The artist creates in an Upper East Side studio and has a new show in Williamsburg.
Leelee Sobieski is now named Leelee Kimmel and makes shitty paintings

Seen worse. She looks pretty good herself.

Just what the world needed—Basquiat & Haring put in a blender called straight white mediocrity!

Is Leelee on the spectrum?

What was she in as actress? I don’t feel like looking.

Her father Jean Sobieski is an artist (who once dated Dalida). His work is as good as hers

She was really good in A Soldiers Daughter Never Cries back in the 90s but never saw her in anything else. She used to get confused with Helen Hunt all the time.

Did she give up her dominatrix gig?

Once a dilettante, always a dilettante.

She's very good for a high school junior.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 27, 2018 11:17 PM |
Does she still look like Helen Hunt?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 27, 2018 11:18 PM |
This is so precious

I'm sure her dad is hooking her up
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 27, 2018 11:37 PM |
She's still in high school?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 27, 2018 11:42 PM |
Does she still look like Helen Hunt's younger sister? I can't tell from that picture.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 27, 2018 11:47 PM |
Is she still dazzling people with her heart moving 9/11 poetry?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 27, 2018 11:52 PM |
Lol. I love that poem.

I liked her. She reminds me of older millennial chicks at the time, and of the guard of actresses her age (Thora Birch, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Stiles) who displayed more talent, presence and maturity then vs. the shrieky, whiny girls of the same age now.

Speaking of 9/11, her film 'The Glass House' was the first major filmed released after the attacks (three days later, I believe). It seems to be on TV constantly and I can't help but watching it every time - it's just so hilariously bad and Leelee is fascinatingly stiff.
I did like Leelee in that Warsaw uprising movie, though.

This is the end product of someone who probably took a good look at the contemporary art scene and said "I could do that."
I know two people who created art and attempted to break into the contemporary art world and make a name for themselves. Their work was no better or worse than a lot of what is out there, but no one wanted what they were selling. So they took their big canvases and went home.

I always liked her and am glad she is doing her thing. I did love watching Nicholas Cage kick the shit out of her in the Wicker Man though since it was just part of the crazy in that movie. And if you're a hater you'll appreciate this.

Most modern art is about 'hype', more style over substance. It seems most modern artists have limited technical skill and is more ideas driven, but even their 'ideas' are contrived and unoriginal.
I wish there was more honesty in modern art. None of this guff about 'this work is about memory and identity'. I wish they would just say, this design would suit a lot of modern interiors and offices. Or, I thought it would be cool to take a bunch of old AC/DC shirts and make a kimono out of it.

I like her work. I'd buy one.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 28, 2018 12:42 AM |
i only remember her in that Drew Barrymore movie, Never Been Kissed. She reminds me of a Lens Dunham prototype

She has acute SJW face.
I know some people who went to Brown with her (not sure she graduated, though)

Which poem R21 ?
I know they were shoving her hard as some talented actress after Joan of Arc. Then Julia Stiles happened after Katie Holmes didn't happen while Felicity was still happening so she kinda got forgotten about.
She reminds me of Helen Hunt and Bree Larson. IDK why
