I’m a pot head, but other street drugs don’t interest me, especially uppers like coke or meth. I found my drug early and stuck with it. Glad I did. But it’s not the “strongest” I’ve ever taken.
I was given some kind of Oxy drug after dental surgery years ago. Oxycontin or something similar. That shit FUCKED ME UP. In a good way, I guess, but I was basically floating in a dreamlike state and a little comatose while on it. I slept a lot. When it would wear off I legit needed more for the pain, but once it kicked in the pain was nil. Zero. Thankfully in two days I was down to just Tylenol and I recovered fine. I can see why people get addicted and commit crimes for that stuff.
I was prescribed an opioid, Ultram (or Tramadol) for joint pain from an old knee injury. Took it on and off for years. Stopped cold turkey when the opioid epidemic was first making news. I don’t think I was ever addicted, but I just didn’t like feeling dependent, even though I wasn’t a regular user. I know I did enjoy them and always had a little thrill when I’d allow myself to take one (when I did really need them). It was nothing like the Oxy, but a very pleasant, content and warm feeling. Can totally see the appeal for abuse, which is why I stopped. Now I just suffer and try to deal. Hopefully I’ll get a new knee soon.
I once took my boyfriend’s Ambien to sleep. The next morning I overslept, woke up in a fog, and my bf told me he tried to wake me several times but I was “dead to the world.” We were both freaked out and I never took another Ambien.

I tried meth once. It gave me energy but I felt like if my body couldn't make that kind of energy naturally it's not meant to.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 25, 2018 12:09 AM |
Ecstasy. The first time I took two pills (yes, I'm an idiot I know). I couldn't sleep for 2 days and I got the worst depression for the next couple of weeks afterwards, scratch that... YEARS! I couldn't get pleasure out of doing anything after that. I kept taking ecstasy chasing that first high and "straight guy" from the first experience , but neither of them ever came back. I seriously wanted to commit suicide, because I was so unhappy and stressed with other things going on in my life.
Drugs are bad kids, mmmkkaayyy!

Dilaudid after surgery, and I hated it. Other than that, Ibuprofen is the strongest “drug” I’ve ever taken. I don’t drink either, I hate the feeling of being drunk or drugged.
Am I the only weird one?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 25, 2018 12:21 AM |
Cocaine. I did it five times, loved it, but decided I’d had enough.

Ecstasy for illicit drugs. I tried it three times, fun twice and then a bad trip convinced me against drugs harder than pot.
I received Demerol in the hospital years ago, and I was so high I would see myself outside of my hospital bed. That shit was strong.

Midol. It made my headache go away, but every 28 days I get a strange feeling "down there."
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 25, 2018 1:49 AM |
I smoked crack a few times after the coke ran out....I should say "crack" because I was already fucked up enough and perceived it as having "no effect" on me.

Klonopin. Yipes, turned me in to a zombie and didn't address the causes for my anxiety.

I get cluster headaches. I guess they are the male equivalent of migraines in woman. For two weeks, a neighbor gave me all her Percocet. Or maybe it’s was called percodan. Anyway, worked like a charm. Now I take Imitrex.

I smoked a joint laced with angel dust once - mind you I wasn't told there was angel dust in it, and I promptly had a complete and total freak out. It was a nightmare.

Pretty much everything EXCEPT needles, crack, meth. Times have changed, people are WAY less hedonistic. I think over all this is a very healthy thing, but there is something to be said for youth + hedonism. If you’ve never had that, you missed out.

I'm a bit of a Jerri Blank in that I've done it all - psychedelics, stimulants, painkillers, etc. Of the past 25 years I've spent maybe three years without injecting opiates (heroin & morphine) daily. I'm a functioning addict. The drug that affected me the most, however, was nitrous oxide. I've never completely lost all sense of who and where I was like I did on NOS bulbs when I was younger - I hallucinated a strange being that got closer and closer - when it touched me, I felt it throughout my body and woke up on the floor. The whole thing lasted maybe 20-30 seconds but felt like it went for hours.

Illegally, marijuana. Legally prescribed, Hydromorphone, Clonazepam, Diazepam, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Tramadol. All were for pain from various injuries, surgeries, and one horrible bout of pleurisy. In hospitals, Fentanyl, Midazolam, and Morphine.
I have thrown away thousands of pain killer pills, which I probably could have made a small fortune selling. I am too much of a control freak, and hate not being in control of my mind and body.

In the 70's when I had a bout of kidney stones which they took more seriously then than now, I was hospitalized 5 days with a morphine drip. I went from excruciating pain to pure bliss but I couldn't stay awake more than two minutes.

Oxy, Ecstasy, and opium. The Oxy was like so strong I couldn't walk or talk - just floated. Ecstasy I took twice-the first time all I wanted to do was touch people and things that turned me on. The second time it was boring and gave me a major headache. Never again. The opium was the best. I smoked it with pot with a straight friend. I had the best time and we woke up in each other's arms, fully clothed. But we were peaceful and relaxed. Opium I would do again and again. Too bad this isn't the turn of the century and I could quickly find an opium den. I have done coke. But it is a selfish drug used by selfish people. Pot and alcohol have always been excellent friends. And Xanax when needed. I believe you should do every drug you can in a safe, happy place. I have learned so much about myself that way. That's why I like pot. It is a conversational drug which opens up your mind and spirit.

Of all the club drugs, the strongest was definitely meth. I quickly became addicted, off and on for almost a decade. Took me another five years of my life to get off it, at 48 I’m almost 7 years sober today attending NYCMA meetings. They work.
The thing that sucks about meth is that once I got off it, I can’t take a beer, a drink, or any other mind altering drug, with a healthy fear of relapse because it’s my experience that “alcohol becomes crystal” and I just can’t spend any more time on it in this life as a recovering addict or damaging my body any further with drugs. Never had a problem with alcohol either!
Sigh. I do miss my Sunday Bloody Mary on Christopher St...

Loads of coke in the 1980's, wasn't so cheap then either.
Medical grade Heroin when I had a dislocated knee.

Was given Oxycontin after shoulder surgery. I wasn't even in pain but took it anyway in case the pain started. That shit gave me hallucinations and I never took it again! It was awful. Fortunately I didn't have any pain associated with the surgery. It seems I have a high tolerance for pain and didn't need anything else. I don't understand how people can pop these things all day long.

Codeine after surgery, in hospital.

Klonopin used to treat insomnia. Still have a script take about 6 times a year when I can't sleep. Tried pot made me anxious. That's it no coke or meth or harder drugs.

Demerol 3x in the hospital. Felt great.
Pot laced with PCP which I didn't know going in. I had enough of my wits about me once I started to hear things and get super paranoid to tell myself that it had to have been laced and that all I could do was wait it out. Never again.

LSD - not for me. Totally sparked social anxiety for me. Not fun trip. Ditto mushrooms - though not as intense. Coke - I get it but I’m looking to calm myself not get hyper. But fun in my club days. Ecstasy fine- intense and positive. Never heroin or opium - scares the shit out of me. Now in my 40s - pot and alcohol are fine. Love me a gay bar with vodka soda and a vape- my ideal Friday night.

PCP - it was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. There was only a tiny part of my me left watching over me, and it was really strange to that disassociated but still loving it. I never did it again, don't really want to - I can understand why people go flying.
