05 AM

I want to eat Carter's ass until I get to his small intestines.

by Anonymousreply 16April 8, 2018 1:07 AM

Didn't Ty have a meth problem at one time? Carter looks gorgeous. Hilde is 56 and that bitch looks great.

by Anonymousreply 17April 8, 2018 1:14 AM

Laurie and Vern did the best with the pittance budget. Vern looks the best today, no?

by Anonymousreply 18April 8, 2018 1:16 AM

Ty does have a really good body for 53, meth diet obviously. Carter, the sex pest, doesn't look any older.

by Anonymousreply 19April 8, 2018 1:17 AM
I get angry on behalf of the homeowners whenever they show footage of that asshole Hildi covering four walls with fake flowers via staplegun. She absolutely destroyed those walls.

Those walls were in the spare bathroom of a McMansion owned by friends of Laurie's who were on the show only to work with her on their neighbor's house. Said bathroom was also scheduled for a renovation anyway.

They knew what they signed up for.

by Anonymousreply 20April 8, 2018 1:20 AM

R13 I remember reading an interview for that couple and they said their neighbors helped them take down the hay immediately (i.e. as soon as the show left).

by Anonymousreply 21April 8, 2018 1:28 AM

No real interior designer would put straw (not hay but no big difference) on a wall

by Anonymousreply 22April 8, 2018 1:32 AM
Crying Pam is still my favorite bad reveal. When you hear her crying off-camera over what really was not a bad makeover--Doug put a modern facade over her fireplace-'it's just too sadly funny.

Oh my God, yes. I could watch that on a loop, all day. Everything about it cracks me up; her vain attempts to find something positive to say at first, her sotto vice explanation that she needs to leave the room, Paige’s reaction, everything.

by Anonymousreply 23April 8, 2018 1:35 AM

Paige was fired from her original TS gig because naughty videos of her surfaced of her singing "I Feel Pretty" while shaving in the shower.

by Anonymousreply 24April 8, 2018 1:39 AM

Everyone looks great. Hildi and Doug are doing their jobs and deliver surprising yet attractive designs the first episode. Not sure how the sister contestants will receive them, but they’re very characteristic of the designers in the best way possible.

by Anonymousreply 25April 8, 2018 1:59 AM

Doug looks just like Barry Manilow now! Hildi's designs are still over the top and ugly - stringing eggshells??

by Anonymousreply 26April 8, 2018 2:04 AM

They shouldn't have the 2 cuntiest designers for the first episode

by Anonymousreply 27April 8, 2018 2:10 AM

At the beginning of the reunion they showed a clip of “the newest members of the team” walking out on the stage but did they actually show them being interviewed?

by Anonymousreply 28April 8, 2018 2:21 AM

R28, next Saturday is pt 2 of the reunion show that will introduce the newbies.

2 hours for a reunion show of trading spaces?! Not even the reunions of Happy Days or Laverne & Shirley got 2 hours.

by Anonymousreply 29April 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Laurie did porn and they kicked ME out?

by Anonymousreply 30April 8, 2018 2:40 AM

I wish they brought back my favorite carpenter, Faber. However the new carpenter Brett ain’t hard on the eyes.

No, he just [italic]looks[/italic] like he does meth. Can't stand him.

by Anonymousreply 32April 8, 2018 2:53 AM

I'm calling it: You all owe me five bucks each when that rigged Murphy bed--which required three people to lift and lock--crushes someone.

by Anonymousreply 33April 8, 2018 5:01 AM
Where is Edward?

He's home makin' pillahs.

by Anonymousreply 34April 8, 2018 5:10 AM

I wonder which designers were not asked back versus the ones who turned it down. There’s Kia, Edward, Christy Proctor, Barry Wood, Laura Day...

by Anonymousreply 35April 8, 2018 5:35 AM

Poor Edward. Such a sweet guy. So tacky.

by Anonymousreply 36April 8, 2018 8:28 AM

Build Series interview.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 37April 8, 2018 10:59 AM

Didn’t Genevieve, Vern and Carter all have decent gigs on HGTV? On that note, I miss Design Star.

I wouldn’t exactly say Doug has aged well but he looks better than he did when the original series ended 10 years ago. I remember all the speculation back then about his health because he looked so gaunt.

by Anonymousreply 38April 8, 2018 2:36 PM

Quick takes:

Paige’s flat longer hair looks great.

Shame on Hilde for making those homeowners blow out 5 dozen eggs. She hasn’t changed.

I like Laurie’s hair darker red, but she still looks great.

Daddy bear Frank looks the same - is he still straight?

They let Carter back after forcing his makeup artist to give him BJs??

Genevieve looks better than ever.

Will they bring back the female carpenter? I forget her name but I always liked her.

I always liked Sabrina Soto - excited to see what she’ll bring to the Trading Spaces table.

I like the new tent sponsor idea and the higher 2k budget.

by Anonymousreply 39April 8, 2018 5:07 PM
Will they bring back the female carpenter? I forget her name but I always liked her.

