I love him in The Winning Season as well, little known movie where he plays a down-on-his-luck baseball coach for an all female team. Well worth checking out, good movie, funny and with a lot of heart, and once again Sam absolutely nailed it.

I’ve never seen a movie that more beautifully renders a platonic intergenerational love like the one between Trent (Rockwell) & Devon (Mischa Barton). The cinematography is stunning and artistic beyond its budget, and the storytelling is lucid and rich and unflinching as it is moving. It’s a movie Sam should feel proud to have done and that should have garnered much more accolade than it did.

That Rockwell kisses Mabius with teeth in one scene is just icing on that cake.
