You heard it first here
Sufjan Stevens will play at the Oscars with Anne de Saint Vincent
by Anonymous | reply 188 | April 22, 2018 4:02 PM |
Call Me when it's official.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 21, 2018 10:18 PM |
Sufjan is SO effeminate.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 21, 2018 10:19 PM |
I loved her in THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 21, 2018 10:19 PM |
Is she somehow related to that Canadian showpony Justin Castro/Trudeau?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 21, 2018 10:25 PM |
Who the hell is Anne Saint Vicnet? Is it Saint Vincent, the lesbian singer?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 21, 2018 10:26 PM |
Sufjan is beautiful and talented. I wonder why we won't gossip about him.
I hope he brings home for the Oscar for that gay film. We shall not speak its name.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 21, 2018 10:33 PM |
Edna St. Vincent de Millay
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 21, 2018 10:35 PM |
We will gossip about him when he gives us the nude Instagrams.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 21, 2018 10:35 PM |
Show me the receipt. This would make my day, seriously
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 21, 2018 11:06 PM |
R9 Just you wait, Henry Higgins, just you wait...
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 21, 2018 11:13 PM |
His music sounds like a merry go round theme composed by an insane person.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 21, 2018 11:15 PM |
Wasn't he the announcer on Hollywood Squares?
The Oscar should go to Mary J. She won't be winning Supporting and it's a makeup Oscar for being snubbed two previous times (Never gonna break my faith from Bobby and the song from The Help)
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 21, 2018 11:19 PM |
WHO?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 21, 2018 11:20 PM |
I loves me some St. Vincent!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 21, 2018 11:26 PM |
What's yoour source, OP
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 22, 2018 2:03 AM |
I hope this turns out to be true.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 22, 2018 4:47 AM |
I thought the soundtrack was haunting
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 22, 2018 5:40 AM |
I agree R17;
the best thing about the movie-the use of music to create that atmosphere.
God I hope it wins over that "I AM ME" shit.
But I have little faith in the voters.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 22, 2018 5:51 AM |
Can't wait.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 22, 2018 6:27 AM |
Sweet Jesus Mother Mary LET HIM WIN!!!!!
Do you think he has a chance against The Greatest crap?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 23, 2018 3:24 PM |
No R21.
Never underestimate the vulgarity of the Academy voters.
But Suf performing at the Oscars! My heart will explode.
Let him bring with long term black boyfriend as his date...
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 23, 2018 3:52 PM |
OMFG IM SO FUCKING HAPPY š
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 23, 2018 3:53 PM |
The news totally makes my day. Thank you. Omg, canāt wait for him to sing this BEAUTIFUL song live on stage.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 23, 2018 4:00 PM |
This is OP. I told you so, and yes, he's going to share the stage with St Vincent. His producer and musical arranjer and musician, Thomas Bartlett, is on tour and can't join him on the stage.
Remember, you heard it here!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 23, 2018 5:04 PM |
Who the hell is Anne Saint Vicnet? Is it Saint Vincent, the lesbian singer?
Her actual name is Annie Clark, she's from Texas, y'all. I'm sure she's another celeb in denial of her privileged upper middle class roots.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 23, 2018 5:15 PM |
I love Sufjan and if you like him you should check out the band High Highs. They're even better at the soft voice emo shit.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 23, 2018 5:25 PM |
R2, he is a beautiful man regardless, inside and out. Many find him sexy. I certainly do.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 23, 2018 7:27 PM |
R28 half of the time, Sufjan is so gay. And half of time he butches it up a lot.
Regardless, heās all of the time adorable as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 23, 2018 8:10 PM |
Shufjan Shtevensh
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 23, 2018 8:10 PM |
He looked incredibly young for his age until 2016. Heās a very good looking and introverted man btw.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 23, 2018 8:12 PM |
Heās gained weight in the last year r31
Let that be a lesson to us all....donāt become a fattie. Even the beauty of Sufjan could not overcome that.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 23, 2018 8:23 PM |
Jesus Christ you CMBYN queens are fucking insufferable. There aren't enough grease fires for all of you to die in.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 23, 2018 8:25 PM |
Your impotent rage is amusing R33
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 23, 2018 8:28 PM |
So is your incessant need to find some connection to this wholly mediocre movie, R34.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 23, 2018 8:29 PM |
STFU R33. There were no dogs in here, so why did you keep barking? you must b interested inuf to click on this thread. moron n retarded
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 23, 2018 8:29 PM |
Sufjan's so cute. Whispery as fuck.
