Is he slurring some words here and mispronouncing others?
Utterly smug. A weird mix of lame humour and plain bitchiness. He doesn't even cry like Anderson.
2/10

He sounds like I do when a bit tired.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 13, 2018 6:15 PM |
He was drinking on air during election night.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 13, 2018 6:17 PM |
I watched again he is definitely slurring.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 13, 2018 6:19 PM |
He's Irish, so I'm thinking yes. I'll get flack for this, but I've observed that if you're Irish and you drink, it isn't a question of whether it will ever become a problem, but when.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 13, 2018 6:19 PM |
Maybe his dentures are loose. It happens.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 13, 2018 6:25 PM |
Numbing out the self-awareness of what a tool he actually is?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 13, 2018 6:28 PM |
I refuse to watch his show until he gets rid of that fucking music director who won’t shut the hell up.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 13, 2018 6:32 PM |
I'm sure the money is good, but his moving to The Late Show really killed his legacy. The Colbert Report was beyond great, but now it's diminished.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 13, 2018 6:33 PM |
R9 It's getting far better ratings than David Letterman ever got.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 13, 2018 6:34 PM |
R8 Such a pain in the ass. Laughing loudly at he host's jokes is so VERY Lame-ass.
Why do all these painful hosts have Lame-ass, loud-laughing men holding batons?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 13, 2018 6:36 PM |
Jonathan Batiste is a polyglot talented musician and Juilliard grad. He's skinny, handsome, a bit of a dandy, and sexy if you ask me.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 13, 2018 6:39 PM |
I agree with R12. He still needs to shut the fuck up.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 13, 2018 6:44 PM |
He's great.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 13, 2018 8:00 PM |
Colbert, that is. Colbert is great.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 13, 2018 8:01 PM |
i hate that band. I don't like colbert. boring as fuck! esp his clothing!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 13, 2018 8:12 PM |
Would suck his liberal Catholic daddy dick dry.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 13, 2018 9:44 PM |
Colbert is unsettling. Even his ego seems angry. It is all barely contained by the hyper beagle persona he uses in performance. One day, he's going to snap with one of his guests. It won't be pretty.
Kimmel. All the way.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 13, 2018 10:19 PM |
best show on tv
brilliant writing.....good ratings.
i find him hot in a nerdy way.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 13, 2018 10:40 PM |
R20 He's certainly rambling if not drunk in that clip
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 13, 2018 11:04 PM |
ewww...hot? no way.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 13, 2018 11:09 PM |
OP = more kompromat from the Trump KKKamp against one of his many media critics.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 13, 2018 11:15 PM |
I created this thread months ago. Colbert is frequently serving drinks to guests. And sometimes he seems well lubricated when the show opens.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 12, 2018 4:50 PM |
I thought he was Franco American not Irish.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 12, 2018 4:54 PM |
He talks about drinking scotch and whiskey all the time and often hauls it out during his Confessions sketch or with the occasional guest.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 12, 2018 4:57 PM |
I love the Colbert show. Seth is my favorite, but Colbert a close second. Agree with the others: The band leader has to go. The band (leader) should either be great like The Roots are silent like whoever Kimmel has.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 12, 2018 5:10 PM |
Colbert talks a lot on the show about drinking, particularly as a way of dealing with Trump. Maybe he realizes that there's a problem.
People probably respond to Jon Batiste the way they responded to Paul Shaffer. I like both of them. As sidekicks go, Andy Richter is probably the one who should go. He says so little, so what's he good for? He's a lot funnier on Twitter.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 12, 2018 5:22 PM |
Jon Baptiste is a great sidekick and Stephen is a great host. I'm glad he found his footing. I always swear that I'm only going to watch the monologue and I always end up watching the whole thing, even if I don't give a shit about the guest.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 12, 2018 6:04 PM |
I find him creepy looking and unfunny.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 12, 2018 6:26 PM |
Not funny at all and he looks like a perverted uncle.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 12, 2018 6:40 PM |
What R32 said.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 12, 2018 6:45 PM |
I love him. I loved The Colbert Report, and I love him on the Late Show, now that he's found his focus in trying to explain to America the obscenity of the Trump Regime.
I usually don't stick around for the guests, but his monologues are gold.
