Well?
Anyone marching tomorrow?
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 21, 2018 11:51 AM |
I’m skipping it, OP!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 19, 2018 10:53 PM |
I’m not a smug upper middle-class white woman, so I’m not invited.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 19, 2018 10:54 PM |
Um, I'm washing my hair . . .
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 19, 2018 10:54 PM |
What is this March for?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 19, 2018 10:58 PM |
I thought it was sunday
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 19, 2018 11:00 PM |
Nope. They banned the pussy hat.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 19, 2018 11:06 PM |
Can I wear a cunt hat then?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 19, 2018 11:09 PM |
They're already all over Washington by the courthouse and mall. I had to detour to get to court. They're wearing yellow neck scarves. I guess for positive urine tests.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 19, 2018 11:10 PM |
How can they ban a fucking hat? What is that about? Can someone fill me in please.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 20, 2018 1:16 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 20, 2018 1:20 AM |
R9 It's considered an insult to women with penises.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 20, 2018 1:24 AM |
I thought it was insult to WOC. Who the fuck knows.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 20, 2018 1:41 AM |
The March for Life was this week.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 20, 2018 2:10 AM |
PINK hats are an insult to WoC. Pussy hats in general are an insult to WWW (women with wangs).
Twirling a vagina cape will get you shot.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 20, 2018 4:48 AM |
I am--with my pussy hat. Californians don't give a fuck about Pensacola.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 20, 2018 4:53 AM |
R16, you in danger, gurl. Your hat is gonna get snatched! Let us know if you survive.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 20, 2018 4:55 AM |
Learn from Ukraine. They ended their identical nightmare with 24 hour protests. People quit going to work and took to the streets.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 20, 2018 4:58 AM |
Yes.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 20, 2018 5:00 AM |
I have a job to get to; in fact, how do people have such luxury to just protest whenever they want.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 20, 2018 5:04 AM |
95% of Americans have Saturday and Sunday off ^^
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 20, 2018 5:17 AM |
My brother is marching, God bless him.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 20, 2018 5:19 AM |
Oakland March at Lake Merit then Tru Burger! Let’s go!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 20, 2018 5:30 AM |
I'll be out there. Another Californian in a pussy hat along with R16
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 20, 2018 6:00 AM |
R17:
Is the hat gonna get snatched, or is the snatch gonna get hatted?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 20, 2018 6:44 AM |
Is Linda Sarsour behind this one, too? Hope not.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 20, 2018 7:02 AM |
Never mind, I looked it up. She is. Too bad.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 20, 2018 7:03 AM |
Linda Sarsour has tried to co-opt the Women's March--she and some others did the whole intersectionality/guilt trip thing, but whenever she or anyone else has tried to get the marchers to follow their agenda, it hasn't worked. She's just sort of a nuisance--the way Bernie is to the Democrats.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 20, 2018 9:44 AM |
I think she successfully co-opted the March considering it was started by a Hillary supporter, but it was Linda and her hijab that became the face of it.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 20, 2018 2:33 PM |
..........
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 20, 2018 6:44 PM |
My niece in NYC called it The Angry, Bitter, Lonely, Homely Lesbians March.
She & her friends were on the way to brunch with their boyfriends.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 20, 2018 7:01 PM |
It was taken over by the intersectionalists in Pittsburgh. Disappointing. If pussy hats are somebody's truth then let them wear it. To ban the hat is to deny a person their truth. Let those people find a different hat that defines their truth if the pussy hat doesn't do it for them.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 20, 2018 7:19 PM |
Anyone know the turn out numbers? By the looks of it on MSNBC it's not as many as last year.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 20, 2018 7:26 PM |
I thought it was tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 20, 2018 7:35 PM |
Official crowd size for today’s NYC Women’s March: 120,000+.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 20, 2018 7:58 PM |
I'm watching the Dallas march. Pathetic. A few hundred. Shameful!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 20, 2018 10:02 PM |
They are saying Los Angeles had 700,000 marchers. Many were Dreamers and Trans rights marchers.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 20, 2018 10:04 PM |
I wasn't invited over to the Turpins. But I hear the children will be marching.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 20, 2018 10:11 PM |

Yes, LA had hundreds of thousands of trans people marching.
Where do you people get this shit from? Are the drugs ruining your brain cells?