A man needs to blast a load on that pretty face.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 23, 2018 8:30 PM |
Well we know whose the top.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 23, 2018 8:38 PM |
Wasn't St. Vincent Carla Delevigne's girlfriend at some point?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 23, 2018 8:41 PM |
Yes, but Cara dumped her.
So itāll be two sexual inverts onstage during their performance.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 23, 2018 8:50 PM |
For you guys who have followed him, are these songs his best?
I cant imagine they could be topped.
INCREDIBLE! And Ive just begun catching up on his catalog but I think these were especially inspired. For me, they really took the film into a whole other level of wonder.
And as far as effeminacy goes, hes a Cancer; they can be very vulnerable and openly emotional, but theres then the protective outer shell that explains what R29 said. Born July 1.
And thanks R22 for your reply. May the shame of 1000 suns fall over the Academy if/as they let him lose!
I will have a separate thread started here for the occasion!! Let us all meet here and explode our hearts in joy together.
And for the hater who's recently joined us, youre invited too.
To see how its done.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 23, 2018 9:28 PM |
Is that you, BILL TAYLOR r42?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 23, 2018 9:36 PM |
Below is one of his best songs. I absolutely love it
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 23, 2018 9:59 PM |
Literally the only part of Oscars that I'll watch. So that Vincent saint will sing and Sufjan will play an instrument? I doubt he'll sing himself.
r44 That was really lovely, thanks. Probably the only other song of his that I enjoy, apart from those three CMBYN songs.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 23, 2018 10:08 PM |
Oh I hope to god he'll sing. It would make a great duet.
R43-Who is Bill Taylor?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 23, 2018 10:11 PM |
His album Carrie and Lowell is brilliant and beautiful
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 23, 2018 10:14 PM |
r46 Wouldn't a duet between a male and a female singer kinda straightwash this song and imply the film was about a hetero relationship? And I just can't have that when coupled with Three Billboards (read: Crash) winning Best Pic.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 23, 2018 10:18 PM |
R45 Whatever makes you think that Sufjan will not sing The Mystery Of Love on the Oscars?
Heās sang that song literally a hundred times during his āCarrie and Lowellā tour.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 23, 2018 10:19 PM |
Mystery Of Love is not a duet R48
St Vincent will play the guitar.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 23, 2018 10:22 PM |
r49 Because he was saying just two weeks ago that he'll only appear if he figures out how to pull the instrumentation off and that he's been watching the covers of this song on YouTube, which have given him some neat ideas about how to do it.
R50 I know it's not a duet, I was replying to the poster saying it would be nice if sung as a duet.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 23, 2018 10:25 PM |
LOL He is THE singer in the song. It doesn't make any sense if he is not gonna sing it at the Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 23, 2018 10:38 PM |
Sufjanās played thousands of shows.
He will sing at the Oscars.
Weird idea, that he would not.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 23, 2018 10:39 PM |
Oh, youāre a troll R51
Thatās the only way your nonsensical statements make sense
Good one!
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 23, 2018 10:42 PM |
r54 I'm a troll for reading an interview with him? He said he's only sung the song in the studio before and so had reservations about singing it at the Oscars. Comparing that to singing on a tour is laughable and reveals you as a troll.
Grow up and find some manners while you're at it.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 23, 2018 10:47 PM |
R54 Eleven replies on this thread alone?
Better get some fresh air as well while you're looking for those manners, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 23, 2018 10:49 PM |
Source for the ill-mannered aspie troll.
[bold]Have you given any thought to what you might like to do if you get the opportunity to perform?[/bold]
The only problem is that I've never played the song live. I'd have to figure that out. The other day I was YouTube-ing people who've covered it, and I was so impressed by how many have figured it out. There's one guy that did a medley, with the flute, the harp and an accordion. It was really sophisticated. If I can't figure it out, I'm just going to hire him to perform it in my place.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 23, 2018 10:56 PM |
My bad...I thought had he performed it live on the Carrie and Lowell tour.
