The Songtress of ALL TIME
Nothing At All by Heart.

She certainly has rewritten the same song over and over again...
Love Will Lead You Back
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 25, 2018 10:04 AM |
My Heart Will Go On is not by Diane Warren.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 25, 2018 10:18 AM |
Where The Road May Take You Back To Where You've Never Been Before is my favorite. I think Buffy St. Marie covered it.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 25, 2018 11:55 AM |
"If You Asked Me To" by Celine Dion or Patti Labelle. Really beautiful song.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | March 28, 2018 2:01 AM |
If I could turn back time. Jeez.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | March 28, 2018 2:18 AM |
She written so many including a catchy tune/tunes by Chicago but I've forgotten the titles.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | March 28, 2018 2:21 AM |
Didn't she write "I'll Be Your Shelter"?" That one. One of her least schlocky and maudlin tunes and quite underrated / overlooked. I can't think of anyone else apart from Taylor Dayne who could have tackled it so perfectly, except maybe Patti LaBelle. The production on it is also perfect.
If this was NOT a Diane Warren song, my sincere apologies to the person who wrote this. I bought the cassette single, lip-synced in the mirror to it many times, and lusted over the shirtless men in the video for months.

Well she wrote it for Tina Turner. Tina could have outdone Taylor.

Diane Warren didn’t write Nothing At All by Heart
I thought that she wrote The Flame by Cheap Trick but nope
I voted for How Do I Live but only because I like star LeAnn Rimes vocals
by Anonymous | reply 11 | March 28, 2018 2:42 AM |
I'd not realized how many of Diane Warren's songs I have heard and really enjoy. There are so many to mention:
Everything Changes - Kathy Troccoli I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me - Expose I'll Be -Reba
R6: Patti's version is lovely but I adore Celine's version.
R9: What about Kathy Troccoli (who actually sang on the track with Taylor Dayne)?

Un-Break My Heart
Blame It On the Rain
Rhythm of the Night
And more!

[quote] [R6]: Patti's version is lovely but I adore Celine's version.
Both are great. Patti's was first and Celine uses the same vocal arrangement -- mimicking everything about Patti's vocal delivery.

I Learned from the Best - Whitney Houston. This song sounds majestic.
Maybe it's the horn arrangement. Or maybe it's because Whitney brought her fierce Cleopatra Jones/Christie Love game to the video.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 28, 2018 2:56 PM |
Another vote for "If I Could Turn Back Time."
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 28, 2018 3:00 PM |
Oh my.
"My Heart Will Go On," also called "My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from Titanic)", is the main theme song to James Cameron's blockbuster film Titanic. Its music was composed by James Horner, its lyrics were written by Will Jennings, and it was produced by Walter Afanasieff and Simon Franglen, recorded by Celine Dion, and released in 1997.

I don't like any of the songs on OPs list. I guess I'm not a Diane Warren fan. Are these her best-known songs?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 28, 2018 3:18 PM |
drek-ola
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 28, 2018 3:30 PM |
The link at R13 lists her most popular songs
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 28, 2018 3:55 PM |
Rhythm of the Night and Don't Turn Around are the only songs I can stand from that list of hits.

I had the time of my life

Who Will You Run To isn’t awful but I have a soft spot for mid-80s rawk.
By looking at the list of artists, you get a glimpse into how the industry worked. Apparently, the label had a lot of faith in Ace of Bass and were willing to promote them hard if they were willing to buy a Diane song for them. I had always assumed that their breakthrough success was a fluke. Interesting.

For some reason, I read this as "Well she write it for Lana Turner" and I was really confused for a second.

She's the hippest and most fabulous middle-aged virgin of all time! Well, except for some Catholic saints.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 28, 2018 6:37 PM |
They all suck pretty fucking bad.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 28, 2018 6:42 PM |
Solitaire by Laura Brannigan.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 28, 2018 6:49 PM |
Christ, she's got a face for radio airplay.

She wrote Sisters of the moon for Stevie Nicks. Love it in concert!

