According to world-famous photographer Pina Di Cola, you are photogenic.

I can't tell if I've gotten less photogenic over the years or just come out uglier than I really am in cell phone pictures.

Flatter faces photograph better, there are fewer shadows to distort things

I had a friend that was beautiful but she looked Awful in pictures. you couldn't even tell it was her.

I have friend thats just the opposite r4.....shes older, wrinkled, out of shape, and looks tired......in pictures, she looks like a slightly aging supermodel....and 20 years younger. Seriously.

Now that I think about it, I know another person like that....I dont think theyre attractive at all, but when I went to her house for the first time, I noticed some photos of this beautiful woman and asked who she was...everyone started laughing because I would not believe it was my friend. She looked like a movie star.

I hope not. I'd rather believe I'm more attractive in real life than in photos lol.

With photoshop YES! Look 25 years younger!

Lets not include photoshop here....that deserves its own thread.....this is about people who are or are not photogenic.

Do you feel you look better in the mirror than photos? Maybe because there's (at least some) movement in the mirror.

Gotta take lighting with the mirror into account too: harsh fluorescence, flatteringly dim "candlelight" etc.

Same. PS has a surface blur tool (or something like that) that removes every flaw. It's awesome.

I'm not. I look terrible in pics. Especially ones with dark lighting. In person, I've been told many times how beautiful i am.

Not at all photogenic. My reflection in a store window? Yup, I like it. And then I glance up at the surveillance camera monitor and I look like a ghoul. Look in the mirror, looks fine; take a photo at the exact angle and lighting, and it’s gruesome.

But I feel good about myself, and that’s what matters.

I know people who are the opposite, not sure what’s better.

My father was photogenic an advertising agency wanted to use him in their commercials but he was shy and declined. I look awful in photos.

Unfortunately not. The whole clichèd year book photo situation is a nightmare for me. There are nice pictures of me, but take a random one and it probably sucks. I'm fairly positive I'm not photogenic instead of just vain and ugly, because people always seemed to react to photos the same way I felt about them, including honest surprise at how bad a picture was.

Sometimes I look okay and other times I look terrible. I was on video once for someones wedding and I dreaded seeing it but was surprised not only at how well I looked but how well I spoke. (am an extremely shy person)

I am very photogenic, I take a great picture. But I'm very average in the looks department.

I'm very unphotogenic. In pictures, I look my age and the booze shows.

But in real life, I look decades younger. And very fresh.

I've learned to ignore photos. They are not real.

I have a very angular face and in photographs I’m generally very ugly—except for the ones they take on roller coasters. In video I look pretty to beautiful. I also photograph much heavier than I am. I know two other women that are average to thin who also photograph fat. It’s odd.

I've been told that though I do not photograph well, and my nose is as large as a penis, I could have been a model. I know I am smashing in person.

I photograph much better if my face is turned slightly to the left... because it isn't symmetrical. And no flash! And back up at least 4-5 feet. And take the pic from above.

No. My face has too many peculiar angles. I look like a painting of Dora Maar when I'm photographed.

Hate to admit this but I definitely look better in photo's than I do in daily life. My family have even commented on it.

Super ugly in photos. Avoid being in them at all costs. Can only hope not to be that fug in real life.

I've noticed some celebs look a lot better in films or tv than in pics. I don't understand that either.

I look hideous in photos but when I look in the mirror I am quite attractive, and other people find me very attractive as well. Many people have also commented how strange it is that i look like such utter shit in photos when I look great in real life. One of the factors contributing to my crappy photos are my heavy eye lids end up dropping when pics are taken making me look half dead, deathly Ill or evil. It seems like it's getting worse every year. I was much more photogenic when I was younger, what the Fuck changed????!

I know a chubby very pretty woman who looks utterly gorgeous in all photos. It’s something about her skin tone that glows on film

Cellphone cameras have wide lenses. They distort your face and more so in selfies taken from close up.

Longer or standard lenses of 50mm or more are better for portraits.

I looked decent, when younger, in photos. Now, I don't want my photo taken for my driver's license. I look horrible in photographs.

Not really. I don't take a great picture. there are some exceptions, and there are some good pics of me, but overall, I'd so no.

I look great as last by as the lighting is low to non existent.

I feel a bit like the Seinfeld two-faced lady when it comes to photographs - at times stunning, at other times like a real dog. At my friends place I look great because the lighting is great from every angle.

I'm not photogenic (mainly because I don't trust the camera, or rather the people behind the camera), but in person I can be quite attractice if I am in the right mood. I've met people who are the opposite. And there are people who are both.

Liv Ullmann is a great example. In the same film (moving pictures) she can look stunning and other times plain bordering on slightly retarted. And then gorgeous again.

There's an actress I've met who looks great for her age in pictures and film. IRL she's very thin, almost painfully so. The camera does add a good 10 pounds and I still find that very disturbing.

I look better in person I make weird facial expressions in pictures that are beyond my control and my smiles tend to look forced =/

I am attractive in person but I am so unphotogenic that no one ever recognizes me in photos. I am always told "that's not you" or "you don't look like that". I don't know how I can look that different.

A new friend recently said to me wow you really take a bad photo. I guess a lot of people would be upset to hear that but I was so pleased. For years I've looked at photos of myself and thought, fuck, I must be really ugly. To hear someone say you're not ugly, you're just really, really un-photogenic was such a relief.

Not at all. I'm ugly in real life and ugly in photos.

But unless you're going to be embalmed and put in a glass case for show, it's better to be photogenic and leave pretty pictures behind.

The common response to meeting me in person after seeing a photo of me is "Gawd, you look SO much better in person".

I am like Marshall in how I met your mother. He could never take a good photo while on the other hand Barney always looked fantastic in photos no matter the circumstance. I suppose I should be more grateful that at least the general public finds me to be drop dead gorgeous in person but it really boggles my mind and kills me on the inside when I look at photos of myself and I see a beast!

I truly look terrible on pics and I'm not that good looking to start with, and as you can guess I don't see much dick either.