But you are still a troll....dear.
Sufjan would not have accepted the invitation if he was not going to sing live.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 23, 2018 11:24 PM |
R33, I've had a crush on Sufjan since maybe 2001-2002..... Has NOTHING to do w/ CMBYN! Everyone rushes to so many conclusions on DL..... If this, then that...... BS. BTW, I object to the casting of the movie, not a fan, and think the behaviour in the movie is not acceptable...... So there you have it!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 23, 2018 11:34 PM |
R59 ābehaviour in the movie is not acceptableā LMFAO LMFAO joke of the day!!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 23, 2018 11:37 PM |
Sorry R60, Let's bond over love and admiration for Sufjan then. I find the story not to my liking, sorry! The age difference and the boundaries that are trampled really bother me. I'm 50, and perhaps raised different from you. Call me more conservative or old-fashioned, but don't wholeheartedly approve.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 23, 2018 11:48 PM |
You don't belong here, R61.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 24, 2018 12:27 AM |
R62 Who are you to make that call? This isn't a private club.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 24, 2018 12:37 AM |
Someone who doesn't "approve" of CMBYN belongs in an "I don't approve of CMBYN" forum. Datalounge isn't it. Begone.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 24, 2018 12:41 AM |
Why ate you so triggered? I'm a long time fan of Sufjan, and enjoyed his music the most out of the film. Why can't you try to get on w/people who just don't share the same taste for the plot? Perhaps you're much younger than I. I have just as much a right to my values and morals as you do yours! I grew up Jewish, in Britain, and would never think of sleeping with my boss and host's son under their roof.... Not to mention his being a minor. If I really loved the lad, I'd continue a platonic yet romantic friendship until he finished secondary school.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 24, 2018 12:46 AM |
The movie is the point, r65, not Sufjan's music. Your moralizing is out of place. You are out of place. Are you even a gay man?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 24, 2018 12:50 AM |
I only made my first objection in R28 to the troll for trying to put me in a box. Sadly you're doing the same now. Yes, I'm a 50 yr old GAY man. I'm not hating on the movie, and did see it, so why must you make me an enemy? The title of the thread refers to Sufjan, not CMBYN. You need to emotionally detach a bit mate.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 24, 2018 12:53 AM |
R66, do you even understand the concept of context?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 24, 2018 12:56 AM |
What is your supposed "context," r68, which makes you think it's okay to trash the movie?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | February 24, 2018 12:59 AM |
R69 Please don't derail the thread, I'm starting to believe you intentionally want to make people on DL hate CMBYN even more, or worse the GOC troll
by Anonymous | reply 70 | February 24, 2018 1:11 AM |
Well, that's not true, R70. I'm not the anything troll.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | February 24, 2018 1:15 AM |
back to the music. I always prefer this version to the one on the soundtrack. More sincere and heartbreaking
by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 24, 2018 1:25 AM |
Sufjan's best song is one he's never released properly, the epic ten minute long "Majesty Snowbird"
by Anonymous | reply 73 | February 24, 2018 1:35 AM |
I really love "The Owl and the Tanager" too
by Anonymous | reply 74 | February 24, 2018 1:36 AM |
Sufjan is so beautiful in that "Futile Devices" video, especially when he flashes his shy smile at the end.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 24, 2018 1:38 AM |
Also there's "The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades" which is probably his most explicitly gay song
"Oh how I meant to tease him Oh how I meant no harm Touching his back with my hand I kiss him I see the wasp on the length of my arm"
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 24, 2018 1:39 AM |
Sufjan Stevens just screams gay-leaning bi, rather than gay, to me.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 24, 2018 1:44 AM |
Tonya Harding song is actually decent, I can totally see it as the song when the I,Tonya credit begins. But if I were Tonya I'd be pissed with the lyrics too (Portland white trash)
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 24, 2018 1:48 AM |
How is "Sufjan" pronounced?
