Tyrone Power
TCM has BLOOD And SAND on right now and even with a young Rita Hayworth and Linda Darnell onscreen, you cannot help but look at Tyrone Power. He is breathtakingly beautiful dressed in his Spanish matador (by way of LA) finery.
There are even some shirtless shots of him in this film, which is quite good by the way - one could almost substitute football or baseball instead of bullfighting and it would work.
He died so young at age 44, and his movies are not shown so often, but is anyone else here a fan?

There was that great woman who posted here for a,long time who knew him and told him all kinds of gossip about him. He was by her account a true bisexual, and an absolutely lovely man who realized everyone who met him wanted to sleep with him, so he'd fuck all the people he liked (male and female) once to get it out of the way so he could be friends with them and not have it hanging over the relationship.

I've been a huge fan since I first saw him as a star-struck thirteen-year-old.
You should see him in "The Mark of Zorro" (again with Linda Darnell) and in "Jesse James". Pure beauty.

As swashbucklers go, I prefer Errol Flynn.

He's OK - decent actor, was very good looking for awhile, but his looks coarsened pretty quickly. Between that and his unappealing voice, I can't say he's one of my favorites. But I'll watch him, whereas there are plenty of actors I won't watch at all.

Middling, wooden, B-level star in the Hollywood firmament.

Tyrone Power was gorgeous, and everyone in Hollywood liked him--even Billy Wilder, who was a notorious SOB...a troubled bi-sexual who insisted on making "Nightmare Alley," where he ends up as a circus geek.

Agree, OP! He is breathtaking in Blood and Sand!

Best performance: NIGHTMARE ALLEY (47). He really wanted to shed his "pretty boy" image.

I know I’m supposed to think he’s gorgeous, but there was always this bit of a Jack Haley quality about him - nelly, or fastidious or something, maybe the pointy nose - that I could never get completely passed while watching Tyrone on screen.

It was poor Nazimova's last film. How she must have hungered for her lost power of the 20s whilst watching Rita and Linda.

I see your point R9. He would look similar in a silver painted can.

Too pretty. Never did anything for me.

In one scene his eyelashes looked like they were about a half-inch long. So jealous! Any way those were real?
Anthony Quinn is stunning as Manolo.

Wasn’t there a rumor he fathered Judy’s secret baby? Judy was beautiful st the time. But I never believed this as MGM made her abort her legit baby with David Rose.

Some one once said "Of all of Tyrone Powers' lovers, Cesar Romero cause him the least amount of hearbreak/"

He and Elizabeth Taylor were beautiful because they had those double eyelashes. He was the male version of Taylor.

He was gorgeous until the mid-50s when his eyebrows went somehow scruffy.
Unfortunately most of his movies were pap or crap. I wish he could have done 'Dorian Gray' instead of stone-faced creature in 45..
He didn't seem to have much vocal ability— at least compared to to Cary Grant.
Did he ever do any comedies?

I think Zac Efron resembles him enough to play him if they ever did a bio movie about him.

He looked very good as an Indian man in The Rains Came. I wonder what kind of cream they used to make his skin darker.