Amy Wynn. I like her, too.

by Anonymousreply 40April 8, 2018 5:23 PM

My favorite reveal was when the colored girl did the military family's house. Their one wish that it should not be cammo or anything military. I'll give you one guess as to what she did with the room.

by Anonymousreply 41April 8, 2018 5:24 PM

The host makes me puke!

by Anonymousreply 42April 8, 2018 5:24 PM

I WAS there bitches.

by Anonymousreply 43April 8, 2018 5:28 PM

IMO Doug holds the record for most hideous disasters ever. Last night they showed the gay couple who were subjected to that hideous all white room he did. They showed what the couple actually did with the room, which was beautiful. They also referenced that hideous "Prison of Love" room that he did, but didn't show it updated. He got super pissy in that Crying Pam episode and even got a little pissy last night when the one sister balked at stapling the walls with burlap.

And yes, he was heavily made up.

by Anonymousreply 44April 8, 2018 5:42 PM

ihavetoleavetheroom

by Anonymousreply 45April 8, 2018 5:51 PM

Most of the cast and crew hated Paige Davis in the original series. As much as Alex considered the show beneath her, she was still better liked than Paige.

by Anonymousreply 46April 8, 2018 5:53 PM

You each get $2,000 and a cum facial from Carter!

by Anonymousreply 47April 8, 2018 5:55 PM

Doug must be on the show for comic effect.

by Anonymousreply 48April 8, 2018 6:01 PM

Alex was very pretty, but she dressed in a way that made her look poor. I always imagined her living in some shitty one room apartment eating ramen noodles, because of her clothes. I don't miss her. I thought she was too low energy.
Most of the cast and crew hated Paige Davis in the original series.

I don't think they all did, but Doug found her annoying. They eventually got used to her from what I have heard.
They also referenced that hideous "Prison of Love" room that he did, but didn't show it updated.

That was when the show had gone way off the rails. Intentionally making shitty rooms was just stupid.

by Anonymousreply 49April 8, 2018 6:03 PM

It is pretty amazing they're letting Carter Oosterhouse back, considering the rather sleazy nature of the allegations, not just a little grab ass.

by Anonymousreply 50April 9, 2018 6:01 AM
Crying Pam is still my favorite bad reveal. When you hear her crying off-camera over what really was not a bad makeover--Doug put a modern facade over her fireplace-'it's just too sadly funny.

She's a textbook frau, no?

by Anonymousreply 51April 9, 2018 6:44 AM

R41 is trolling their ass off.

by Anonymousreply 52April 9, 2018 7:22 AM

Genevieve had a nose job

by Anonymousreply 53April 9, 2018 10:08 AM

Where is crying Pam today?

by Anonymousreply 54April 9, 2018 10:10 AM

You could tell Crying Pam's husband was whipped, he kept saying his wife was not happy.

by Anonymousreply 55April 9, 2018 10:13 AM

Crying Pam looked like her husbands mother.

by Anonymousreply 56April 9, 2018 11:16 AM

I am not trying to belittle the "metoo" movement, but if Carter O. has to force himself on someone, why couldn't he call me? That man is truly beautiful. Is he still married to Amy Smart?

by Anonymousreply 57April 9, 2018 11:55 AM

From what I understand, though Amy Wynn-Pastor was at the reunion, she went be on the series this season because shes under contract to another network. Kia Stevenson won't be back because shes doing props and set design (her latest was Black Panther). Christine Proctor was really Frank in drag, so maybe she'll show up one day.

by Anonymousreply 58April 9, 2018 1:15 PM

Wow that’s awesome, good for Kia. I love Amy Wyn! Too bad we won’t see her beyond the reunion.

by Anonymousreply 59April 9, 2018 3:37 PM

Where’s Faber???

by Anonymousreply 60April 10, 2018 3:01 AM

He died you dumb ass.

by Anonymousreply 61April 10, 2018 11:16 AM

I cut the cable years ago. Haven't found this on any of the usual treaming sites: netflix, amazon prime. Anyone know how to get it?

by Anonymousreply 62April 10, 2018 11:20 AM

^The App.

by Anonymousreply 63April 10, 2018 11:56 AM

At a gay bar in Dallas in 2002 where Ty was signing copies of his book, he told me that he did not like Paige at all and much preferred when Alex was hosting.

I agreed.

by Anonymousreply 64April 10, 2018 9:54 PM

I like Paige better than Ty.

by Anonymousreply 65April 10, 2018 9:56 PM

Did you notice Paige dissed Doug, something about him not growing up

by Anonymousreply 66April 11, 2018 4:23 AM
I like Paige better than Ty.

I like anybody on that show, including crying Pam, more than I like Ty.

by Anonymousreply 67April 11, 2018 5:00 AM

Alex went on to host "Joe Millionaire" (was that the name of it?). I seem to recall reading an interview with her after that, where she was going to move on from the "reality hosting" gigs. Always liked her laid back vibe much better than the jamming-my-perky-down-your-throat Paige.

I think overall I liked Vern's designs the best, but I remember discussing with friends back in the day, and we thought the best way to go would be Frank because you could most easily fix his stuff. Even if you didn't like his work, he wasn't fucking up your entire room.

