I googled it and I still don't get it.
What the Fuck is a "Cis"?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 30, 2019 11:17 PM |
It is a man or female who is natural born and identifies as their birth gender. Is that so fucking hard to understand.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 25, 2018 4:11 AM |
"Cis," from the Latin for "on the same side," so cisgender is having a gender identity which matches the sex one was assigned at birth.
As opposed to "trans," from the Latin for "on the other side of," so transgender is having a gender identity which does not match the sex one was assigned at birth.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 25, 2018 4:11 AM |
It's German for "I don't need to chop up my body to be happy."
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 25, 2018 4:12 AM |
So let's get this straight: born with penis, stay with your penis and you're no longer a "man", you're a "cis man".
So this is basically forcing non-Trans people to no longer identify as just "male" or "female"?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 25, 2018 4:15 AM |
It's bullshit, OP. It is a made-up word that means nothing. It is trans propaganda. When you look at their bullshit and made-up words and junk closely, none of it makes sense.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 25, 2018 4:15 AM |
Hillbots are all cis-cunts whether male or female.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 25, 2018 4:17 AM |
It's not 'made up.' It was an obscure term used by German sexologists to the define people other than trans.
Of course, they now use it as a distancing 'other' term to make themselves feel normal.
"German sexologist Volkmar Sigusch used the neologism cissexual (zissexuell in German) in a peer-reviewed publication. In his 1998 essay "The Neosexual Revolution", he cites his two-part 1991 article "Die Transsexuellen und unser nosomorpher Blick" ("Transsexuals and our nosomorphic view") as the origin of the term.[3] He also used the term in the title of a 1995 article, "Transsexueller Wunsch und zissexuelle Abwehr" (or: "Transsexual desire and cissexual defense").[4]
Cisgender has its origin in the Latin-derived prefix cis-, meaning "on this side of", which means the opposite of trans-, meaning "across from" or "on the other side of". This usage can be seen in the cis–trans distinction in chemistry, the cis–trans or complementation test in genetics, in Ciscaucasia (from the Russian perspective), in the ancient Roman term Cisalpine Gaul (i.e., "Gaul on this side of the Alps"), and more recently, Cisjordan, as distinguished from Transjordan. In the case of gender, cis- describes the alignment of gender identity with assigned sex.[5]"
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 25, 2018 4:22 AM |
It is nonsense. We don't speak German. And I am sick of the fake transgender everything from words, to lies about science, to lies about bodies, to likes about history. It is endless lies and insanity.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 25, 2018 4:27 AM |
R7 speaks the truth but I too am done with the trans cult.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 25, 2018 4:33 AM |
It’s cult-speak.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 25, 2018 4:41 AM |
R1, would you be a trans "woman," per chance? Your triggered post gives that vibe. Do you have "die cis scum!" on a mug? Do you have "die in a fire!" saved as a draft on Twitter?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 25, 2018 6:32 AM |
"Cis" is a slur masking as a needed adjective.
There is no need to qualify "man", or "woman" to please a teeny number of enraged yet sad mentally bothered types who go around pretending they are the opposite gender and who make forcing you to believe them their life's work.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 25, 2018 7:07 AM |
What R12 said.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 25, 2018 3:44 PM |

For future reference, OP, UrbanDictionary is your friend. It's worth bookmarking.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 3, 2018 12:17 AM |
So if I'm cis and I'm gay I'm a cissy!!! Yay!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 3, 2018 12:20 AM |
It means "normal", as in I'm a normal male who was born with a penis and realizes that makes me a biological male.
As opposed to a mentally-ill, confused "trans" person who doesn't believe in science.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 3, 2018 12:25 AM |
Of course it's a made up word.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 3, 2018 12:33 AM |
If you want an example of something similar (yea asking for trouble on DL), it's a bit like the term "neurotypical" used to describe those "not on the spectrum" or non-autistic.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 3, 2018 3:01 AM |
Just tell everyone you're a Pokemon, OP. Pokemons are designed to be mystifying too.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 3, 2018 3:04 AM |
"Cis" is a made up Orwellian term created by the gender confused to dilute the concept of gender being rooted in biological reality. Ignore it, refuse to adopt it. If you're a man, you're a man. If you're a woman, you're a woman, regardless of whether you conform to gender norms or not.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 3, 2018 3:21 AM |
R2 is all you need to know, we use the terms "cis" and "Trans" on biochemistry
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 3, 2018 3:25 AM |
Would you bitches want to type out "not transgender" every time a distinction between cis and trans is made? It's an easy to use shorthand like how PoC is useful instead of typing out "non white people" every time.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 3, 2018 3:33 AM |
Made up in 1998 is still pretty much made up.
Also the German word made more sense.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 3, 2018 3:42 AM |
R24, you can just type out "man" or "woman". Everyone over the age of 2 understands what those words mean.
Only delusional "trans" folks are confused about it.

