Pitt could have been like a lot of other young actors who come to Hollywood. It’s tough to break into the industry and many are willing to do whatever it takes to make it. I also used to think Brad was just a user, who somehow managed to get his hooks into Racina. However it just doesn’t add up, and Racina(who comes across as a decent guy)has been pretty vague about why he did so much for Pitt.

I think he and Brad were in a physical relationship at one point(who knows how they really met)and that’s why he lived with him for so long. They also became quite close: Racina talks about bringing Brad to his parents for thanksgiving. And that’s why Racina went to bat for Pitt over the role on ANOTHER WORLD. If they really were in a relationship I don’t think Racina will ever tell. I also think that’s why Racina doesn’t hold any bitterness over Pitt denying the knew each other that well. Thom did a lot more than just give him a place to stay. Before he hooked up with Racina, Pitt had trouble making it in L.A. He worked a couple low wage jobs and could barely get by. However, when he got the pool job he got to stay rent free in a great house right in central L.A. Racina also gave him money, access to a car and a job that was flexible enough that he could take acting classes and still have the time to go for auditions.

Racina has also mentioned that Pitt couldn’t even get an audition when he first knew him. It was Racina who arranged for Pitt to get his very first role, ANOTHER WORLD. That eventually led to his SAG card and it was from that opportunity that Pitt managed to get his start. Without the help that Racina provided it's highly unlikely that Pitt would have been able to make it in Hollywood.

Well we already knew that he's used every starlet he dated for maximum exposure and to open the doors for him. Christina, Juliette, Gwyneth, all of them before marrying Aniston got him into the social circles that they frequented and introduced him to agents, directors, writers, and other actors and actresses. The Paltrows for sure did a lot for him.

That said, there might be more to this story that what Racina is willing to say. Why would Pitty not acknowledge him if he moved out on good terms?