Haven't seen the reunion yet...

by Anonymousreply 68April 11, 2018 5:50 AM

U could use Kodi to watch it

by Anonymousreply 69April 11, 2018 6:00 AM

I like Paige. Doug’s designs are tragically laughable.

by Anonymousreply 70April 11, 2018 9:26 AM

Yeah Frank's would be easy to fix. You can always repurpose corn husk dolls.

by Anonymousreply 71April 11, 2018 10:42 AM

I know her perkiness can get a bit irritating at times but I've always liked Paige, she was the only one that seemed to genuinely care about the homeowner's feelings, the designers would just get pissy and dismissive...and Hildy is just a mean bitch who does shit for shock value.

by Anonymousreply 72April 11, 2018 12:41 PM

I really liked Paige too. When the show got sold to new owners, the first thing they did was hire her back, so she was appealing to somebody.

by Anonymousreply 73April 11, 2018 1:31 PM

Count me as a Paige fan too. The show immediately lost its heart when they got rid of her.

by Anonymousreply 74April 11, 2018 10:59 PM

You forget how HUGE a franchise this thing was 12 or 15 years ago...it was EVERYWHERE.

Now TLC just has shows with circus folk.

by Anonymousreply 75April 12, 2018 3:51 AM

They're already into the gimmicks — Ty and Carter the Sexiest Sex Pest are the designers, not the carpenters, on this new episode.

by Anonymousreply 76April 15, 2018 1:05 AM

Crying Pam lost her left foot to diabetes.

Her blood sugar remained out of control and she died due to kidney failure.

by Anonymousreply 77April 15, 2018 1:17 AM

^Befote she died, she changed her name to Ilene because she couldn’t go anywhere without being recognized.

by Anonymousreply 78April 15, 2018 7:21 AM

Crying Pam was not sweet natured at all. She was this passive aggressive hen pecking frau throughout that entire show. I wasn't surprised at her reveal behavior at all.

by Anonymousreply 79April 15, 2018 10:05 AM

Crying Pam is dead? Sad.

by Anonymousreply 80April 15, 2018 12:58 PM

Why do Ty and Carter have greasy, week-long-drunk messy hair? So, Carter allegedly harasses women? And gay gossip on Ty?

I'm not a fan of Paige Davis' dark hair cut like the Sagal Twins' 1984 hair (or Kathleen Wilhoite's hair).

The new episodes' homeowners already are overloaded with beards and tattoos... sad sign of the times.

TLC is now playing older episodes of 'Trading Spaces' every day now (except for Alex McCloud's Season One) and I've been re-watching.

Ty was just so unbelievably and naturally hot! He'll be 54 this year!

I'm so glad TLC re-aired the episode where Kia made the bed that looked like a grave! Hilarious! Horrid room!

I notice a lot of the male homeowners in the Seasons Two and Three episodes have the Nineties Goatee. So, I guess that is the counterpart to today's ridiculous beard clones.

Edward's rooms were either over-the-top or just wonderful, never horrible. Why isn't he part of the new season? Where is Faber? I met him at a Home Show in Dallas in 2004 at the beer stand. He was even better looking in person!

I hate the new carpenters "who watched the show when they were little kids." Blech. Even the bearded "hot" one.

Where's Jason Cameron? Is he the only out-gay man from 'Trading Spaces' aside from Vern?

by Anonymousreply 81April 15, 2018 2:24 PM

Ty looks like a sleazy drunk.

by Anonymousreply 82April 15, 2018 2:32 PM

Your right Ty was incredibly hot back then, didn't see it then, but see it now!

I actually really liked Ty's design lastnight, and I was prepared to hate it. GAY GENE! He can design!

Carter's design looked like what a straight guy would think a frau heaven would look like. Ucch. And now whenever they show Carter, I keep thinking he's forcing some poor bitch to go down onvhim between takes

by Anonymousreply 83April 15, 2018 2:37 PM

Yes, ty's room was incredible! I agreed with Paige that it was one of the best rooms EVER on the show.

Carter's room with randomly hung dreamcatchers and flowers was ridiculous. How could that husband lie that he liked it?

Back in 2000-2004, Ty's body was just so perfect... I loved the episode where he jumped in the pool and was shirtless for much of the episode. I saw he had a little gut last night but that's okay for being almost 54. He just needs to do something with that hair.

Sad note: Faber's personal website has not been updated in 10 years.

by Anonymousreply 89April 15, 2018 3:11 PM

Hildi is evil...

by Anonymousreply 90April 15, 2018 3:13 PM

I liked Doug's design on the first episode of TS. It's not my personal taste, but it wasn't bad. Hildi hasn't changed with her horrific taste.

by Anonymousreply 91April 15, 2018 3:16 PM

I didn't know Faber is an actor.

by Anonymousreply 92April 15, 2018 3:22 PM

Vern, Doug and Frank have a secret side bet as to which one will get into John Gidding’s pants first.

($2,000 as a wink to the show’s expanded budget.)

by Anonymousreply 93April 15, 2018 3:23 PM

That clip they showed of the Frau who went ballistic because they painted her room a shade of brown - what a cunt! That actually beats the Crying Pam reaction, IMO. Actually shoving her friend (even if it was an Elaine-shove) and storming out of the room. I wish they had interviewed those couples too. They probably didn’t stay friends.

by Anonymousreply 94April 15, 2018 3:37 PM

R94, that was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 95April 15, 2018 3:38 PM

Loved when Amy Wynn really yelled at Hildi on a clip, shown during the reunion show. Amy was using an air hose nail pump? when putting a very heavy shelf... when Hildi pulled it away from her. Amy screamed... "Do you see what we're doing here?? What the fuck (bleeped out, but know what was said) are you doing??".... something along that line. I was like, YEAH Amy!

by Anonymousreply 96April 15, 2018 3:41 PM

*putting up* a very heavy shelf...

