It's funny. I grew up with CA and she was never the prettiest one, she was the intellectual. And she was supposed to be the star of the show. In the end, it was when she left the show it got bad and got canceled. It couldn't survive without someone who could do some type of acting and came off half way intelligent.

The sale is being done by Mike Pingel, who has run charliesangels.com for 20 years or more. He was just a fan who ended up having a good relationship with the entire cast. For a while, he was actually Farrah's assistant.

He does have a huge selection of CA memorabilia, but this stuff is not that. I can't imagine that over the years he's collected this stuff here and there from Kate, or from other memorabilia sellers and then had her sign it. Seems like this is stuff Kate gave him and signed so he could sell it for her, and that means things must be really, really bleak for Kate. BTW -- I've seen her wear all that stuff. She was never much for a huge wardrobe and she re-wore all of those things many times.

I am sorry to hear she is in such dire straits. It can happen to any of us, and I have been there. When the economy tanked in 2008 and I was underemployed I was pretty desperate. Ended up working two jobs just to make ends meet. There were paydays when I paid all my bills and had no money for food left. I doubt she’s that desperate but it must be very humbling for someone of her stature to get to a point where something like this is necessary.

I’m afraid for us all, given who our country elected POTUS.

Kate was screwed financially by not receiving credit for creating Charlie's Angels. If they had done right by her she'd be continually making money from it. Candy Spelling and Leonard Goldberg should be giving Kate a cut.

Mike Pingel could have proofread the website and steamed the clothes to make it more professional.

And the assistant who hired that cleaner should have made certain there was a NDA. It was a cruel move to expose a vulnerable person to that kind of publicity.

Anyhow, those photos are a decade old. The tabloids keep referencing them like it just happened.

Many older people start downsizing. Better to try to make some extra money if she needs it than leave it behind someday for her son to deal with.

Kate does not have a good rep in the business. She's talented but is seen as difficult and strange. And she's at an age where people aren't willing to overlook that and will hire other women in her age range that are easier to deal with.

Yep, sounds like she agreed to do the show then panicked. There's both mental illness and substance abuse issues there, and this is the first thing I've heard that she's been hired to do in ten years -- too bad it didn't work out. Who knows, maybe they'll reschedule. If she ever got the help she needs and got clean, and if she was willing to write honestly about it, her memoir could be a success and she could get acting work again. She still looks good. She was talented.

R112 There were stories in the tabloids when she was still acting doing episodic TV work (around 15 years or so ago) about her acting odd on set and in more recently years stories about her hoarding. And of course the odd "Devious" TV appearance. DL isn't the only place that has speculated she has mental and/or addiction issues.

She had some health problems since the late 80s at least (heart problems and cancer) . It's easy for some to people to get hooked on pills.