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 24, 2018 1:50 AM |
He's so BEAUTIFUL in R72. His face, his eyes and the SMILE. faint!!!
by Anonymous | reply 80 | February 24, 2018 1:52 AM |
Thx R73, what a beautiful rendition. I do prefer it. He is so talented and tender I don't know why he isn't more renowned/famous.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | February 24, 2018 1:53 AM |
^ yeah, meant R72!
by Anonymous | reply 82 | February 24, 2018 1:54 AM |
R79... Souf-yawn is how he pronounces his name, others w/same name sometimes say souf-ian
by Anonymous | reply 83 | February 24, 2018 1:57 AM |
I know all I have to do is block one reply here and not only will most of this thread disappear but so will all the other obnoxious CMBYN and Timothee tthreads too.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | February 24, 2018 2:15 AM |
Who needs to be blocked here R84? Sounds like you need to calm down too. Enjoy the music, maybe Sufjan can help you mellow the fuq out a bit.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | February 24, 2018 2:18 AM |
R85 = Timophile
by Anonymous | reply 86 | February 24, 2018 2:20 AM |
Is he asexual or what? He's never been linked to anyone. And he's 42 now.
People who've met him say he's super-queeny in person.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | February 24, 2018 2:21 AM |
Hmmm...click on the link to be taken to Tumblr
I donāt why the preview picture is not showing up
by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 24, 2018 2:29 AM |
R87.... I don't get a queenie vibe off Sufjan at all.... Have seen him perform a few times. I just think of him as artsy. I was not even sure he was gay. Nice to know he has a serious partner now though! (Even though I'm jealous!)
by Anonymous | reply 90 | February 24, 2018 2:32 AM |
Sufjan's boyfriend is a chubby black guy?
Didn't see that coming.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | February 24, 2018 2:33 AM |
How come are all the pictures on DL not showing up?
by Anonymous | reply 92 | February 24, 2018 2:39 AM |
Maybe Evans has got a 10 inch cock and a complete knowledge of Scripture R91
by Anonymous | reply 93 | February 24, 2018 2:39 AM |
Sufjan can do better. If he wins Oscar, he should definitely trade up.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | February 24, 2018 2:50 AM |
I don't get people surprised by someone choosing a black or other person of colour for a partner. Sufjan isn't "Lilly-White" or Anglo anyway: he's Greek, Lithuanian, & Persian. Someone I suppose could say they didn't see it coming that he is partnered w/a bloke too. Growing up in Detroit, I'm sure he was close w/many AA's .
by Anonymous | reply 95 | February 24, 2018 2:55 AM |
He's a water sign; he loves for love, not appearances.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | February 24, 2018 5:44 AM |
Looking forward to his performance at the Oscar.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | February 25, 2018 12:54 AM |
I actually like the fact that he isn't overwhelmingly popular, we can keep him to ourselves
by Anonymous | reply 99 | February 25, 2018 4:12 PM |
His work is too emotionally lyrically complicated to make him popular with the mainstream, who are idiots R99
Also, R97, you had better prepare yourself for his performance at the ceremony, because heās gained 30 pounds from when your picture was taken. Still cute. But his cheeks have expanded, and the extra pounds are covering his prior extreme beauty.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | February 25, 2018 5:22 PM |
R100, this is his first performance at a very important event, so Iām pretty sure he has hit the gym at least 3 times a week since. The boys gonna look handsome again.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | February 25, 2018 5:34 PM |
I hope so R101!
But Iām still totally in love him, even if he is a fattie
by Anonymous | reply 102 | February 25, 2018 5:42 PM |
Tubjan Stevitha
by Anonymous | reply 103 | February 25, 2018 7:41 PM |
Prepare yourself before the ceremony
This is what Sufjan looks like currently
I still love you Suf
by Anonymous | reply 104 | February 26, 2018 4:27 PM |
He looks okay to me. Thanks, R104.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 26, 2018 4:32 PM |
I have to wonder though: Is Sufjan sick?
His appearance has drastically altered in less than a year.
Prednisone?