by Anonymousreply 97April 15, 2018 3:46 PM

Did Crying Pam really die?

by Anonymousreply 98April 15, 2018 4:52 PM

Most recently, Edward launched "The Edward Walker Collection" in partnership with Cuddlebugs-n-Cocoons to release a collection of fashion-forward teen bedding and accent pieces.

by Anonymousreply 99April 15, 2018 5:11 PM

Hi Edward!

by Anonymousreply 100April 15, 2018 5:15 PM

I can't stand Page. I won't watch since she's still on the show.

by Anonymousreply 101April 15, 2018 5:31 PM

R101 is Crying Pam, resurrected.

by Anonymousreply 102April 15, 2018 5:33 PM

Crying Pam's reveal was on YouTube and probably still is. She checked in and left like this four paragraph response to it. It was pretty funny. It's probably still there if you dig for it.

I had never seen John Gdding until last night. My first thought? "Where are the nude selfies?" Of course, that was immediately followed by, "I'm sure he's talented and intelligent."

by Anonymousreply 106April 15, 2018 6:10 PM

I agree with the posters upthread about Ty's and Carter's rooms last night.

Even while they were being done, I thought Carter's would be pleasant and Ty's a monstrosity. Instead it was just the opposite. I have no idea what all that crap Carter hung on the wall was supposed to be.

The only way to have saved that room would have been a nude Carter reclining on the trundle bed.

by Anonymousreply 107April 15, 2018 9:26 PM

Crying Pam's husband looks like Tony Soprano... lol.

by Anonymousreply 108April 15, 2018 9:35 PM

I remember speculation about Vern Yip's sexuality, and him shutting the gossip down that his sex life is private. Did he ever come out?

by Anonymousreply 109April 22, 2018 12:23 AM

I’m not in the medical field but cryin Pam could’ve saved her foot if she lost weight no?

by Anonymousreply 113April 22, 2018 1:54 AM

Did Hildi’s accent... lessen?

by Anonymousreply 114April 22, 2018 2:08 AM

I was really impressed at the rooms in tonight’s episode. Genevieve and Vern are so much better than Doug and Hildi.

by Anonymousreply 115April 22, 2018 5:38 AM

I loved Vern's room. I wasn't that wild about Genevieve's, but that's because I'm not a big fan of Moroccan decor.

by Anonymousreply 116April 22, 2018 6:29 AM

Is anyone watching Nate & Jeremiah By Design? There’s going to be a crossover next Saturday.

by Anonymousreply 117April 22, 2018 7:28 AM

I usually like the work like Vern and Genevieve do and sometimes Laurie but the rest are hit and miss except Hildy she's always a miss.

by Anonymousreply 118April 22, 2018 8:22 AM

Vern, Genevieve, and Ty had the most crossover success and it’s a result of their superior abilities.

by Anonymousreply 119April 22, 2018 11:51 AM

Did Vern get some plastic surgery? His face seemed kind of...tight on this latest episode.

by Anonymousreply 120April 23, 2018 1:46 PM

I was watching some of the 2001-2004 episodes this weekend and have concluded:

Doug was flying high on cocaine the entire time!

Sweaty, bitchy, and arrogant... Coke fiend!

by Anonymousreply 121April 28, 2018 10:38 PM

Really? He never offered to share...even after that time we got drunk and I let him blow me.

by Anonymousreply 122April 29, 2018 12:50 AM

I really like the rooms tonight. Not entirely sure why Frank was there, but Nate and Jeremiah did a nice job.

by Anonymousreply 123April 29, 2018 12:53 AM

Eat, Live, Pray

by Anonymousreply 124April 29, 2018 1:12 AM

I forgot who the designer was but the best room was one where they really took the owners needs into account. They lived in an older house and their bedroom was a disaster. The wood floor was in terrible shape as was the wall. Mostly all they did was work on the floor. The sanded it and refurbed it. Then they painted it black and put a finish on it that made it shine like glass. Then they repaired and painted the walls a light turquoise. Kept the furniture. Bought some new linens and things and a nice ceiling light. It looked fantastic and the couple was thrilled. I'd say 90% of the time was spent fixing the deathtrap that was the floor.

by Anonymousreply 125April 29, 2018 1:18 AM

Why are Nate and Jeremiah helping the Little People, Big World family? Aren’t they known homophobes?

by Anonymousreply 126April 29, 2018 1:49 AM

Tonight's episode was dullsville. Can we nix having outsider guest designers please? I ain't watching this show to see interlopers. Got to give the regular designers credit for eagerly selling the drama and chaos, especially when working with not the most interesting couples.

by Anonymousreply 127April 29, 2018 5:20 AM

Preview for next week hinted that one of the homeowners is not pleased with the end result. I think Hildi is one of the designers so it wouldn’t surprise me!

by Anonymousreply 128April 29, 2018 6:06 AM

I MISSED THE LAST TWO WEEKS BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TIME IT'S ON!!!

wasn't it on at 9 and/or 10 before?

by Anonymousreply 129April 29, 2018 7:23 AM

Jeremiah is my ideal sassy bottom boyfriend. But what’s up with him and Nate in love with neutrals?

by Anonymousreply 130April 29, 2018 12:38 PM

^ “ideal sassy bottom boyfriend” Love it, haha. Can that term become a new thing?