What is exactly your problem, R42? Who so you call "you people"?

Dreamers yes, Trans people no. Dreamers, men, and women wearing pussy hats, gays flying rainbow flags, and a huge number of Scientists. Lots of celebrities walking today.
Viola was amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 20, 2018 11:07 PM |
Pittsburgh is tomorrow. Weird.
I hate it when celebrities take over a movement. I find the stories from real people to be more inspiring. Like I give a shit about the struggles of some multimillionaire.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 20, 2018 11:24 PM |
The link at r39 is actually last year's DC rally.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 20, 2018 11:27 PM |
It was Los Angeles--celebrities are real people there--it's where they live.
I was in San Jose--mixed crowd, higher percentage of men than last year. Lots of signs--pro-science, pro-planned parenthood and pro-immigration.

None of them appear to be upper middle class to me.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 20, 2018 11:29 PM |
So they couldn't find a non-celebrity with real struggles to be the face of the rally, r50? ONLY celebrities live in Los Angeles?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 20, 2018 11:33 PM |

What in the world are you talking about R48? This is California of course celebrities are part of our spoke persons. Celebrities and Scientists were pretty much the face of the L.A march.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 20, 2018 11:42 PM |
R53, see r52... Applies to you too.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 20, 2018 11:44 PM |
L.A is pretty diverse. We had people from all over the world talking about women's rights and everything in between.
[quote]So they couldn't find a non-celebrity with real struggles to be the face of the rally, [R50]? ONLY celebrities live in Los Angeles?
What rural hellhole you live where there are no celebrities to attend the women's march.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 20, 2018 11:48 PM |
NY and Pittsburgh, r55. And sadly, NY was celebrity love fest too. I'd much rather hear from organizations like PP, politicians and real people. Sorry, I really don't give a shit about the struggles of some multimillionaire. Hardly the same struggles as mine.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 20, 2018 11:56 PM |
I'm curious if Susan Sarandon took stage in NYC.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 20, 2018 11:58 PM |
Face it - most people want to hear from well-known public figures, whether that be celebrities, politicians or whoever. Nobody is knocking down the door to hear Sally Housecoat.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 20, 2018 11:59 PM |
R42, the news on KTLA and on MSNBC. Happy now, cuntfucktard douchecunt? DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 21, 2018 12:04 AM |
[quote] Sorry, I really don't give a shit about the struggles of some multimillionaire.
Typical East Coaster shitting on California. Listen up sweetheart, Hollywood is part of our culture and many times celebrities are our social leaders too. It's how California rolls. At least we had Scarlett Johansson and Eric Garcetti as our spoke persons and not Linda Jihadist and her crew.
This were people from all backgrounds.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 21, 2018 12:09 AM |
R58, I don't mind public figures like politicians, but if you think the turn out in NYC was to see Rosie Perez, Padma Lashme and Whoppi Goldberg then I want what you're smoking. Again, I think the struggles of real people have a greater impact than some celebrity, particularly the likes of the NYC rally.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 21, 2018 12:11 AM |
I went, R59. And you're going to tell me who was there, you stupid, lazy, fat-ass piece of shit? Although I am sympathetic to your plight - seeing as how your morbidly obese ass is moulded to your couch, it must be difficult for you to go anywhere!
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 21, 2018 12:13 AM |
Those of you putting down the march and the marchers, WTF have you done recently to try to stop Trump? What's you're problem. Is it that most of the marchers are women who are willing to get off their asses and do something when you're not willing to? Is it that that some of them supported Bernie? You really need to get over that before the mid-terms. They have the marches on Saturdays because most of the marchers work M-F. It really frightens me that some here are more against the marchers than they are Trump. I guess most of you who feel that way are white and rich and really do like it that Trump and the GOP are in charge of everything. You don't even care about how much they hate gays and if they win again in 2018 heaven knows what they will do.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 21, 2018 12:34 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 21, 2018 12:37 AM |
R64, I think that's Philly and not DC.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | January 21, 2018 12:38 AM |
Yes, it is, R67.
I've been posting wrongs links all day, so I'll stop.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 21, 2018 12:39 AM |
Fuck YOUR R66. Is that better?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 21, 2018 12:49 AM |
R68, I do admire your tenacity though! :-)
R69, seriously??? While rallies and marches are great, they aren't going to do shit to get Trump out. The only thing that will have any impact at all is voting.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 21, 2018 1:15 AM |
I'm still struggling to quantify what last year's march did for women. Could someone link a chart?

