The New Fox News: Sinclair Media. This is Really Important

It's been covered on Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes, but not for awhile. We have to keep paying attention. Sinclair has been quietly and slowly buying local stations throughout the country specifically to promote Trump Propaganda. It's very scary.

Most Americans don’t know it exists. Primetime US news refers to it as an “under-the-radar company”. Unlike Fox News and Rupert Murdoch, virtually no one outside of business circles could name its CEO. And yet, Sinclair Media Group is the owner of the largest number of TV stations in America.

“Sinclair’s probably the most dangerous company most people have never heard of,” said Michael Copps, the George W Bush-appointed former chairman of Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the top US broadcast regulator.

The local NBC affiliate here in San Antonio is Sinclair, I won't watch it.

The local ABC channel in Wash DC (channel 7) was bought by Sinclair.

They have been buying and converting stations for at least the past two years now, while doing their best to stay under the radar.

Try to get thru the initial commercials, and watch Chris Hayes coverage on it...

We really are watching a slow motion coup. Dems need to wake up.

The thing that struck me about all those tacky anchors reading this statement is how willing they seem to be in joining in on the fascist bandwagon. Zero integrity from a bunch of Nazis who would say anything to keep wearing pretty clothes and have their faces on teevee.

The UK has very strict rules about media honesty and integrity when reporting the news. America needs to fix how the media is allowed to operate like a right-wing propaganda machine. This shit is really scary and sad.

R9 Exactly. They're desensitized. It will become the accepted norm unless we work as hard and fast as we can. Groups of Democrats need to congregate in these small towns and cities where Sinclair is taking over and march in protest in front of the tv stations.

Also, they should be joined by true Conservative Republicans. On this issue, they are on the same side as we are. They see their party being hijacked and subverted and in many ways are even more furious as they see their representatives sitting back and doing nothing, (like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, etc.).