by Anonymousreply 131April 29, 2018 1:09 PM

Jeremiah is cute as fuck when he’s not talking.

by Anonymousreply 132April 29, 2018 1:23 PM

Wasn’t Jeremiah a bit more butch when he was on The Rachel Zoe Project?

by Anonymousreply 133April 29, 2018 1:36 PM

Jeremiah could have been a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race and he still would have been more butch than he was on Trading Spaces last night.

by Anonymousreply 134April 29, 2018 3:20 PM

I have no idea who this Jeremiah guy is other than Nate's husband. Is he a designer by trade or designer by injection/marriage? I liked his rom but Nate's was so dull. Those stupid striped fabric pieces--did they really need to ruin the drywall under them by nailing every quarter inch? And thanks for using the storage as tacky lampshades. What a hack.

by Anonymousreply 135April 29, 2018 4:18 PM

I preferred Jeremiah's room to Nate's. I have seen a couple of episodes of their show and they have a dull color palette. White, gray, black, blue, blue-gray, beige, and if they are feeling sassy a little green! I agree with r127.

by Anonymousreply 136April 29, 2018 5:50 PM

So...is that it for Frank this season?

by Anonymousreply 137April 30, 2018 12:58 AM

R127 I also liked Jeremiah's room better. Nate added some nice shelving and those storage cabinets to his room, but that was about it.

The tall DILF hubby working with Jeremiah was hot as hell, though, and was pinging like crazy for me. I wonder if he slipped Jeremiah or Nate his number after the show was finished taping.

by Anonymousreply 138April 30, 2018 11:46 AM

R137 I have a feeling this was a "one and done" appearance for Frank; he seems to be retired. I have to say, though, he looks pretty much the same, 18 years after he first appeared on the show.

by Anonymousreply 139April 30, 2018 11:47 AM

damn, i just got a massive shit pain while reading this stupid thread. must be a sign.

by Anonymousreply 140April 30, 2018 11:50 AM

When are they going to do a While You Were Out reunion? Evan Farmer has turned into a bit of a silver daddy and Jason Cameron is still roided up as ever.

by Anonymousreply 141April 30, 2018 12:51 PM
The tall DILF hubby working with Jeremiah was hot as hell, though, and was pinging like crazy for me.

I felt the same thing. He seemed slightly uncomfortable around Jeremiah, and I couldn’t tell if it was "straight guy unease" or "closeted gay guy unease".

by Anonymousreply 142April 30, 2018 2:41 PM

The latter. Dude craves the D.

by Anonymousreply 143April 30, 2018 9:27 PM

I'm with you guys, that husband broke my gaydar. I thought he was part of a gay couple when I was half-watching the beginning, and just heard the gay voice. His eyes were too beautiful, and his hair was perfect, he has to be bisexual if nothing else. Thought Jeremiah's room was really nice, better than the usual Trading Spaces fare. Looks like next week they've got Hildy and Clinton from that "What Not To Wear" show, or wahtever it was called, purposely messing the rooms up to get a reaction from the black homeowners. Getting too gimmicky already.

by Anonymousreply 144May 1, 2018 4:28 AM
The tall DILF hubby working with Jeremiah was hot as hell, though, and was pinging like crazy for me. I wonder if he slipped Jeremiah or Nate his number after the show was finished taping.

I think you’re wrong. He slipped his number to the hunky carpenter.

by Anonymousreply 145May 6, 2018 12:03 AM

Oh boy these homeowners have opinions. This one lady really doesn’t like brown. Wonder if Hildi will mess up her room.

by Anonymousreply 146May 6, 2018 12:18 AM

Bring back Evan Farmer, Jason Cameron, and Alex McLeod!!!

by Anonymousreply 147May 6, 2018 12:25 AM

They should have hired the Carlson twins as carpenters.

by Anonymousreply 148May 6, 2018 12:30 AM

Both these rooms sound awful. And to make matters worse, neither of the homeowners seem like particularly good sports.

by Anonymousreply 149May 6, 2018 12:30 AM

Did Alex McLeod invent Vocal Fry?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 150May 6, 2018 12:34 AM

Oh my gosh I’ve never seen such an awkward reveal before. “What the fuck?” That woman was such a bitch! For once I really liked Hildi’s design, but, wow did that lady not like it!

by Anonymousreply 151May 6, 2018 1:01 AM

Is this a black thing? The other homeowner was like “hell no!”

by Anonymousreply 152May 6, 2018 1:04 AM

Boy, that was painful. Poor Paige.

by Anonymousreply 153May 6, 2018 1:07 AM

Both rooms were awful. This show is so fucking basic. I can’t decide if I hate Ty or Clinton more. Stacy London should have beat the shit out of Clinton years ago.

by Anonymousreply 154May 6, 2018 1:23 AM

Countch. A word I never want to hear again.

by Anonymousreply 155May 6, 2018 2:37 AM

I thought the homeowner who accessorized her outfit was going to be a nightmare but thought she actually was a pretty good sport considering she was working with Hildi (although to be fair Hildi reined in the crazy this time). The other woman and her fucking obsession with Prince came off much worse.

by Anonymousreply 156May 6, 2018 2:38 AM

Those fricking painted leaves looked as if drawn by children. Horrible. And those autumnal colors repeated on that stupid wall treatment with the two-by-ones was nauseating. The bar--the only good feature--looked out of place as it had no design or color connection to anything else in the room. Absolutely atrocious. But entertaining because that wife was a pain. If you apply to go on the show, you play by the rules, you dont design the room..

by Anonymousreply 157May 6, 2018 2:47 AM

The woman who accessorized her outfit was looking for her own reality show. Didn't you notice?