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 26, 2018 4:46 PM |
I thought I was the only one who found Sufjan attractive all these years.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 26, 2018 4:47 PM |
Best Song is a tough category. Could be Blige or annoying boys from La La Land or the song from Coco. Maybe even the rap song from a period price. Iām rooting for Mystery but I fear the song is too hipster for the old folks.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 26, 2018 5:05 PM |
I prefer to remember how things used to be.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | February 26, 2018 6:29 PM |
Can someone post a link with this Vincent person? I tried google.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | February 26, 2018 6:42 PM |
She and that British model/socialite who always looks mean broke up?
by Anonymous | reply 112 | February 26, 2018 7:18 PM |
Annie Clark (St. Vincent) is SO fucking hot! I wish she'd go back to her naturally curly hair, though.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | February 26, 2018 7:20 PM |
I still find Suf attractive too R105. No one can those eyes or his soul away. Maybe he's been drinking..... that can bloat people's faces like Prednisone.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | February 26, 2018 7:25 PM |
How is St. Vincent's latest?
by Anonymous | reply 115 | February 26, 2018 7:41 PM |
Not bad R115 but I don't like how she's trying to look and sound more 'glamourous' She used to have her own personality and I'm not so sure anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | February 26, 2018 8:10 PM |
I would sniff Sufjan for 2 hours and 31 minutes
by Anonymous | reply 117 | February 26, 2018 9:06 PM |
He ain't no spring chicken anymore - dude's in his 40s now. Shit happens!
by Anonymous | reply 118 | February 26, 2018 9:10 PM |
I'd sniff him too R117, just not as long as you. I'd move on to other things, like tasting.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | February 26, 2018 9:17 PM |
Thatās Lucaās Gucci jacket on Sufjan in R120ās picture.
Luca took it right off his back in order to bribe Suf into agreeing to compose the songs for CMBYN.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | February 26, 2018 9:57 PM |
He's just an eater.
He's a Cancer.
They fluctuate.
Garland had it rising.
He could be down by showtime
by Anonymous | reply 122 | February 26, 2018 10:18 PM |
For real R121? How tacky to "bribe" someone with a second hand kelly green Gucci rain jacket. Please tell us more!
by Anonymous | reply 123 | February 27, 2018 9:42 AM |
After the film ended that first time, Guadagnino turned to Stevens for his reaction. It was a moment fraught with expectation and emotion and Stevens decided, impulsively, to take advantage of it. āI asked him if I could have his Gucci coat, and Luca literally gave me the coat off his back,ā Stevens said.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | February 27, 2018 3:05 PM |
Luca with Dakota Johnson at the Gucci Spring 2017show, wearing the same jacket
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 27, 2018 3:08 PM |
Well, a bit odd Suf asked for it, but I suppose better than Lucca saying "Come on, please? I'll even throw in my GUCCI jacket." I like some Gucci, but that coat looks apropos for a ten year old girl in 1985. Funny Sufjan doesn't seem like he'd be such a sucker for Gucci!
by Anonymous | reply 126 | February 27, 2018 3:24 PM |
R126 that coat is EXACTLY Sufjanās style...like a ten year old girl in 1985. Though heās getting a little old for that style...
by Anonymous | reply 127 | February 27, 2018 3:53 PM |
Hope I made you laugh R127! I thought many would argue how cool they thought it. It looks shiny too. I wonder now whether it's silk; either way the fabric looks sleazy, especially for a bloke.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | February 27, 2018 5:01 PM |
R127 how do you mean?
by Anonymous | reply 129 | February 27, 2018 5:02 PM |
r129 Sufjan is now 42 years of age.
What was cute when he was 25, now is starting to look ridiculous on a 42 year old.
It's time for his style to evolve, otherwise he risks being the Madonna of indie music.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | February 28, 2018 4:54 AM |
Iām curious to see how heās gonna show case his talents at the Oscars. Big night for him.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | February 28, 2018 6:28 AM |
Apparently OP was right, St. Vincent included.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | March 2, 2018 8:51 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 133 | March 2, 2018 8:58 PM |
Thank you!
by Anonymous | reply 135 | March 2, 2018 9:13 PM |
Good for Suf!
by Anonymous | reply 136 | March 2, 2018 9:14 PM |
Good job, OP!
by Anonymous | reply 137 | March 2, 2018 10:22 PM |
R134 thank you. This is THE performance to which Iām really looking forward.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | March 2, 2018 11:38 PM |
Agreed r138
The Oscars, generally, suck ass.
