It's official-Justin Timberlake has FLOPPED

1. The reviews of his Superbowl performance were mostly negative for both his performance and of course the choice to incorporate a video of Prince into it.

2. His new album did go to #1 but so far has sold 367,000 copies, not even gold yet and sure as hell not platinum.

3. His singles are tanking big time. "Filthy" and "Say Something" (Chris Stapleton) did both reach #9 on the hot 100 but have been dropping like rocks since then.

4. The media has stopped talking about him and his music altogether.

The "prince of pop" is OVA at least for now.

by Anonymousreply 205July 22, 2018 3:17 PM

No album that hit #1 and spawned two top-10 singles can be described as a flop.

by Anonymousreply 1February 23, 2018 11:19 PM

R1 people called Lady Gaga's "Art Pop" and "Joanne" flops but they both got to #1 as well. She didn't get any #1 singles though. Timberlake's recent singles are flopping

by Anonymousreply 2February 23, 2018 11:21 PM

Well at least he flopped something. His dick is probably so small it can't flop.

by Anonymousreply 3February 23, 2018 11:23 PM

Yes, r3. I'm sure you know that from personal experience.

by Anonymousreply 4February 23, 2018 11:30 PM

He’s no Tony Bennett.

by Anonymousreply 5February 23, 2018 11:32 PM

In today's age, I don't know if top 10 really matters as much today since single sales are so powerful Id expect anything under a top 5 hit to be underperforming. Getting a number one album spot is super easy these days for anyone with mild name recognition, good PR, and a calendar.

An artist of his caliber should be performing better, but I guess this is long overdue karma. I'm happy, because he received way to much praise for the deathly bore that was his 20/20 album, what garbage. Oh and the black audience and some whites are done with him so his movies sales will take some hits.

I suggest Justing move to a nice streaming comedy show to revive his image.

by Anonymousreply 6February 23, 2018 11:35 PM

Bruno Mars has replaced him.

by Anonymousreply 7February 23, 2018 11:36 PM

A #1 album can be a flop. Janet's Unbreakable album went to #1 but it was still a huge flop.

Of course Justin's flop album has already sold more copies in a couple weeks than Unbreakable has to date. So Justin isn't as big a flop as Janet.

by Anonymousreply 11February 23, 2018 11:45 PM

r11 that's fine since Janet is almost a decade and a half older than him and did her thing in the 90s Without Nsync, which he has tossed aside, his career doesn't even touch Janet's. Hell, Justin Bieber has a more relevant career at 23 than JT.

by Anonymousreply 12February 23, 2018 11:55 PM

Fuck Justin Timberlake. Has-been wanker.

by Anonymousreply 13February 23, 2018 11:56 PM

Janet Jackson has timeless music. Nobody will remember Justin Timberlake in 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 14February 23, 2018 11:57 PM

I love that he will always be remembered as that white man that publicly disrespected a popular black woman in her time of need. He and his hillbilly classics can fuck themselves.

by Anonymousreply 15February 23, 2018 11:58 PM

Are the Deplorables out there buying his music? I thought he was trying to appeal to them as a fellow white man of the woods.

by Anonymousreply 16February 24, 2018 12:03 AM

R14 People will at least remember NSYNC v BSB, that he was the breakout member from it, and Sexy Back, but not much beyond that, especially since his acting career flopped too.

by Anonymousreply 17February 24, 2018 12:08 AM

Hey Britney, how did your last album do?

That's what I thought.

by Anonymousreply 18February 24, 2018 12:11 AM

I am the Earth Mother and he is a FLOP!

by Anonymousreply 19February 24, 2018 12:12 AM

Oh gosh, Sexy Back was one of the weakest songs on that rather good album. I didn't get the hype. Now My Love used to be my jam.

by Anonymousreply 24February 24, 2018 12:25 AM

r23, it's hard to top perfection.

by Anonymousreply 25February 24, 2018 12:28 AM

I like him best on SNL. "Dick in a Box" is my second favorite after "Cry Me a River." And he's genuinely funny in that venue.

he been coasting on bad muzik for long time

by Anonymousreply 27February 24, 2018 12:29 AM

R16 "Say Something" is still top 10 on itunes but that's solely due to Chris Stapleton's popularity. If Timberlake had not featured him on it, it would probably be tanking as badly as "Filthy". "Say Something" has dropped dramatically on the hot 100 though

Justin is not aging well. His hair style and taste in clothes, dreadful. He is yesterdays news.