Clinton looked hungover, as did Ty.

by Anonymousreply 158May 6, 2018 12:41 PM

I didn't see the newest episode because I accidentally recorded the wrong one.

But the husband of the blonde chick in the Nate/Jeremiah episode epitomized "Dumb as a box of rocks." That vacant stare he had whenever he was onscreen was painful to watch.

And the scene where blonde chick reveals to Frank that her child was in cancer remission was so scripted.

And Paige is totally banging that muscley carpenter guy.

by Anonymousreply 159May 7, 2018 8:37 PM

The Prince lady was a raging twat. The leaves were ugly but her only gripe was that it wasn't a Prince memorial shrine? "I wanted ONE Prince item. JUST ONE!" Bitch, you got multiple Prince items and they were pointed out to you. Was she trolling with her complaint that, "He never drove a red Corvette?!"

by Anonymousreply 160May 10, 2018 5:01 AM

The ending of this week's episode made me weirdly sad.

by Anonymousreply 161May 13, 2018 1:06 AM

R161, did Ty die in a freak accident?

by Anonymousreply 162May 13, 2018 1:08 AM

Me too R161 I think Laurie really elevated their room. It was elegant but comfortable still. The husband really acted like a boob.

by Anonymousreply 163May 13, 2018 1:12 AM

I thought I was going to loathe Laurie's room as I'm over those farmhouse doors but I thought the room was gorgeous in the end. That couple had a weird reaction to it. I can't see what they felt was missing; you can still see the kitchen if you want, and you can still watch the TV when you want. . .

by Anonymousreply 164May 13, 2018 1:37 AM

Sabrina is kind of a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 165May 13, 2018 2:49 AM

I just caught up on last week's episode with the couples in Baltimore. Hildi, as usual, created a crime scene. Her tastes haven't evolved one bit since the 1990s. I like Clinton's room, except for the ridiculous stripper pole and disco ball.

The women in this episode were total bitches with shitty attitudes, though, so maybe Hildi and Clinton purposely fucked their rooms.

by Anonymousreply 166May 13, 2018 2:50 AM

I don’t understand people who go on Trading Spaces and freak out when their space is transformed. Do they not get the premise of the show?

by Anonymousreply 167May 13, 2018 3:30 AM

I thought the green-gold walls were a much more interesting color than that French gray.

by Anonymousreply 168May 13, 2018 4:02 AM

LOL OMG I forgot about the graveyard bed. Did Kia ever do a nice room?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 169May 13, 2018 4:16 AM

I thought Laurie's room was very chic, and like R164 I'm not a fan of farmhouse doors, but it ended up looking a million times better. The frau said it was "way too formal". You had to only look at their giant black overstuffed leather furniture, to have gotten an idea of their awful taste. They would have probably loved barcaloungers with built in beer coolers and a 100" TV....idiots.

by Anonymousreply 170May 13, 2018 4:28 AM

The designers all look like ghouls. It's a terrible way to live, to be reminded that low level talent only grows older and more desperate for attention. I only watched a few of the originals when I was in grade school, but that Doug, Laurie and Hildy look like monsters now. Cut your fucking hair old people. You look old AND stupid. This idea is stale. Its too gay.

by Anonymousreply 171May 13, 2018 4:48 AM

r171 is Kia.

by Anonymousreply 172May 13, 2018 5:33 AM

All of the designers look amazing, and the show could be gayer R171.

by Anonymousreply 173May 13, 2018 12:19 PM

In spite of his trash taste, I kind of fell in love with Dave over the course of the episode. It's refreshing to see a husband be such an awesome sport and be so involved in everything. Usually they're stripped of all energy and enthusiasm from years of exhausting married life and wander around like zombies. He was very sweet and enthusiastic and seemed like he actually LIKED his wife, which is rare.

The end had be scratching my head like an episode of Twin Peaks, though. I honestly thought when they saw Laurie's makeover they were crying tears of joy! I thought, "Wow, both reveals went so well, both pairs of homeowners were moved to tears!" Then we cut to that weird behind the scenes footage of them admitting they hated it. And as they were complaining about it, we were seeing them hugging the neighbors like they were expressing some kind of deep, emotional gratitude.

It was so damn weird.

by Anonymousreply 174May 13, 2018 12:57 PM

I always liked the concept of the show but there were just too many humorless fraus as contestants.

by Anonymousreply 175May 13, 2018 6:58 PM

Humorless fraus who cried at the big reveal is what put this show on the map, babe.

by Anonymousreply 176May 13, 2018 7:11 PM

The husband decorating the room with Stephanie was kind of a sexy DILF. I don't understand why he didn't like his own room, though. It looked a helluva lot better after Laurie finished it than it did before.

by Anonymousreply 177May 13, 2018 7:21 PM

I guess they were hoping for a room with a lot of open space for their brat loaves to run wild in.

by Anonymousreply 178May 13, 2018 8:18 PM

R178 They have a huge yard. Send the brats out there.

by Anonymousreply 179May 13, 2018 9:27 PM

Doe anyone recall if Trading Spaces ever did an episode featuring a same sex couple? I don't remember ever seeing one.