I wonder how many of the marchers could not have been bothered to vote in 2016? Or voted third-party to 'send a message' to Washington?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 21, 2018 1:52 AM |
I was going to march today as I did last year, but then I read the platform of my local March, which was focused on "immigrant," POC and lgbTQIIA2S whatever rights.
As much as I feel for some in those groups ( although the trannies can go fuck themselves and I am sick of the entitled attitude of some of the illegals), my concerns are the tax bill, deregulation, the environment, health care, net neutrality, food safety, defunding and dumbing down of education, and the fact that we have a monster as president, and everyone in the line of succession is a monster too.
We have the worst GOP in memory, which is quite a feat, yet the Left is focused on bullshit.
So I didn't march, but will fight for my issues, which I'm fairly certain I share with the majority of Americans.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 21, 2018 1:54 AM |
You know what R31? Your niece is a smug twit.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 21, 2018 1:55 AM |
R70 is correct. Electing a Democratic majority in the House and Senate in 2018 will weaken Trump until he can be defeated in 2020. Those of you in red states have some work to do.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 21, 2018 2:44 AM |
Literally ran into Christine Baranski at the NYC march. She is delightful

[quote]I wonder how many of the marchers could not have been bothered to vote in 2016?
I can only speak of California, which is the state with the largest under 18 population, but if the march here is an indication of the rest of the country, then a big chunk of those in attendance were not able to vote back in 2016. Generation Z is surely here and they are pissed.

by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 21, 2018 3:41 AM |
R72, Linda Sarsour might have marched no matter what, but given that the idea of the march belonged to a Hillary Clinton supporting grandmother in Hawaii, I don't think there would have been millions of people protesting.
As for what the marches do--they're a way of reaffirming the opposiiton to Trump and his policies--the people (aka mostly middle-aged women) who protested the ACA repeal by calling their congress people) were marchers, so are a lot of the women who've been successfully winning special elections, so are the women who helped out the elections in Virginia, Alabama and North Carolina.
This, in turn, has meant that elected Democrats have held the line on votes and limited what kind of bills the GOP has passed, though they've still, of course, done a lot of damage to the executive branch and with court appointments. It's also put a ceiling on Trump's historically low ratings. People who hate Trump really hate Trump and they're not budging--and the interacting with other people who hate Trump reaffirms their opposition.

When I was a young gayling hundreds of years ago, I got the courage to go to a gay bar by myself and you know what I saw? All kinds of people like me! They came in all shapes and sizes and we all had this commonality. It was an amazing experience back then. The march serves much the same purpose. Amazing to be out there and see thousands and thousands of people who are fed the fuck up with Trump. It's a pretty powerful experience for those in the march.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 21, 2018 4:06 AM |
It sounds like it’s been a pretty wonderful turnout everywhere - but did any of you see the cheeto’s tweet acting like it was to celebrate the anniversary of his inauguration and positive job/employment figures for women? Sheesh! That creature has no shame whatsoever. Hopefully come the mid-terms the balance of power will shift radically and they’ll just impeach his sorry, corrupt ass out of office...

Considering that Trump got the majority of the white vote, both men and women, it’s appropriate that immigrants and POC be supported and encouraged to be vote him out and undo the damage that white America has inflicted on everyone.

But it makes sense dear, those are the only people keeping this country alive while white majorities keep voting to destroy our democracy. Of course their plea would be highlighted during the "March."
