I've always thought she was very underrated. She excelled in dramatic roles and comic ones. Her Billie in Creepshow is one of the most divine comic creations of the past 40 years. I met at a convention once and the line was wrapped around the block all weekend long. Everyone adored her. Hell, I think her line was as long as Robert Englund's on some days. She's definitely beloved by horror and sci-fi fans.

Back in the early '80s, she and then-husband John Carpenter did some work trying to eradicate child prostitution. She said it ended when she discovered nobody else in Hollywood would give any money or time to the cause, because many of them were participating in it!

The perm ruined her. She would have had an iconic look if not for the fluffy hair.

I had no idea about the child prostitution thing. That's horrifying and not surprising. She and Carpenter have always come across as good, likable people.

Adrienne said that she was never considered for the movie of "Grease" because it was an Allan Carr package and she didn't have anything to do with him at the time.

I've met her and she's an absolute doll. She really is an overlooked actress. I'm not saying she's Streep level or anything, but she was able to make a lot of things work that lesser actors could never pull off. She always did fear and comedy really well - the two that seem to be the hardest for most actors to pull off well.

Marcia Rodd did the Maude pilot and Adrienne took over when the series was picked up. They couldn't have been more different but I preferred Adrienne who's sweetness balanced Bea's caustic remarks.

Rodd was also in the AITF episode where she brings her kid to the Bunker house claiming he's Mike's. In both shows, she was very abrasive and unpleasant.

Her memoir really is one of the more interesting and fun ones I've read. She's blunt, funny, and seems to look back on everything with a great deal of humor and amusement. She never seems angry or bitter about anything. She has had a pretty interesting career though from musical comedy on Broadway to hit sitcoms to well-regarded horror and sci-fi classics to campy b-movie junk and back again. Seems like a fun career.

Marcia Rodd was the original Mabel in M&M, fired and replaced by singer Kelly Garrett, fired and replaced by Bernadette Peters, who was the obvious choice all along.

I don't get the butterface comment at all. She's a certain kind of gorgeous. A little bit masculine in her facial structure but such a feminine body and beautiful smile. Hair and brows and facial symmetry that many women would envy. Because she was quite small these attributes might overwhelm her at times, but I think she's a very sexy and pretty woman. And funny and a bit tough. Solid and versatile actress who seems happy with her life and career. I did see her reunited with Bea Arthur on some talk show - must have been Rosie? It's clear they never stayed in touch but their affection seemed genuine. I've seen old clips of her singing on Carson where her decolletage, dramatic coloring and beautiful face were impressive. Ha. Not a great singer, she has that unfortunate break between her chest and head voice but a lot of the seventies actresses sang like that. The same year he directed and wrote the horror classic Halloween in 1978 he also directed the TV movie Someone is Watching Me! where he met Adrienne and Lauren Hutton starred, and he wrote the camp classic Faye Dunaway vehicle, The Eyes of Laura Mars. He also wrote the campy made for TV movie ZUMA BEACH starring Suzanne Somers, at that time Chrissy Snow from Three's Company, Halloween 's PJ SOLES, Rosanna Arquette, and Michael Beihn.