by Anonymousreply 180May 13, 2018 9:28 PM

r180 I'm pretty sure it was a pair of lezzies who were cursed with the infamous hay walls.

by Anonymousreply 181May 13, 2018 9:34 PM

R181 That's right! I'm amazed Hildie ever became successful as a designer. 90% of the stuff she did for Trading Spaces was shit. Like the circus big top living room or the wine bottle wallpaper for the couple that didn't drink.

by Anonymousreply 182May 13, 2018 9:42 PM

R180 There was also the gay male couple who got a solid white room and one of the guys threw a tantrum. They were featured on the reunion show at the beginning of the season and converted the room to a poorly lit old lady's room.

by Anonymousreply 183May 13, 2018 9:52 PM

Hildie was a decoratress for Marlo Thomas at one point.

by Anonymousreply 184May 13, 2018 9:52 PM

The couple who got the wine label wall were surprisingly likable, considering he was a minister.

by Anonymousreply 185May 13, 2018 9:57 PM

Back in April, TLC was showing blocks of past episodes every day. There were 3 same sex couples amongst those 2001-2005 episodes, well, six, since three times two equals six.

The one from 2005 had two gay couples in giant loft-type abodes. Hildi did one and used pink faux fur, which the queens loved. The other designer was that Laura who was talent-free.

Plus, there were several episodes with Gay Best Friends helping out the female home-owners throughout the years.

by Anonymousreply 186May 13, 2018 9:59 PM

Has Carter presented hole yet?

by Anonymousreply 187May 13, 2018 10:00 PM

R186 I watched Trading Spaces pretty regularly when it first was on, but I'm having trouble remembering the same sex couple episodes.

by Anonymousreply 188May 13, 2018 10:02 PM

R187 Carter is too busy giving facials in his trailer.

by Anonymousreply 189May 13, 2018 10:05 PM

I remember watching the original run when I was in High School. I would gasp when he came on.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 190May 13, 2018 10:10 PM

1. 2005 with Hildi and Laura, the pink fur that the gays loved.

2. Doug did the all-white room while Hildi did the all black room for their sets of gays. (Hildi's room was beloved while Doug's all-white room was a travesty, leading one of the queens to almost succumb to his distract nerves).

3. Lesbian soccer players, where Hildi had her face painted on the wall as "art." One set of the Lesbians said "our bed" so that qualifies them as being out.

There: that's three episodes of gay couples somewhere in 2001-2005.

Plus there were two different episodes where gay men and straight women worked together on rooms.

by Anonymousreply 191May 13, 2018 10:10 PM

Please remind me , why they let Paige go In the first place ?

by Anonymousreply 192May 13, 2018 10:11 PM

They should have brought back Alex McLeod!!!!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 193May 13, 2018 10:13 PM

R150 , this site is suppose to be for Gay males. We don't give a shit about Gross female feets.

by Anonymousreply 194May 13, 2018 10:13 PM

The producers thought the show would work better without a host. Viewers felt otherwise so after a season of tanking ratings, they brought Paige back. But with Paige, they also brought in a new twist no one cared for: some interpseronal drama that would be worked out between the two teams through the episode. I.e. I laws who dont get along "trade spaces" The houses weren't even in the same town in some instances and the drama was really a distraction. The show show was canceled at the end of that season.

by Anonymousreply 195May 13, 2018 10:15 PM

I'd never seen anything like it on TV. Them dumped Paige and the ratings immediately tumbled. I wonder who made that stupid move.

by Anonymousreply 196May 13, 2018 10:24 PM

I wonder how the reboot is doing. It's going to be depressing if it gets canceled again as soon as this season is over.

by Anonymousreply 197May 13, 2018 11:12 PM

I caught an episode over the weekend. So boring! Was it always this boring? One couple loved their room, the other couple hated their room (“too formal”???) and Page was aggressively cheerful throughout. Zzzz.

by Anonymousreply 198May 13, 2018 11:22 PM
Doe anyone recall if Trading Spaces ever did an episode featuring a same sex couple? I don't remember ever seeing one.

There was an episode where a gay couple (one white guy, one Asian guy) from LA got their room made over by Gen. They worked on their neighbors' room with Laurie, and it was clear she loved them as much as they loved her. It was probably my favorite episode of the series, because both homeowners got good-looking rooms, and everybody had fun. The husband in the second couple was a guitarist for Slash, and he stopped by the house the second day of filming.

I think the faux fur queens knew Hildi was going to rip up their carpet, and so they pulled up a section and wrote "WORK THOSE HEELS!" in big letters for her to find.

by Anonymousreply 199May 13, 2018 11:28 PM

Bump for last night’s episode.

John Gidding is easy on the eyes.

by Anonymousreply 200May 20, 2018 7:45 PM

Gen needs to wear shoes. And stop shoving her wallpaper line down our throats. That birchwood print was not good. I liked her room, though but the glorified contact paper has to go..

I liked John's room but that cross-knit thing looked awful. And what were those things on the wall on the right, if looking from the door to the craft area? It looked like a rew paintings followed by several iddly-arranged coat hooks.

by Anonymousreply 201May 20, 2018 8:44 PM

John was definitely cute. Very gay. I liked his room, except for the half-finished cross-knit monstrosity. He should have gone all or nothing on that. His paint color choices were great, though.