Sufjanās performance is what Iām really excited about.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | March 2, 2018 11:46 PM |
OP here. I'm his neighbour, I got the tip weeks before the fact. Meanwhile DL naysayers kept barking that only three songs would be performed and Sufjan was out. Don't believe anything you heard here. Many people here usualy live in Des Moines and pretend that they are Hollywood insiders.

I love you, OP. Feel free to tell us more about Sufjan, of course!
by Anonymous | reply 142 | March 3, 2018 2:04 AM |
Thanks OP. You are awesome.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | March 3, 2018 2:26 AM |
Yes OP, thanks for everything. This is THE event Sunday nite.
Whats he like as a neighbor?
by Anonymous | reply 144 | March 3, 2018 3:02 AM |
Discreet and misterious. He's producer, Thomas Bartlett, lives in the same building, and Thomas works with people like Mandy Patinkin and Bebel Gilberto, who usually drops by. Sufjan is very handsome up close.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | March 3, 2018 3:15 AM |
^^^^^HIS producer, I dont know what's wrong with me...
by Anonymous | reply 146 | March 3, 2018 3:16 AM |
Is he gay, OP ?
by Anonymous | reply 147 | March 3, 2018 3:32 AM |
OP, tell Sufjan I have a crush on him. He's so adorable.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | March 3, 2018 3:34 AM |
Best Song is actually the only award I donāt have a clue who will win. Iām watching Coco right now and itās nominated song is a big factor of movie. I love Mystery of Love but I feel since CMYN wasnāt nominated for score it isnāt a strong contender. The song from Marshal I think is the only one who doesnāt have a chance.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | March 3, 2018 1:26 PM |
Its going to P&P for This Is Me from Showman I bet.
I cry.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | March 3, 2018 2:23 PM |
What does "P&P" have to do with a song from a movie?
by Anonymous | reply 151 | March 3, 2018 2:26 PM |
CMBYN didnāt have an original score, so that doesnāt matter. The score/song categories are completely separate and donāt cross over.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | March 3, 2018 2:30 PM |
So, are we expecting a great performance at the Oscars? Honestly I don't know who these people are.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | March 3, 2018 2:36 PM |
Yes
Sufjan, and the people who are going to join him onstage are GREAT live musicians
by Anonymous | reply 154 | March 3, 2018 2:38 PM |
I saw St. Vincent and Sufjan live in Barcelona back in 2006. I was already a fan of his music and was blown away by her, who was completely unknown to me. and the supporting act that evening. Both delivered wonderful performances and he was surprisingly amusing, telling witty stories between songs and giving away some dolls. Very charming and utterly gorgeous man.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | March 3, 2018 3:14 PM |
R140/OP are you a Brit living in NYC? I think Sufjan resides in Brooklyn.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | March 3, 2018 3:30 PM |
Thx OP, I believed you from the start if it means anything to you!
by Anonymous | reply 157 | March 3, 2018 3:38 PM |
R156 Yes I am and yes we do!
by Anonymous | reply 158 | March 3, 2018 6:39 PM |
OP here! Just a reminder that ST Vincent is not going to msing, she's playng the gutiar. Sufjan is singing and she's making backing vocals at most. Her main function is play the guitar.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | March 3, 2018 6:40 PM |
R159 I really canāt wait. I think the performance is gonna blow other performances away.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | March 3, 2018 6:53 PM |
Wow! Sufjan was excellent. He's still just as handsome as ever too, for all those who chortled he had gotten fat!
by Anonymous | reply 161 | March 5, 2018 2:00 AM |
Nice but it's annoying that they only let them perform for about one minute. Fuck off, Academy.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | March 5, 2018 2:01 AM |
His performance sucked badly
by Anonymous | reply 163 | March 5, 2018 2:14 AM |
OP/R140/158 welcome! I'm a solicitous person by nature, so whenever I run into a foreigner in the USA, I like to make them feel very welcomed. I hope you're enjoying your stay. Take care, and be well!
by Anonymous | reply 164 | March 5, 2018 2:24 AM |
He looked fat. Double chin. And that jacket ...
