I especially love the song "Mystery of Love" featured on the TV spot which is what originally made me listen to it on Spotify.

The soundtrack is out of this world. It totally deserve an Oscar nomination. I'm so in love with the songs. Best songs 80s vibe, beautiful and haunting memories:
- Paris Latino - Lady Lady Lady - Futile Devices (my fav) - Mystery of Love - Visions of Gideon (my fav)

Why was Sufjan Stevens, an evangelical Christian, chosen to write and record an original song for a gay movie?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 23, 2018 2:09 PM |
I don't know and I don't support his chosen religion either but I think the songs are wonderful. They balance out the pagan elements in the movie and yet all the love portrayed in the movie transcends both of those traditions. It's like they undo each other when you put them side by side and only the non-religious (pre-religious?) remains. At least that's how I'm experiencing this film and its music.

R8:
1. Because Sufjan is true artist, and because his particular focus on hesitation/heartbreak/joy is perfectly suited to CMBYN.
2. Because Luca’s obsessed with good looking men who have roiling emotions under their surface.
3. Because Sufjan is gay, though he guards his privacy zealously. See the video below.