by Anonymousreply 45February 25, 2018 12:08 AM

Justin is very obviously on drugs.

by Anonymousreply 46February 25, 2018 12:13 AM

Who is his core audience these days? Those girls who were into N'SYNC and who propelled his solo career to success have all grown out. They are probably suburban fraus who've graduated to Adele and Sam Smith. He's now in a similar position that Britney was in 7-8 years ago: the record is initially doing OK following a reasonably successful lead single with some guest star du jour on it and then in a few months nobody talks about it any longer.

by Anonymousreply 47February 25, 2018 12:21 AM

[quote] Janet's Unbreakable album went to #1 but it was still a huge flop.

Uh, but Miss Jackson didn't promote her album and was independent. It didn't matter. Albums are merely marketing tools. Her album was a critical smash and seen as a return to form. It did was it was supposed to do for it.

by Anonymousreply 48February 25, 2018 12:23 AM

Justin doesn't have many albums under his belt or many hits. He's also long in the tooth. He's like Christina Aguilera. He wasn't smart when it came to his career. You can't just disappear for years on end and expect to come back on top.

by Anonymousreply 49February 25, 2018 12:26 AM

You can get a #1 single with as little as 25 thousand sales and a tiny bit of airplay.

A few hundred thousand for an album is great these days. It's not 1979 where you could sell two million records and not hit the top ten.

by Anonymousreply 50February 25, 2018 12:50 AM

Vegas is waiting...

by Anonymousreply 51February 25, 2018 12:54 AM

R49 his ego is so big he thinks he still could. In the past it was OK. There were several years between his other albums but the public still ate it up. The first signs of floppage happened when he released 2 albums in 2013. The first one did very well and that's when he was being heralded as the "prince of pop". The second album sold pretty well but the singles didn't chart as well. Then he got that #1 song in 2016 from that kids' movie but this album is further proof of his decline.

I

by Anonymousreply 57February 25, 2018 2:20 AM

R48, so it was supposed to flop and kick off a flop tour? OK.

R57, I don't know for sure, but it's possible. The 70s started the era of huge blockbuster album, and 1979 had Off the Wall, 52nd Street, Tusk, The Long Run, Bad Girls, Breakfast in America, etc. All of those albums went multiplatnum.

Threads like this remind me that most of this board really is over 40 or has very little idea how things go in the music business today.

I don't say that to be ignorant, but many don't understand that many records used to sell in a week what current records might sell EVER.

by Anonymousreply 60February 25, 2018 2:54 AM

r57 there are one and two-hit wonders from the 70s and 80s who invested well enough to STILL be living pretty comfortable lives. Record sales in those decades were huge, and the money a person could make in the music business was insane.

Case in point: When Donna Summer died in 2012, she was worth $75 million, even though she hadn't had a big hit song in a more than two decades.

by Anonymousreply 61February 25, 2018 3:01 AM

R60, true. The top albums of the last few years have sold 2-4 million total units (hard copied, digital, streaming, etc. combined). 20 years ago that would be a flop for any well known artist.

The last legit blockbuster album was Adele's 25 in 2015. No one has sold anything close to that in a decade, except Adele herself with 21.

by Anonymousreply 62February 25, 2018 3:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 72April 17, 2018 2:00 PM

Justin's day has come and gone. He should just bow out gracefully. That's the problem with some of these entertainers. They don't know when to hangem up and stop making new music for the public and just tour every few years. They have plenty of money so their definitely not lacking there. Just go and enjoy you're life, family/friends, and wealth. And give back since so much has been given to you.

That's how it should be done. I'm talking musicians specifically. Actors are fine. It's musicians who don't know when to step down.

Case in point Madonna!!!

by Anonymousreply 75April 17, 2018 2:38 PM

I have his Man of the Woods and the tracks on the second half are the really good ones. He should have released a couple more of those as singles. "Breeze Off the Pond" is the best one and would be a big hit but of course it is more laid back and traditional pop than "Filthy" or "Supplies."

by Anonymousreply 76April 17, 2018 2:46 PM

Justin owns a high end Chuck E cheese type of place. A place where the rich can get drunk and pawn off their kids onto lowly paid wait staff to bore them. They do not have any jumping toys or jungle gym toys, like in a park. It is very weird. And yes, mommies and their personal asst are drunk at lunch time.