Did anyone see his date?
by Anonymous | reply 165 | March 5, 2018 2:31 AM |
This comment by Matt Bellassai on twitter is getting a lot of retweets:
tonight is the first time sufjan stevens has taken a physical form instead of wafting through the air as the wisp of an extinguished unscented candle
by Anonymous | reply 166 | March 5, 2018 6:00 AM |
This is M e got 3 minutes 44 seconds Remember Me , close
Sufjan : ONE MINUTE 39 SECONDS
The song is a beautiful TRANCE.
He was rushed .
SINFUL!
I'm with you, R162
His magic was not to be squandered on the night.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | March 5, 2018 6:37 AM |
Sufjan talks like universe is abundant and such, but when he didn't win the Oscar he couldn't hold back not to say "fucking shit" on TV.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | March 5, 2018 11:53 AM |
The performance just wasn't very good. It was too short and the harmonies were awful. Too bad.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | March 5, 2018 11:56 AM |
I missed his performance, because I don't have a TV. I started to follow the broadcast on the official Oscar threads, but I had to give up after a while. This place is turning into ONTD. Very hateful people all around. It seemed like every other post was whingeing or complaining about something or someone -- and not in the clever bitchy way DL is notorious for. Just hateful/negative comments left and right. WTF happened to this place?
by Anonymous | reply 170 | March 5, 2018 1:38 PM |
We only ever see a reflection of ourselves.
For every hateful post there are 10 great ones.
Look deeper at the world around (and within) yourself
And then do the same for the DL

Iām the biggest Sufjan supporter...but his performance at the Oscars last night was disappointing.
The Oscars producers fault: the abbreviated time, and NO production. They could is at least shown scenes from the movie. Lazy camerawork.
Sufjan: his vocals were creaky and weak. He appeared to be terrified...and heās sang live in front of tens of thousands. St Vincent and the others musicians added absolutely no value to the performance, though SV looked fierce as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | March 5, 2018 2:10 PM |
St. Vincent..tried liking her but nails on a chalkboard.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | March 5, 2018 4:29 PM |
Looks like Sufjan brought his long term boyfriend, Evans Richardson IV, as his date.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | March 7, 2018 2:53 PM |
I heard they are married ,r174
by Anonymous | reply 175 | March 7, 2018 2:56 PM |
Really r175? Link please.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | March 7, 2018 2:58 PM |
The song was not one of his better efforts. Too sing-songy.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | March 7, 2018 5:58 PM |
His Oscars performance or just The Mystery Of Love, period R177?
by Anonymous | reply 178 | March 7, 2018 6:36 PM |
R175 to each other?
by Anonymous | reply 179 | March 8, 2018 2:59 PM |
Whatever the legal status of the relationship is between Sufjan and Evans, the real question is....who is the top?
Iāll bet that when Evans is working his 10ā BBC into Sufjanās ass.... Suf will always pray to Jesus to forgive him....just before his hole is wrecked.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | March 8, 2018 3:35 PM |
I refuse to believe that Sufjan has a hole.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | March 8, 2018 6:56 PM |
Re: The Oscars.
Matt Bellassai @MattBellassai tonight is the first time sufjan stevens has taken a physical form instead of wafting through the air as the wisp of an extinguished unscented candle
by Anonymous | reply 182 | March 8, 2018 7:02 PM |
^^Sorry, I just saw that someone already posted the comment at R182. I apologize unreservedly.
by Anonymous | reply 183 | March 8, 2018 7:03 PM |
His vocals as those of many other artists are weak live. Disappointing. The Oscar stage can be unforgivable.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | March 8, 2018 7:41 PM |
It was worthy of repetition, R183.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | March 8, 2018 8:19 PM |
instead of wafting through the air as the wisp of an extinguished unscented candle
What does that mean?
by Anonymous | reply 186 | March 9, 2018 4:13 PM |
For the first time live, Sufjan sings "Visions Of Gideon", last night 4/21/18 in New York City
by Anonymous | reply 187 | April 22, 2018 3:59 PM |
"Mystery Of Love", live, from the same concert last night
This performance blows the his Oscar performance out of the water
Sufjan's looking better than anytime in the last year
