All over that black kid in the monkey shirt.
South Africans trash H&M store over that racist ad

Trashing a store seems pretty tame for South Africa.

H&M might be an international company but their corporate mentality is decidedly home-grown and bigoted.
H&M pulls shirt with skull inside Star of David after complaints
Fashion brand H&M yanked a controversial tank top that showed a human skull inside a Star of David, apologizing to infuriated customers.
Shopper Eylon Aslan-Levy of the U.K. brought attention to the shirt when he posted a snapshot on Twitter on Sunday, later calling it an “obviously unfortunate mistake.”
It’s not clear what the shirt means — if anything — but altering religious symbols is still dangerous territory.
“Fashion statements can work in diverse ways and if you randomly saw somebody wearing this in the street, then you might well believe it to be anti-Semitic and purchased from a neo-Nazi website or similar,” Mark Gardner of the Community Security Trust, Britain’s anti-Semitism watchdog, told London’s Jewish Chronicle.
“It is for H&M to decide if they care about such things, but would they risk such reactions with a Christian crucifix or a Muslim crescent?”
The fast fashion brand was quick to pull the shirts from shelves.
“We are truly sorry for offending anyone with this T-shirt design,” an H&M spokesperson told the Daily News.
“We have taken immediate action and removed the T-shirts from all of our stores globally. Our customers come first and their feedback regarding this issue is the number one priority for H&M.”
This isn’t the first time H&M has carried offensive items. Last year, the retailer stopped selling a multicolored Native American-inspired headdress, after an Ojibwa-Mohawk woman spoke out against the item.

I'm glad that H&M is getting pushback from this stupid ad from around the globe--this was completely insensitive, and is just the latest in a whole series of offensive shirts they've made in hopes of being "edgy."
That being said, the EFF and its leaders Julius Malema and Floyd Shivanmbu have exploited this in order to foster violence. They are real monsters, and will in the future foster much more violence, likely some of it deadly, in South Africa.

Good news to hear!

Isn't South Africa one of those, you know....s---hole countries?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 14, 2018 6:55 AM |
No, South Africa is pretty developed country. Why else would they have an H&M store to trash?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 14, 2018 7:08 AM |
The white people who built South Africa don't deserve this.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 14, 2018 7:19 AM |
Who needs an H&M store? It needs to be trashed for it's over glorified T-shirts and casual wear.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 14, 2018 7:45 AM |
Does Baltimore have one of these stores?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 16, 2018 10:04 PM |
Oddly enough the kid's mother doesn't feel the ad is racist and because of that she's been abused with racist language.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 16, 2018 10:15 PM |
Agree r8. H&M are cheap shitty clothes. Fuck them.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 16, 2018 10:16 PM |
The rioters were obviously NOT the coolest monkeys in the jungle.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 16, 2018 10:17 PM |
Interesting the behavior exhibited shows this a not an anomaly that happens with African Americans but with broader global range of African people

by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 16, 2018 11:29 PM |
This is why we can't have nice things... Or H&M stores.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 16, 2018 11:38 PM |
The people of South Africa are as intellectually well-developed as you and I.
They know all about etiquette and smart clothing.

R23 Yes they could do the same to this video—
(This video claims to show 'exciting traditional Zulu dancing' but it really isn't because traditional Zulus DON'T wear underpants)

Can you imagine, being overseas when Trump says something stupid again, and offends the people, wherever you are? I’m sure it’s already bad. It was bad with Bush, I can’t imagine what it’s like now.

Dear R25, when you get past 25 you'll realise that people who worry more about what strangers think than their own needs are—
1. US ambassadors (on a wage of $119,554)
2 Christians.
3. Naive.

There is nothing wrong with this video. It's cultural dance, you asshole! R28 but they wear underpants and feathers rather than H&M clothing.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 18, 2018 2:04 AM |
Oh. Racial outrage as the excuse for stealing.
So it's not just in America.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 18, 2018 2:05 AM |

Boobies feed the world, and there is nothing wrong with the human body.
Now, the fucked up human racist mind, like yours, then that's another thing!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 18, 2018 2:10 AM |
R33 You're sounding very triggered and obsessing over other issues, but this video at R29 shows a Zulu dance as a comparison to the South African dance at R27.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 18, 2018 2:27 AM |
Dude, I'm triggered because poster -- probably you -- think that there is something wrong with cultural dances.
You're trying to mock a culture.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 18, 2018 6:07 AM |
Dude R35 you're triggering!
Those cultural dances aren't wrong. They're no more wrong than this cultural dance.