by Anonymousreply 77April 17, 2018 5:05 PM

You can’t ask for a bigger promotional platform than headlining the Super Bowl in advance of the new album. Which all but guaranteed opening at #1. But the actual sales volume was small relative to his stature and the roll out. I think the whole “Man of the Woods” aesthetic was really a turn off, especially when the music was ultimately more of the same from his solo catalogue. No big evolution. So he should fire the creative director immediately. He’s also just entering that weird part of a career where he won’t notch huge sales anymore. He’s in commercial limbo and it’s not gonna get prettier from here. He thinks his talent is far bigger than the reality. He’s not Michael. Or Prince. Or George Michael. I could keep going...

by Anonymousreply 78April 17, 2018 5:28 PM

I love that he went from having the most hyped up new album to being the most quickly forgotten big flop of the year lol LOVE IT

Headlining the World Cup in advance of a new album, which is what Ricky Martin did in 1998 and look where that got him... let his career live for another few years when new latin pop stars were starting to emerge in the late 90s to mid 00s.

He was hoping to get some pop-country hits and claim to be a musical chameleon who is always successful. but FLOP FLOP FLOP no one really cared. He got a moderate hit with that Chris Staples singer but that's it. So glad his days of getting #1s are over.

by Anonymousreply 85April 27, 2018 4:29 PM

He could have had thousands of additional sales if he would have done right by Janet and brought her out for the SB. I was livid that he had the nerve to even sing that song during the show. He would have received brownie points for bring out Nsync, but he decided on a kamikaze mission and ended up killing this album's momentum.

by Anonymousreply 86April 27, 2018 4:33 PM

^ He really is incredibly arrogant and an asshole. He treated Britney like shit way back when and when she was going through her mental breakdown and getting torn apart by the media. Timberlake was so fucking hot in his heyday, which lasted like a decade. But no one stays young forever, and like they say getting old sure beats the alternative. Which makes you wonder what point r36 and r38 think they’re making.

That is a bit shocking.

by Anonymousreply 119June 26, 2018 8:01 PM

So he released SoulMate last night and those dolts on The Today Show this morning said “and it’s already being called the song of the summer.” By who?!?!? I listened to the song and it’s starts with “summer starts...now.” Justin will do ANYTHING to have a song of the summer but when will he learn that it can’t be engineered in a recording studio? To be the real song of the summer- it has to be organic and have momentum that is entirely driven by the listening public. He tried so hard with that thirst trap of a song “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and clearly won’t be satisfied until he nails it. SoulMate ain’t it. Sorry, JT. Go the fuck away, you empty pop, appropriating vessel.

by Anonymousreply 120July 4, 2018 1:27 PM

Sorry Taylor at r120, but your song is no song of the summer either.

by Anonymousreply 121July 4, 2018 1:30 PM

Justin Timberlake should have hung it up years ago.

by Anonymousreply 122July 4, 2018 1:33 PM

It is not his ass that made him a star. It is his HUGE penis.

And yes, those idiots - starting with Hoda Kotb - will call anything the song of the summer - except what is likely to be the actual song of the summer. Hoda was also blathering on about that crappy song by Adam Levine, which features Ellen Degeneres, and a bunch of other ubiquitious ladies, dancing.

by Anonymousreply 123July 4, 2018 1:41 PM

Another classic "in the know" DL thread that pretends to be the arbiter of all things hip and trendy.

JT was in Philly a couple of weeks ago. Sold out the joint, the crowd with enthusiastic, and the reviewer for the Inquirer said the show was great. Plus the guy sold out another show here scheduled for December,

If that's what is considered washed up, count me in.

by Anonymousreply 124July 4, 2018 1:46 PM

His album flopped r124.

by Anonymousreply 125July 4, 2018 2:04 PM

"In March 2018, Man of the Woods was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 album-equivalent units in the US."

That's hardly a flop, R125. Granted, it not the numbers he used to rack up, but it's definitely not a "flop" and JT isn't the teen idol he was 10-15 years ago.

Why do you and others have such a vested interest in making sure this innocuous fellow's career is in the tank?

by Anonymousreply 126July 4, 2018 2:55 PM

A gold album for someone who headlined the past Super Bowl is a failure. Period. Platinum or bust.

Does anyone know if his CD was included in the purchase of a concert ticket. That’s happening more and more these days.

by Anonymousreply 128July 4, 2018 3:20 PM

No, only losers like Janet Jackson have to resort to giving their CD away with everything from an Uber Ride to a super size Baja Fresh meal in order to count sales.

by Anonymousreply 129July 4, 2018 3:22 PM

I never thought much of him. I didn’t like N’sync or the curly hair.

