Then Will learned that he cheated on Sonny with Paul shortly before he was killed. Will went to ask Paul about this, and Paul came to the door in just a towel. Will was immediately attracted to Paul. He flirted with Paul and kissed him during this visit but was interrupted by Sonny who came by solely to definitely break up his engagement and relationship with Paul. Sonny then convinced Will to move in with him so he can help Will regain his memory. But on New Year's Eve, Will left Sonny at a party to go home early but bumped into Paul out on a jog, and ended up kissing Paul again. Will decided then to formally divorce Sonny to follow his heart. He eventually moved in next door to Paul and they ended up investigating John together for his poisoning of Steve. To protect them from a rogue ISA agent, John had to knock them out and tie them together in the Dimera Crypt. While working to escape together, Paul finally admitted he also cared about Will, so they started to date and slept together by their second date.

Sure its hectic these days because of doing multiple shows per day - but the number of days that a soap actor works now is minimal. Soaps used to shoot 50 weeks a year. Now they shoot only 30 - 32 weeks a year. Nichols probably only worked about 40 days in 2017. He appeared in 88 episodes, shooting about 2 episodes each day that he worked. I’d gladly consolidate the work that I do in 234 work days (250 minus 10 vacation days and 6 holidays) down to 40 hectic work days and have all that extra time off. Sign me up! Are they looking for a Patch recast?

The Horita love continuing from the past six months of a hot and heavy love affair has gone missing, while the incoming WilSon love feel so fake and contrived. If Ron played both side as equal and conflicted Will is torn up, then it would be a more believable situation. Instead, Ron is just setting paralyzed Paul up as the "obstacle" and have Will forget the last six months just like that. To have Will "fake" it for Paul out of obligation, and his just remembered (old) feelings for Sonny be the only real love is just bad writing with no real character development. It's just instant plot resolution because Ron says so.
