The evil military guy who harasses Sally Hawkins in "Shape of Water" looked, moved, and acted like a young Liotta. I actually thought for much of the movie it was a well-preserved Liotta.

He's definitely aged but I still think he looks like himself. I wouldn't have called him "unrecognizable".

I don't get all these posts about celebs who age/get fat and what a surprise it is. I mean really? Did you people not know that even celebs grow old and that most people tend to put on weight as they get older?

Here in Brazil many people are used to call "tia velha" (old aunt) men who age like that. But I don't know, he seems to have become less a "tia velha" then many of his contemporaries like, let me see, Sylvester Stallone, maybe?

It's not the aging, it's the unnatural efforts to prevent aging, which end up making the person in question look odd. In Liotta's case, it's a hell of a lot of fillers and Botox. I've loved him since his soap opera days and I still do, but I think he'd look better without all the spackling.

Fillers and all of that shit simply make a person look old and weird.

I agree with those above who say he's spackled with pancake makeup. As soon as I saw the Chantix (sp?) commercial I said out loud, "Good heavens, lay off the makeup, Ray!" He's always had pretty eyelashes, though.

I suspect that photographer caught him mid-blink and nothing more. He looks pretty normal in other recent photos.

Aside from the age difference, the one on the left is a glamour shot while the one on the right just catches him in a moment. I don't think he looks so bad though I wonder if he's had eye work done.

The fillers make him look like he was embalmed plus he has the dead eyes of an alcoholic or former alky.

Greta Gerwig is unrecognizable. Liotta not so much.

I saw him at the Tribeca Equinox many times while he was appearing on Broadway in a short-lived production about 15 years ago. I knew exactly who he was but his face looked melted and entirely plastic. Whatever work he had done back then was horrendous.

He did seem like a very nice guy and was friendly with the employees and other gym patrons.

They got to him. He's one of the Lizard People now.

Whatever he's done, he's still good in my book. I like his acting and love his voice. A pleasure to see on my screens.
