Definately had a crush on him Troy era. He made a perfect and beautiful Hector. Even watched his sketch comedy show from the late 90's when he was a comedian in Australia. It was short lived but I quite liked some of the sketches. He was still what you might call athletically pudgy during that show, he got into good shape when he got into films.

And also very terrible. No matter what role he plays he can't keep the Australian accent down, which is a bit of a problem when you're playing King Henry VIII.

I enjoyed him in 'The Castle' decades ago. Since then he has never failed to disappoint

That was an episode on DATELINE on NBC. It was boring. Hope it works out better as a tv series. Bana is hot, so beautiful in MUNICH. Too bad he just didn’t find roles to give him the stardom he deserved.

A strange career. Was supposed to be big . Isn’t.

Between the daughters' vocal-fry-on-helium voices and the cringey girl-band cover of "I Ran," I had to stop the trailer halfway through.

Bravo's attempt to compete with HBO limited series? They need 8 episodes to tell this story? I got the gist of it from the trailer. Lonely rich bitch gets conned by sinister grifter. He has a rather unattractive female accomplice. The daughters don't like him and set out to find the dirt/truth about him. He acts super creepy around them because he is a sinister creep. They try to warn Mom. She won't listen. He gaslights rich bitch when she starts to suspect something but it takes her many hours, 8 to be exact, to realize he's not a good person. It doesn't end well for.... someone. The End.

The interesting thing about his career is that what he really wanted to do was be a comic, and he was so handsome he hit it big instead in Australia as an actor. His looks and talent convinced Hollywood he could make it as a big star here, but he didn't have that kind of star quality onscreen to keep him in big roles.

I also think he's not superambitious for Hollywood. To make it big in Hollywood you generally have to have an incredible driving ambition to be a star, and I don't think he had that--I don't think he liked Hollywood. There aren't many people who can make it really big in Hollywood without that (Hedy Lamarr was one of the few).

The miniseries is kind of hilarious--it's like one of the bad Netflix TV movies about successful women being trapped in murderous relationships personally tailored to 30+ hausfraus that Kimmy Schmidt watches, like "To Have and To Murder" ("You leave Annie Potts alone, Treat Williams!").

Hope it's so bad it's good cause I sure could use a distraction from the Shit Show.

I've always assumed he was an Italian Aussie, he's not. His dad was Croatian and his mom, German.
