Extroverts often hate introverts for not talking much and making them feel uncomfortable.

Try going to college parties when there are extroverts from the theatre there! It's CRINGEY watching them all compete.

What are you on about? Extroverts LOVE introverts. They make a great, captive audience. Too polite (too scared, more likely *lol*) to just stand up and go, or even worse: Take the spotlight away from the extrovert.

It sounds like an attractive extrovert stole your husband, OP.
FYI: you're not exactly looking good by starting this thread.

It’s hilarious, these two distinctive traits. Extroverts blaming introverts for not joining in, introverts blaming extroverts for stealing scenes. I was in this training camp a couple of weeks ago, and we had an interesting session on personalities. All participants, about 75 of us excluding group tutors, were divided into two large groups according to being extro-or intro- ( we did an MBTI beforehand) and sent to opposite ends of the lecture room, and were told to list what you hate most about the other group. Of course the extroverts started right off, loud and exuberant, while the introverts didn’t start until after a dead quiet 3 minutes of looking at each other. By the end of the session, what each group had on the list was basically the hallmarks of the other group, and we all had a good laugh sharing the lists.

IMO, It depends on if the extrovert is kind or nasty, OP. I have an ex who enjoyed making comments that offended people and loved to argue. It was exhausting and he turned people off (including me). My current partner, on the other hand, is warm and kind, and a fantastic storyteller. People are drawn to my him, his manner and smile.

According to Carl Jung, the correct spelling is ExtrAvert. Apparently, extrOvert is just plain bad Latin.

OP here, just a little introvert. No problems here. Just a smart, wonderful person who doesn't like noise and people. But loves doughnuts.

Shyness is usually sign of trauma. Humans are social beings and therefore made to socialize.
Annoying extroverts, like catty queens, are usually traumatic introverts hiding themselves.
Ideal is an extrovert like r7 is dating. If you hate humans so much go live under a rock and away from civilization.

I dunno, R4. Several times on Twitter I saw those "unpopular opinion" memes go around, and more than once some extrovert would say their unpopular opinion was that introverts were irritating and made them feel uncomfortable and they didn't like hanging around them.

I bet I can get my foot on your chin faster than you can get your hand on my foot.

Extroverts and I get along wonderfully well. They talk and I listen. The problem comes when they suddenly turn on me and ask "So what about you?" That's when I have to break it off.

Try finding a con man that is an introvert. More difficult. Extroverts are attention whores and have no soul.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 26, 2018 1:10 PM |
Entirely left out of this discussion is the ambivert. Introverts and Extraverts are BOTH so fucking annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 26, 2018 1:17 PM |
As an ambivert, I would take an extronover an intro any day. Intros are boring drips.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 26, 2018 1:19 PM |
I sometimes feel as though some of the posts here are plucked directly from someone's thoughts. With things they would never mention otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 26, 2018 1:20 PM |
Ambivert is a pop-psychology term. Everyone has both extravert and introvert characteristics. No one is exclusively extraverted or exclusively introverted. Rather, individuals have a preferred way of directing their energy and attention.

R2 no one says "cringey" once they get out of about 8th grade.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 26, 2018 5:18 PM |
For some extroverts it’s a “solution” to a control issue, avoiding the discomfort of not knowing where a conversation/situation is going.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 26, 2018 6:43 PM |
I hate extroverts and introverts
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 26, 2018 7:15 PM |
R20 Well, grandma, we know where you're coming from.