He had some pop hits I really liked, both are linked above, but he himself never appealed to me. I thought he sang in a very high key and had a bro personality. Ehh, it just never meshed with me.

His movies have sucked. He’s better in drama than comedy though. I don’t know who told attaractive people that can’t act, especially women that COMEDY is their balliwick. It seems like every middling actor in Hollywood turns to and settles in comedy when drama and action don’t work.

I think he may still work in movies but it’s not 2004 anymore. I think his audience is still there while Beyoncé never lost fans really. Just kept gaining.

by Anonymousreply 130July 4, 2018 3:42 PM

Timberlake sucks. He's a flop, a loser, and a douchebro.

But he's still sells more albums than Janet Jackson.

by Anonymousreply 131July 4, 2018 3:52 PM

OP = JC

by Anonymousreply 132July 5, 2018 3:08 AM

[quote]So he released SoulMate last night

It wasn't on his new album.

Which is an admission that his new album sucks and DOA.

by Anonymousreply 133July 5, 2018 3:44 AM

"album equivalent units" does this mean he didn't even sell an actual 500, 000 copies?

by Anonymousreply 134July 5, 2018 5:04 AM

Thats why the queen of pop is rapping and making trap music. She knows how to stay relevant.

by Anonymousreply 135July 5, 2018 5:25 AM

Once you release a great album and it fails, your career is over

by Anonymousreply 136July 5, 2018 5:54 AM

[quote] "album equivalent units" does this mean he didn't even sell an actual 500, 000 copies?

Well, you can't fault him or even single him out for this. That's how the music business is these days. The only acts who more more physical copies than streams are country and oldies who put out new albums (Streisand, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, etc.) If you look at any of the top acts you'll see their stream equivalents far outpace their actual sales. This is why music is in the toilet. Thanks, internet.

by Anonymousreply 137July 5, 2018 2:56 PM

He also has "Oscar equivalent units"

by Anonymousreply 138July 5, 2018 3:35 PM

his song is currently at #13 on itunes. It didn't even reach #1. I think it peaked briefly at #3. I wonder how it will chart on billboard...clearly the public is OVER him

by Anonymousreply 139July 8, 2018 5:09 AM

I loathe him.

Justin's just gonna keep getting more and more irrelevant.

We live in an age where streaming is becoming the most important part of total sales compared to other forms like physical sales, especially with places like Best Buy not stocking physical copies anymore, and the Billboard 100 will keep changing to address this. Like Gangnam Style peaked at #2 despite being the hottest YT video at the time but Harlem Shake reached #1: BB100 changed the algorithm to make YT views more important. And Christina's Liberation just did great in physical sales, especially for a female pop star over 35 who's been in the game for like two decades. But apparently the age of her fans is showing because her streaming sales were absolutely pitiful, which doesn't bode well for her because that also means she's not getting new younger fans. Same thing is gonna happen with JT.

by Anonymousreply 142July 10, 2018 4:58 AM

So he had a flop album. He is still wildly successful, had the biggest song of the summer a few years ago, and could easily pull off a successful international tour. How many of these flash in the pan streaming youngsters will be relevant in not even 5 5 but 2 yrs from now.

by Anonymousreply 143July 10, 2018 10:42 AM

It’s no surprise that his teen idol days are over, he’s seriously like 40 by now.

He’s going out like Liberace - he’ll be able to maintain star status and career with a hardcore fanbase for as long as he wants, no matter how weird & tweaked he gets.

Maybe when his mother dies he’ll come out.

by Anonymousreply 144July 10, 2018 12:06 PM

[quote]his song is currently at #13 on itunes.

It is currently #138. Has it been out even a week yet?

Embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 145July 14, 2018 8:13 PM

That reference to summer at the beginning of the song was so shameless. It didn't work out for him, obviously.

by Anonymousreply 146July 14, 2018 8:24 PM

What is doubly embarrassing is that even releasing the song in the first place was an admission that his new album was a failure.

by Anonymousreply 147July 14, 2018 8:36 PM

Has he gotten desperate enough to give away Albums with Uber rides? Tickets for $9/pop?

