He looks like Mr. Clean's less attractive brother.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 12, 2018 9:35 PM |
Face and body are fine. Super fine. Not even sure he has such a bad image. Amazon is probably not Mother Theresa to their employees, and I am really concerned what Amazon could do to society. But at this point I don't see him abusing his super power position in the industries he is impacting. Those companies that are closing in retail had it coming; they were in poor shape anyway. What really worries me is that a company of Amazon's or Google's size is crushing startups and new competition before it gets a chance to grow.
But the man Bezos: Yeah, hot.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 12, 2018 9:37 PM |
You too can have such a slamming body. It's quite easy, just keep backstabbing your employees 24/7. That really burns calories and builds muscle mass.

I am the richest person in the world!!!!
You lesser bitches know you want me.

SMELL HER!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 12, 2018 9:51 PM |
In OP's picture, Bezos has the advantage of perfect lighting, good direction from the photographer in posing, a shirt and jeans that would flatter anyone, AND he's by himself and not alongside others. The rest of the photos in the article show him when he does not have these things. He should never have his picture taken standing next to someone like Hemsworth. But in that first picture he's hotness.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 12, 2018 10:41 PM |
When he started Amazon, he looked like a total wimp. Now he's morphed into this alpha top, and he does have an amazing body. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear he's sleeping with his male trainer.
But the shaved head is ridiculous. He looks like a cartoon bad guy.

My gut feeling is that anyone who wants to take over the world is inherently untrustworthy. No one deserves that much power. I bet he always thought he was better than everyone.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 12, 2018 11:05 PM |
Bezos is evil, but he uses his evil for the benefit of his stockholders, so, in a way, I suppose he is not all bad. I've read a number of bad things about him. The one that sticks in mind is, once, he made an offer to buy an online diaper delivery service. The owners did not want to sell. Bezos, though, started his own diaper business, and underpriced the company he wanted to buy so badly that he lost a lot of money; he priced them below cost. Because Bezos underpriced so much and was so aggressive about getting business, the initial company lost a great deal of its customers. Bezos then went back to the diaper delivery company and said something along the lines of "you going to sell to me now?," the implicit threat being that he would keep pummeling them if they did not. He bought the company for a fraction of what he initially offered.
Is that despicable? Yes, it is, but the stockholders benefited.
I always thought Bezos was some nerdy book reader , which is why he started Amazon, but he was actually a successful investment banker who thought books would be the easiest thing to sell online, because, at that time, people were still suspicious of buying online, and books were one size fits all. He had no love of books. He also picked Seattle not because of his love of the culture and the topography there; no, he started there because it offered the lowest taxes.
He's an opportunist and a shrewd businessman, but I do admire his business acumen. I'm of the belief that the market adjusts to reward the best player, and Amazon is the best player, by far. I used to not buy from them solely because I didn't like what he was doing to local business, but now I buy everything from them. They do what they do very very well. So, I reward them with my purchases.
And, yes, he has gotten very sexy lately. I think that is what power and confidence and a personal trainer and HGH will do for you.

Definitely juicing, as beautifully displayed by his custom-tailored tapered shirts; and he has had a nice little chin implant as well. (Click on photo, below, to see larger image of his face and custom-tailored tapered shirts; then scroll up to the photo posted in R23.)
His expression is so damn smug in this photo:

He's an evil fuck, but he's evil on behalf of other rich fucks, so that's okay.
His tactics are evil, but they work, so that's okay.
Why not just admit you're an opportunist without any interest in anything else? On the other hand, you seem to fit right in with many of the cunts on this thread.

I don't understand how anyone can find a guy with a hideous face hot, regardless of what his body looks like. 9/10 when you meet someone they're gonna be wearing clothes. The face is the first thing you can see without clothing in the way. I know ugly dudes like to pretend that if they get super buff they'll be considered attractive. Lol you guys have to stop chasing Instagram models are porn stars. I certainly wouldn't call him movie star handsome but his face is fine and about average for someone in their 50s. None of his facial features are grotesque or even particularly unusual.
And the body is excellent for a guy his age. Grindr in my area has a TON of men his age and Bezos would easily be in the top quartile body wise

R61 -- R21 here. I'm liberal, but I also have an MBA from an Ivy League school, and I'm able to see both sided of a situation. A CEO's job at a publicly-traded company is to increase the value of the company for its stockholders. Has Bezos done that? Absolutely. Hs he pushed the envelope on product development and improved our lives? Yes; Amazon did invent the Kindle, after all. Does he treat his employees badly? Possibly. Do they have to stay there? No, they can get another job if they want. He has made a small company that he started in his garage into an efficient and powerful company. So, yes, he has done his job well by any measure you want to use.