I liked Genevieve's room, but I agree that the wallpaper was gross. It looked like dirty specs all over the wall. Wallpaper in this day and age? No. Great job with the fireplace, however.

by Anonymousreply 202May 20, 2018 11:11 PM

John Giddings is a dreamboat. That said, there was too much crammed into that little room and it looked very Pinterest-y i.e., fine, but no wow factor. Plus, cutesy femmy craft rooms do absolutely nothing for me. Give me an ugly yet practical craft room. Genevieve's room lacked color and contrast and the wallpaper didn't work and the ugly sofa should've gotten the heave-ho instead of enlarged with a gigantic non-matching ottoman shoved flush against it. I liked the fireplace redo though.

by Anonymousreply 203May 20, 2018 11:12 PM

I love Brett. He's what Billy Eichner would look like if Billy Eichner was attractive.

by Anonymousreply 204May 21, 2018 12:29 AM

I watched an old episode last night where uberfrau Christi worked with a gay couple and it was hilarious. The bottom had a contagious laugh and took it upon himself during the homework overnight to paint stripes on the walls. Paige and Christi walked in and gasped like it was a crime scene. Paige flat-out told him it looked like crap. Meanwhile, Doug was working with a pair of lesbians in the same building. One of them knew how to state her boundaries VERY well and dominated him like a ragdoll. Part of the reason it was funny was because of the total role reversals--the women excelled with the hardcore carpentry work and the men knew their way around a sewing machine.

There was even a cameo from a drag queen. The only thing that could have made it better was if Ty was working the episode. I would have been interested to see how he interacted with the queens.

by Anonymousreply 205May 22, 2018 6:05 PM

Carpenter Joanie looks way different than she did when she was a contestant on America's Next Top Model. But she still seems like a sweetheart. I remember she was a minister's daughter who worked in a strip club and had some crooked teeth which Tyra (bless her heart) got fixed. I think she may have made it to the final two. Nice to see she was smart enough to get a real career and not pursue modeling.

by Anonymousreply 206May 22, 2018 6:46 PM

There was also an episode with four gay guys. They embellished their Trading Spaces shirts with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. A clip was featured on the reunion show.

by Anonymousreply 207May 22, 2018 7:36 PM

R207 I believe that was also the infamous white room episode where the asian chap had a meltdown. Doug is a cunt. If the homeowners specifically say they hate all white and embrace color why the fuck did you ruin their room and paint it all white and throw in white furniture and rugs?

by Anonymousreply 210May 23, 2018 1:36 PM

This was a short season. I just saw a promo that teased the season finale.

by Anonymousreply 211May 23, 2018 2:17 PM

r211 Yeah, I was surprised to see the season finale promo. I know the premiere did really well but I wonder if it's struggling now.

by Anonymousreply 212May 23, 2018 2:32 PM

TLC, in all their wisdom, only shot eight episodes as a test, fearing people may not respond. Its supposedly filming again, having surprised TLC, who forgot people will watch TV shows that dont feature cunty midgets.

by Anonymousreply 213May 23, 2018 10:47 PM

Wow, I had no idea that was Joanie from ANTM!

by Anonymousreply 214May 24, 2018 1:46 AM

Paige's hubby's name is Patrick Page. So I guess that makes her Page Paige?

by Anonymousreply 215May 25, 2018 3:07 AM

No, it would be Paige Page

by Anonymousreply 216May 25, 2018 3:47 AM

Technically, it would be Mindy Page Davis Paige.

by Anonymousreply 217May 25, 2018 10:58 AM

The episode with the black/white rooms was so hard to watch. The Asian queen was sobbing way harder than Crying Pam ever did.

by Anonymousreply 218May 25, 2018 5:01 PM

Holy shit, does nobody remember the California: Peralta Street episode?! I felt like I was watching a Trading Asylums special. The two sets of homeowners played in a band, and one of them, who was like the neurotic lovechild of Charlie Chaplin and Tiny Tim, broke into song at random moments throughout the episode. I'm not sure he could have broken 5 feet tall if he stood on his tippy toes. Meanwhile, the woman he shared the home with, who I'm not sure was supposed to be his beard, his home health worker, or his gym teacher, was probably well over 6 foot, and she was terrifying.

I think the production crew might have been taking the piss out on them when they started painting. For no apparent reason but to draw attention to the size difference between them, they gave Tiny Tim an entire ladder, and gave Brunnhilde a step stool. When he started serenading Hildi about the fireplace they were decorating I was wheezing with laughter. I pictured his gladiatrix girlfriend cracking a whip at him throughout the day screaming "SING FOR MAMA YOU LITTLE BITCH!!!!"

by Anonymousreply 219June 26, 2018 8:43 PM

Despite the small order for Season 9, I think TLC expected a lot more from this revival. They had previous seasons airing for several hours every afternoon lined up, as well as many episodes from S2 through S8 available On Demand. I had everything set to record so I could relive the older shows. This went on for almost two weeks, and I checked my DVR, and there was at least another week and a half of afternoon episodes set to air on the DVR - and then suddenly, there was nothing. No upcoming airings of the older episodes and NO On Demand.

I think they thought people would be re-watching the older stuff in the afternoons while waiting for the new Saturday episodes. I would guess that the afternoon blocks failed to grab ratings, so TLC trashed the whole concept.

Which is sad for me because I was really loving re-watching the older shows.