Whenever I see someone identifying as “Cis” something on a dating profile I pass it by because I know we won’t be a match or have anything in common.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 3, 2018 3:55 AM |
At least it won't be followed by the ":My Favorite Pronouns" alphabet soup.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 3, 2018 4:02 AM |
R28 at least in that way the term cis is useful. "Queer" is another useful term for winnowing the field.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 3, 2018 4:03 AM |
Agree. I like your optimism R30.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 3, 2018 4:07 AM |
Is tranny for 'not turnt'. Is anyone slang for 'just ignore the mentally ill man in the corner, or the sad mother supporting this shit but better trans than gay'
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 3, 2018 4:07 AM |
[quote]So let's get this straight: born with penis, stay with your penis and you're no longer a "man", you're a "cis man". So this is basically forcing non-Trans people to no longer identify as just "male" or "female"?
Yes, exactly.

Pick one.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 29, 2019 4:30 AM |
"Cis" is a slur invented by the Transtapo. Those who are baffled by their own gender have decided to redefine yours!
You are no longer male, you're a "cis male", defined by what you're not....a trans! See? It's like referring to all two-legged humans as "non-amputees". Looney, homophobic and dangerous.

Cis Corman is a producer and casting director, known for Death Wish (1974), Raging Bull (1980) and The King of Comedy (1982). And many others.

R35 👏👏👏 Bravo👏👏👏
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 29, 2019 5:54 AM |
Male has always worked just fine for me. I think I'll stick with it.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 29, 2019 5:57 AM |
I really don't like that word and I find it extremely disrespectful if trans people try to redefine me as "cisgender" when I don't feel like identifying like this myself. (And aren't they the ones who are all about "you are what you identify as"?)
Then again, I also use "straight" or "heterosexual" without thinking twice, so I'm not one to throw stones. I'm sure that most straight people also see themselves as "normal people" and don't need someone to define their sexual orientation in contrast to their minority sexual orientation.
So, I think that "cis-" does have its place, but only in the context of explicitly differentiating between "trans" and "cis".

Did Bruce Jenner have surgery to remove his penis?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 29, 2019 6:03 AM |
In Thailand they call trans people the third sex.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 29, 2019 6:05 AM |
You can always tell when the trolls are getting their threads deleted because they find old ones like this and bump them, hoping they'll go undetected. The funny part is that it never works, yet they've done it for years now.
After seeing you guys chatting it up all day every day over on reddit, I'm not sure why you need DL so badly.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 29, 2019 6:10 AM |
A Cis is a sissy or a sister.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 29, 2019 6:19 AM |
It's like calling non-gay people "straight." It's a word that's only used because some people are gay. Same with trans. If you're not trans, you're cis.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 29, 2019 6:26 AM |
R41. Yes, Bruce Jenner's penis is gone.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 29, 2019 7:25 AM |
I don’t think the cis qualifier before one’s gender is a big deal. People will not be inclined to use it. “Hi how are you doing today? Just to be clear I’m a cis man.” Maybe with the younger generation Shilo Pitt’s age or younger may use it.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 29, 2019 12:58 PM |
Thanks R46.

cis, to be on the side of something.
Its saying you're where you are, not trans, nor apart from concepts of gender.
No problem with it except when a radical few of a radical side of radical gender politics say "DIE CIS SCUM" and mean it and act on it. Or on the lesser level, when a larger number than the first group try to insist an identity on me.
That said, heterosexual is different from straight, and cisgender is actually different from some more informal term people could make up.
Cis doesn't actually mean 'not trans'. It means you're of a gender you're sticking with that is considered according to your sex. You are born, with your sex, and you live in accordance with ideas of *engendering* to belonging to the people that also fit with that sex.

Fuck cis, fuck your mental word destruction. I refuse to use cis and so should any sane human
