I admit I don't care about awards and don't pay attention to who is nominated or who wins, I posted this hoping someone would say something about Kobe Bryant.

What is he nominated for and why is he sitting front and center? How do they decide where everyone sits/stands?

Also, the order seems to be totally random, although it does appear that acting/directing nominees have been relegated to the back and the technical nominees to the front. Most noticeable to me is the fact that the nominees are still very white. I can literally count the POC nominees. It's about 15 in total, and no that's not counting just the black nominees. But there may be a few more white-passing Latinos.
