Legendary amFAR founder Dr. Mathilde Krim is Dead to Me
Don't see any news articles yet, but Peter Staley, ACT Up activist, founder of TAG and one of the subjects of How To Fight a Plague, posted this on his FB a few hours ago....
[QUOTE]My greatest AIDS hero died a few hours ago. Dr. Mathilde Krim, founder of amfAR, warrior against homophobia and AIDS-related stigma, dedicated defender of science and public health, and mother-figure and mentor to countless activists, will leave a deep hole in the continued fight against AIDS -- a fight she dedicated her life to. She as 91.

This makes me sad. Dr. Krim was a pioneer in the fight against AIDS. A countless number of people are alive because of her.

Mathilde Krim was a great and gracious lady. Peter Staley, not so much. Mark Harrington founded TAG but if it make Peter happy to say he did, well, whatever.
