OMG.... I forgot about this show

I watched this show just to get a refresher and the theme song is practically the Full House theme with different lyrics. And I forgot that Peggy Rea and Patrika Darbo were in the first season as Suzanne's mother and sister. They were written off and made way for Sasha Mitchell.

Suzanne was great in Step by Step and it obviously proved she and ABC had patched things up.

I agree r11. Suzanne looked great in it, too. Also, I thought she and Patrick Duffy had nice chemistry and Duffy was actually quite funny on the show.

Staci Keanan is now a lawyer. I think I saw her Facebook a few years ago and she is very supportive of gay rights.

Only if Sasha Mitchell is back and shirtless. Cody was the only reason to watch this show.

Only people watching this will be millennials. Unlike Full House, Fresh Prince and Family Matters which was syndicated to hell and the source of memes which is why Gen Z even knows of them. Step by Step was not syndicated as long and only really aired reruns on ABC Family.

Half of the cast of this show retired and nobody asked for a reboot of this. TGIF nostalgia is basically dead. ABC Family and Nick at Nite reruns is what kept those shows alive for a bit but now people have moved on. Plus Fuller House, The Connors and Will and Grace already exist. So the market for sequels of old sitcoms is becoming saturated.

The Office, Malcolm in the Middle, Scrubs, Reba, How I Met Your Mother and King of Queens feel more nostalgic for most young people.

I don't think this type of show could work anymore. Maybe it could, as it did with Fuller House, but Full House was always more popular than Step by Step. I don't recall Step by Step being as popular as Full House or Family Matters, although you have to give it credit that it ran for seven seasons.

Yes, most of the actors quit acting after the show finished. One of the child actors, Josh Byrne, actually retired at the end of the sixth season. It seems that the younger actors didn't get much airtime, which may have contributed to their early retirements.
