God's Own Country IS getting an American Blu-ray after all.

To anyone who might be reading this, please consider buying it in some form to show your support for everyone involved in this production. You won't regret it as it's a gorgeous, sweet little movie.

It was released today on Amazon, but I didn't see any Blu-ray option. Some other sites have indicated that a .Blu-ray will be available in February in America, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.

I decided to skip the Blu-ray and purchase the High Def streaming version (as a "lifetime" purchase and not a rental). It looks really great in HD, even though I assume the Blu-ray version would have even higher resolution. It's a good compromise since I was able to see the movie right away instead of waiting a month or so.

I am buying the HD streaming version on Amazon as well r2. Wanted to show my support.

It is such a good movie.

I pre-ordered the UK Blu-ray since I have a region-free player and it was only available on DVD here in the States. Seems like a lot of smaller films are doing that —only releasing the DVD and HD format on iTunes here in the US instead of Blu-ray. Glad to hear it’s now available. Fantastic film.

It still has a listing even though the Amazon order disappeared.

^^^ if you read that listing on Blu-ray.com, it mentions the Blu-ray release date as Feb. 13, 2018.

Get it while you can! Invest in a region free Blu-ray player! Much easier to acquire good films.

If it's coming out in the US after all, it's unnecessary for this film.

I bought the US DVD, which did not have the translator, so I gave it to a friend who doesn't care about such fripperies as being able to understand Yorkshire dialect. I then bought the Amazon Video HD version, which I shall watch via Roku. So complicated these days.

It used to be VHS, Beta or Laserdisc.

Once you watch it a couple of times, the accents become a lot clearer when you know the context

Yeah I watched it with closed captions off amazon. I do agree that captions are helpful for this movie (of course I watch most things with captions as a rule)

It's an awful movie, almost impossible to understand the thick accents. Gloomy and dreary, and the two straight actors aren't very convincing as gay.

I rented GOC from Amazon on Monday. All online rental / sales were shut down on the Wednesday. I emailed Amazon demanding a refund, because they’d cut off my rental before the 48 hours that is the normal rental period. I received my refund within less than a day.

R66 it’s a little box and little silver remote that takes some effort to master. The remote is intuitive, like all Apple products, but I spent a night learning how to handle if. My ex ALWAYS loses the remote somewhere....so make sure that you know where your place it.