Asking for a friend.

by Anonymousreply 148July 14, 2018 8:42 PM

History will never remember Justin Timberlake like it remembers Jane Jacket.

by Anonymousreply 149July 14, 2018 8:44 PM

He has always been a phony fuck. His liberal "borrowing" from other better artists, his punk non-response to the Janet debacle his highly-affected and nauseating earnestness/cutenes. Awful. His inviting a homeless guy to his wedding for the express purpose of setting him up for a joke was the nail in the coffin. Hope this fake piece of shit disappears.

by Anonymousreply 150July 14, 2018 8:53 PM

I'm no fan, but he didn't invite a homeless guy to his wedding.

by Anonymousreply 151July 14, 2018 9:01 PM

Fortunately, he has his red-hot movie career to fall back on.

Oh, perhaps, I'm thinking of someone else . . .

by Anonymousreply 152July 14, 2018 9:09 PM

He always drew HEAVILY from Michael Jackson -- just a marginally more talented Corey Feldman -- and is an actor in the same way that Frankie Avalon is. Growing up in the '80s, you knew who the real singers and bands were, and who the novelty pop confections were. It's mystifying to see the people who are taken seriously now. Rick Astley was written off as a studio creation and has demonstrably better pipes than Timberlake.

by Anonymousreply 156July 15, 2018 5:23 PM

Isn't JT close to 40 now ? Has he ever been musically relevant ? I know he's rich so he got very lucky with the very little generic talent he had. He must know that in 20 years no one will listen to his music...So why does he still bother (us) with the cotton candy stuff ?

by Anonymousreply 157July 15, 2018 5:37 PM

Somewhere . . . Lance Bass is smiling . . .

[quote] Somewhere . . . Lance Bass is smiling . . .

Why, is his shift at Fuddruckers over?

by Anonymousreply 159July 15, 2018 7:14 PM

When suit and tie came out and then every other song I heard sounded more or less like that, I rapidly lost interest. Used to be a fan.

by Anonymousreply 160July 15, 2018 7:46 PM

It's interesting to watch the effects when social media turns on someone.

Of course, he didn't help things by releasing a shitty album with a shitty concept.

by Anonymousreply 161July 15, 2018 7:57 PM

Maybe he's missing advice off his friend Kevin.

by Anonymousreply 162July 15, 2018 8:02 PM

R158 Bass won't be smiling for long when his Pearlman documentary flops so hard it makes this album look successful.

by Anonymousreply 163July 15, 2018 9:37 PM

Stop this! Stop it stop it stop it stop IT.

As a pop singer Justin Timberlake is fine, nearly perfect. We need to support him in that, if only verbally here on the Datalounge - BECAUSE - otherwise he'll "act" more and nobody wants that.

by Anonymousreply 164July 15, 2018 9:54 PM

r149 Jane Jacket will never be forgotten

by Anonymousreply 165July 16, 2018 1:30 AM

Even the DL seems to have forgotten Jane Jacket.

by Anonymousreply 166July 16, 2018 1:31 AM

We know Janet Jackson Al-Wasabi is the OP.

by Anonymousreply 167July 16, 2018 1:44 AM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 168July 16, 2018 11:36 AM

Why did his new single fail to even chart on Billboard, the Gold Standard of Sales?

by Anonymousreply 169July 18, 2018 4:07 PM

Fake news!

by Anonymousreply 170July 18, 2018 4:08 PM

Op...no links? Means you’re full of it.

by Anonymousreply 171July 18, 2018 4:10 PM

OP keeps trying to make Janet Jackson happen.

by Anonymousreply 172July 18, 2018 4:21 PM

Jane Jacket HAS happened!

by Anonymousreply 173July 18, 2018 4:26 PM

I just checked Billboard. Not only is his single not on the charts, his latest album isn't even on the Top 200.

by Anonymousreply 174July 18, 2018 4:27 PM

Bruno Mars has definitely replaced Justin Timberlake, and thank god. After his saccharine first album, Bruno Mars made his music all about the funk and his music is way more interesting than anything Timberlake did, even the stuff on Justin's second album (the one with Timbaland on it).And he's a way better performer and not a has-been.

by Anonymousreply 175July 18, 2018 4:30 PM

He had a good run.

by Anonymousreply 176July 18, 2018 4:36 PM

What was the real story between him an Cameron Diaz?

It was such an odd match. It made me convinced that he's gay.

by Anonymousreply 177July 18, 2018 4:44 PM

JC is so stoned and cute in this video. But I post this because none of us are asking the important question: Can our gal Justin still make a perfect turkey sandwich?

PS: Never had Cream Soda but it sounds disgusting.