And yes, I totally would. Absolutely.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 12, 2018 8:09 PM |
He's very amped up and hyper-active. He keeps mugging at the camera and talking in different voices.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 13, 2018 3:47 AM |
adderall and booze?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 13, 2018 3:49 AM |
I am waiting for the Colbert sex scandal.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 13, 2018 3:51 AM |
Because he sold his soul to Les Moonves and they all have to scream and shriek every 5 seconds to keep the ADHD crowd happy.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 13, 2018 3:51 AM |
He's a drunk and a pedo. And he knows that shit will catch up with him.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 13, 2018 3:54 AM |
R39 spill!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 13, 2018 3:56 AM |
A pedo...and a witch, a commie, a red, a pinko, homosexual, and smart, and you know what I mean by that. Stuck-up smart people.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 13, 2018 4:00 AM |
He's hung like a horse.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 13, 2018 5:49 AM |
I tune in for the monologue, but don't always watch the whole show. Seth is my favorite, especially Jokes Seth Can't Tell.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 13, 2018 5:53 AM |
Back in the day, I used to dream of a S Colbert - Jon Stewart sammich. Not so much anymore, tho.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 13, 2018 6:37 AM |
Oh look, a bunch of deplorable Trumpsters throwing anything they can at any liberal they can think of, hoping it will stick.
How inventive.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 13, 2018 6:41 AM |
I love him.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 13, 2018 6:41 AM |
The wittiest man that I've ever met. So glad he's successful.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 13, 2018 6:46 AM |
Agree with R32.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 13, 2018 7:08 AM |
He's not funny and his timing is so stiff, he constantly steps on his guests stories and is a very poor interviewer. I know who he was but he is still an odd choice to replace Letterman? Trump getting elected saved him, but his nightly town hall meetings disguised as entertainment are very boring. Dude has no sense of humor about himself and seems to have expectations of his guest to align with his "decency." That's where the creep factor comes in. He's like a too soft spoken principal who's touching himself under the desk.
Colbert is not very bright if he thinks his cringe inducing Trump "impersonation" is funny or even recognizable. He sounds like a drunk queen, it's really uncomfortable.
I get that his nerdy Mister Rogers looks are attractive to some people. But they must be men much older than he is, because he's not sexy at all. Not ever. Most of the posters here are in their 60s and UP, I guess. I have only watched one full episode of his shitty show but I see enough of him on Twitter clips.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 13, 2018 7:32 AM |
Did the people who dislike him ever watch The Colbert Report?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 13, 2018 7:36 AM |
Creepy, flabby with nipples which look like the tiny drugged-up pupils in Jonathan Rhys Meyer's eyeballs.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 13, 2018 8:28 AM |
Late night hosts are not traditionally known for being hot.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 13, 2018 8:36 AM |
All our Late night hosts are boring and witless.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 13, 2018 8:42 AM |
Johnny Carson was certainly good looking in early middle age.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 13, 2018 8:54 AM |
Paul Schaffer was annoying. All he did was repeat what David Letterman said.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 13, 2018 9:27 AM |
I love him. His coverage of the hearings today is hilarious. Hilarious as Trey Gowdy's head.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | July 13, 2018 9:38 AM |
He is a genius. Sharper on current events than the Daily Show.
He and Seth Meyers are the only things keeping me sane.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | July 13, 2018 11:10 AM |
If you think Colbert is a genius then you deserve to be fooled by everything else going on. That douche - a genius?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 13, 2018 11:34 AM |
A GENIUS.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 13, 2018 11:35 AM |
Soooooo many disgruntled freepers on this thread.
Hey freepers, why are you still so angry? You have the White House. You have the Senate and Congress. You have most of the governorships and state houses. And you're about to have the Supreme Court.
Why are you still so angry? Why do you feel the need to come to a liberal board and bash liberal talk show hosts? Can't you just be happy and chill out?
Honest question.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 13, 2018 2:27 PM |
I DVR his opening monologues and they're funnier than anything else on TV.
One of his recurrent jokes is needing to drink to be able to live through the day-to-day news coming from DC - and who can blame him.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 13, 2018 2:43 PM |
Jimmy Kimmel isn't as smart as the other ones but his political monologue has developed into something substantial and elegant and he's not snarky about it.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 13, 2018 10:16 PM |
R62 the question is - perhaps its not a "joke" - Colbert is really on the bottle to deal with whatev......
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 13, 2018 10:17 PM |
R61 Is DL "a liberal board"?
It's a mixed board with threads for charming aesthetic men of culture who steadfastly ignore those other threads which attract the angry, frustrated adolescents who whine continuously instead of doing something with their lives.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 13, 2018 10:22 PM |
Trump's the fucking president OP. We all drink.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | July 13, 2018 10:36 PM |
