Prince William sports shaved head on royal visit
Prince William sports shaved head on royal visit
2 hours ago
The Duke of Cambridge sported a newly trimmed hairstyle as he visited a children's hospital.
Prince William revealed the close-shaven style at the launch of the Step into Health programme at the Evelina London Children's Hospital.
He opted for the military-style cut before meeting Armed Forces veterans working in the NHS.
Members of the Royal Family have been known to tease the 35-year-old about his receding hairline.
In 2014, the Duchess of Cambridge suggested a tuft of alpaca wool might be the perfect solution for her husband's growing bald patch.
As they visited the Sydney Royal Easter Show, she was shown the wool, which was a similar shade of brown to the duke's hair.
The duchess pointed to her husband's head and said: "You need it more than me."
Prince Harry has also been known to poke fun at his balding brother. While chatting to a World War Two veteran in Barbados in 2010, he said Prince William "was already bald aged 12".
Step into Health is a programme that helps ex-Armed Forces members and their spouses or partners to take up careers in the NHS.

He looks awful. I've had two transplants that ran me the cost of a fully loaded Jaguar and they were worth every penny. If I can afford them, Christ knows that Princes William and Henry certainly could. Plus, Harry could be very good looking if he had his teeth and nose fixed.

Transplants actually can look really natural. It depends on how good the doctor is and if he's recreating a hairline or just augmenting one that's still there. I've heard it's really painful, though.
Speaking of, Trump's scalp reduction surgery - he's known to be really loathe to take drugs, even things like aspirin, so I wonder if when he was beating Ivanka was because he wouldn't take painkillers.

His head is not shaved. He clearly has just had the hair cut short as you can see what hair he has left on the top is still there but very short. He probably just got sick of dealing with that whispy sparse hair constantly being blown in the wind. Hair that thin can not be controlled. Hair lacquer is not an option as it would coat the man's scalp and not feel nice at all.

Pretty sure you need to take finasteride tablets if you have a hair transplant which carries a (low) risk of male infertility.
Not ideal for a Prince.
Fine for most gay men though, I've been taking it since my 30's and still have a full head of hair in my early 50's, unlike my straight breeder Brother.

I've been convinced since he started going bald that he was forbidden from using things like finasteride specifically because of concerns over side effects that might compromise the royal gene pool, in one way or another. No young guy who had as a great of a mane as he did in his (early to mid) teens and who was held up as a handsome heart-throb, would have been able to avoid being somewhat vain. And no guy that young gives into hair loss without trying a few things first. Unless, he's forbidden to do so.

[quote] Earl Charles Spencer - Diana's brother - has hair and looks great. Those Windsor genes are awful.
That's not how it works.
Men typically inherit their hair from their mother's father's line. William's maternal grandfather was John, the 8th Earl Spencer. he lost most of his hair in old age (he was a redhead like Harry originally).
The current 9th Earl Spencer, Charles, Diana's brother, inherited hair genes from HIS mother's father line, and his maternal grandfather was Maurice Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy. He did not inherit his hair genes from his father's side.

R81 No, the myth that we inherit our hair genes only from our mother's side is not entirely true either, in fact it's been debunked by multiple studies and genetic analysis. Hair loss is caused by multiple factors including genetics, and with genetics there is a wide variance of factors involved when it comes to androgenic hair loss. Simply put, there isn't one hair loss gene, but a confluence of genetic interplay that determines your chance of going bald like The Rock or having a full head of hair like Ronald Reagan well into old age.