Boy, that dame sure has written a lot of crap.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 30, 2018 4:00 PM |
Hasn’t Babyface had way more pop songwriting success over the past few decades? He was a popular performer, too. I wonder why he isn’t celebrated for all of those hits and influence like this woman is celebrated for forgettable garbage like I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 30, 2018 5:09 PM |
Is no one going to comment on her hairstyle??
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 30, 2018 5:30 PM |
"Only Love Can Hurt Like This" is a great recent one.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 30, 2018 5:39 PM |
I always liked this one that she wrote with Roy Orbison
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 30, 2018 5:42 PM |
Celebrity Net worth says she’s worth $60 milllion. Doesn’t that sound light?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 30, 2018 5:50 PM |
^^^^ Yes. She's got a big building in the heart of Hollywood with her publishing brand on it. I would think her net worth is north of $100 million.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 30, 2018 6:11 PM |
Does she sing? interesting how she can be so successful in writing melody if she can't
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 30, 2018 6:55 PM |
R33 tells lies, sweet little lies. Diane Warren did no such thing. Stevie wrote all of her own songs, with only a rare occurrence of a collaborator.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 31, 2018 4:57 PM |
She should partner with David Foster to write more trite tunes.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 31, 2018 5:10 PM |
R47, only if they're produced by Walter Afanasieff. That is the perfect storm for early 90s balladry.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 31, 2018 5:12 PM |
Arista/Clive Davis, Ace of Base's American label wanted them to record Don't Turn Around, which wasn't on the original version of their debut album that was released in Europe. However, Don't Turn Around did not originate with Ace of Base. It was originally recorded by Tina Turner as a B-side and later by Bonnie Tyler, in a dramatic version that I really like. It was also a #1 hit by Aswad in the UK in a reggae version before being recorded by Ace of Base. Others have recorded the song, too.
It's interesting listening to the four different versions on YouTube. They are really different from each other, which shows the song has a strong foundation.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | March 31, 2018 5:37 PM |
I always thought she wrote nothing but crap. I see I was wrong; “Solitaire” and “Rhythm of the Night” are good.
The rest of it sucks hard. She’s inflicted a lot of bad music upon the world.

Another for If I Could Turn Back Time.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 1, 2018 3:34 PM |
R33: Stevie Nicks wrote Sisters Of The Moon. She's talked about this song with Jim Ladd on the radio and also during an ABC's 20-20 news report. It was written about her first tour with Fleetwood Mac.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 2, 2018 3:10 AM |
I vote "I don't want to miss a thing." She has written better songs, but this one seems to be the most exemplary of her style. All of her other songs seem to be variations of this song.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 2, 2018 3:20 AM |
This song got plentt of play, but I don't think it was well-recognized.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 2, 2018 3:49 AM |
RIP James Horner. He was a true musical genius.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 2, 2018 3:54 AM |
I thought Dianne was great with the bombastic ballads. Her other genre efforts were hit or miss. Her R&B songs mostly went unreleased for a reason.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 2, 2018 3:56 AM |
Dianne also wrote Landslide and Dreams for Stevie.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 3, 2018 2:40 PM |
She wrote Lose Yourself for Eminem and Anaconda for Nikki Minaj. Those were pretty big hits.

I've always liked Potato Actress Elaine Paige's take on Heart Don't Change My Mind
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 5, 2018 6:49 PM |
Potato Actress Elaine Paige's version of Heart Don't Change My Mind is better than Barbara Streisland's version of Heart Don't Change My Mind which is more overblown than a case of full blown AIDS.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 5, 2018 6:51 PM |
The Supreme Diane Ross's version of Heart Don't Change My Mind is quite breathy stilted compared to Barbara Streisland and Potato Actress Elaine Paige
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 5, 2018 6:53 PM |
Glen Madeira's version of Heart Don't Change My Mind gives a unique cis-male take on Heart Don't Change My Mind but it still isn't as good as Potato Actress Elaine Paige.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 5, 2018 6:55 PM |
Warren Wiebe gives a differently unique cis-male take on Heart Don't Change My Mind which is possibly as pleasant as Potato Actress Elaine Paige.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 5, 2018 7:02 PM |
her music is too schmaltzy for me..none of the above
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 5, 2018 7:08 PM |
Despacito is kinda catchy. I also like her songs that Beyoncé recorded for Lemonade.
But Pop You In the Pooper is probably her best. I wonder why it wasn’t a big hit.