Wow, looking at the charts, singles and albums- the music industry is a fucking mess. The album chart is filled with catalog titles because nothing new is selling at all and people aren't streaming full albums. Billboard counts an album sale if you stream 4 songs off the same album. That's insanity.

And the singles chart is a joke because it's ruled by streams and you have album cuts on the chart simply by virtue of a few people being lazy and letting spotify play on.

And you have people like Beyonce who have won, what, 33 Grammy awards?? Talk about devaluing something.

It's time to end the music industry. It had a good run.

by Anonymousreply 179July 18, 2018 4:48 PM

[quote]It's time to end the music industry. It had a good run.

Said every old person in history.

by Anonymousreply 180July 18, 2018 4:57 PM

Please give me examples of good music happening right now. Everything is autotuned to sound exactly the same and every female singer is told to sound exactly like Adele. Music has never been more generic than it has this decade.

by Anonymousreply 181July 18, 2018 5:00 PM

Please give me examples of good music happening right now. Everything has so much drums and guitars you can't even hear the singer. Give me Patti Page or Judy Garland with a piano. That's real music! Not these new Beatles from England. Music has never been more generic than it has this decade.

by Anonymousreply 182July 18, 2018 5:08 PM

R180, the big difference is that now, even many YOUNG people are saying it too.

by Anonymousreply 183July 18, 2018 5:12 PM

R183 Sure, Jan.

If I had a dollar for every time my niece or nephew said, "I wish I could listen to your old records instead of the stuff I'm listening to!"

by Anonymousreply 184July 18, 2018 5:15 PM

R184, you sound completely clueless. I'm a millenial and I know what I'm talking about it. You sound 60.

R181 The indie girl way of singing drives me nuts. A few years ago some vine mocked the "indie girl" way of singing that was starting to get popular and now pretty much all the newer pop stars are singing like it. Here's a girl who's demonstrating how they sing.

Selena Gomez basically changed her entire way of pronouncing things in some of her songs. Halsey, Bebe Rexha, Lorde, Jessie Reyez, Troye, etc all do it. So annoying.

Music acts outside of Taylor Swift and Adele don't sell many albums these days. It's not just Timberlake, though his new backwood bro shtick with this new album turned a lot of people off (myself included, though I liked "Filthy"). He really should have stopped with 2020 part 1 and then just coasted by on his acting career, but maybe he'll bounce back. His voice is grating to me, but he's an excellent performer.

On a random note, as someone who always felt Jessica Biel was underrated it's nice to see her career in better shape than her husband's. "The Sinner" was excellent and it's nice to see her get some genuine acclaim for it.

by Anonymousreply 189July 19, 2018 1:38 PM

The indie voice is absolutely horrible. A bunch of followers they all are. I'm a millennial and friends with a lot of Gen Z and only brain dead people like today's music. I like a song here and there but nothing i love. We all love old music and collect vinyl. It's cool.

by Anonymousreply 190July 19, 2018 1:59 PM

Why is Taylor Swift so popular? That bitch can't sing at all!!!

by Anonymousreply 191July 19, 2018 2:31 PM

Taylor swift is the worst. A big fucking dumb geek.

by Anonymousreply 192July 19, 2018 2:35 PM

R191 Eh Beyonce's voice is as thin as flypaper. At least Taylor plays a couple of instruments and actually writes her own shit

by Anonymousreply 193July 19, 2018 2:59 PM

Taylor Swift?? That bitch is sining off-key ON THE RECORD.

by Anonymousreply 198July 20, 2018 1:58 AM

The music industry is continually bringing remastered or re-releasing special edition classic albums back. Too much hip-hop and fake pretentious artists have ruined the music industry with crap by the masses. Drake would have been laughed at 40 years ago.

You can have him.

by Anonymousreply 204July 22, 2018 3:03 PM

I sat behind him on a flight years ago (decades ago: it was on TWA) and he and his momager were in the first row left at the bulkhead in First. He must have been 17 or so and all I could see was his nappy hair when I'd get up to get something out of the overhead compartment. The FA's were paying a lot of attention to them so I asked one - "who are they? - and she told me, "Justin Timberlake and his mom." I had no clue whatsoever who he was then or what he did or why he was important. Just looked and seemed like a little kid with a perm.

Until the next day when he was on the front page of the local paper - in town to do a concert for racial peace. Nice thing to do, sure, but he didn't impress me then and hasn't since. Go figure.