He goes to the gym and wears tailor made clothing. Those tight white shirts are not ready-to-wear, purchased on line.

The kindle sucks. It’s like basically a calculator when compared to an iPad or iPad mini.
He is the Henry Ford of the internet, he didn’t invent the automobile, but lucked out on timing. Other companies will catch up and when they do, people will have a choice again.
He should pay his employees more money and not be a slave driver. Just because you move an item off your books and on to the welfare rolls doesn’t make it go away.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | January 15, 2018 12:50 PM |
dude is hideous as far as appearance, his dark intensity is frightful.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | January 15, 2018 12:52 PM |
There is no tailoring that can give an overweight guy a v-shape. His arms looked pretty damn big even while bare like in R13. And in R16, his chest seems pretty well formed. Good tailoring flatters features, but can't recreate them. That's like padding R104. In the very few pictures posted here he looks in great shape for a 54 year old guy in all of them
by Anonymous | reply 108 | January 15, 2018 12:52 PM |
R106 I don't give that much of a fuck what people say about Bezos but I will not let anyone trash the kindle.
It's not meant to be a tablet and doesn't advertise itself as such. It's just for reading and does that exceptionally. What you are looking at is magnetized ink arranged into shapes so its no different on your eyes than actually reading a book. You can do it for hours without harm. And the battery lasts literally a month and I read everyday.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | January 15, 2018 12:55 PM |
Go away, R108. I clearly stated, "He goes to the gym...."
But he also has unlimited funding to tailor his wardrobe and hire the best photographers. When we see photos of him in a swim suit romping on the beach in Kauai, we will actually know something about his body.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 15, 2018 12:57 PM |
He’s only 54? The souls of the mistreated employees and their destitude families must be taking their toll physically.
And to think of the Asian children who have to put together all the crap from amazon, including kindles, and their bloody knuckles and bandages feet workkng the 18 hour days in the toxic plants. The kids sleep on cots in the factories and eat gruel.
And all the plastic and mercury that gets distributed in the environment along the way. By all means, send me items using planes, trains and automobiles and wonder why the earth is melting.
None of this is sustainable, in all senses of the word, not to mention cruel. So count me out.
I’d rather support a website that promotes and sells local, regional and stateside produced products. Thats what everybody should be doing.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | January 15, 2018 1:00 PM |
Again, these are his bare arms with no fabric. And tailoring isn't magic lol. If that was the case do you think you'd ever see a rich thin guy ever? No, they'd all get this "super tailoring" you're talking about. Like Zuckerburg is in okay shape. Why doesn't he get this tailoring?
by Anonymous | reply 112 | January 15, 2018 1:01 PM |
R113 That vest jacket is tailored to make his arms look like that
by Anonymous | reply 114 | January 15, 2018 1:06 PM |
How long until they antitrust his ass?
Good thing they will have 2 headquarters for when they are forced to split up. Then maybe they can have competitive wages.
They way they put the warehouses in the small desperate towns in order to exploit the workers who have no other choice but to work there is diabolical.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | January 15, 2018 1:13 PM |
R115 His worker pay is scheme is gross. Most of these people need social services anyway so we are subsidizing low employment.
BUT these small town people are also partially responsible for their own suffering. They refuse to elect democrats who will invest in infrastructure, raise wages, or do anything else to help them. If you hate minorities more than you love your family that's your own fault. Still we need to stop subsidizing low wages from rich companies.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | January 15, 2018 1:19 PM |
Corporate welfare dips at both ends. It’s disgusting.
They have it all. The towns have been scraped of all valuables and distributed among the rich.
Enough is enough.

This is an interesting interview with him. Of course it's very "puffy" and there's nothing about the labor practices but a few things he talks about are:
- Letting small businesses grow on amazon and store their inventory in amazon's warehouse so they can sell with prime (but ignore the fact they put tons out of business...)
- Letting people self-publish & giving more visibility / legitimacy to self-publishing than it has had in the past
- Green initiatives. He has worked with manufacturers for 10 years to get rid of clamshell sealed plastic packaging so they offer" frustration free packaging" mostly due to amazon pushing them for it. (It's hard to recycle the other packaging, aside from the fact there are E.R. statistics on people needing stitches from opening it). He's also moved toward a lot of green power sources like google.
The evil laugh is within the first 5 min.
I'm not sure if the humility is fake, but he does say he "won the lottery" with amazon and so on... he plays down any insinuation that he was some e-commerce oracle, while at the same time you see millennials in their non-profitable "disruptive" start-ups in SF acting like they're Steve Jobs. His early interviews in the 90s when he was a mega nerd reflect a similar personality. It surprises me that he's such an ass hole / slave driver with no concern for employee welfare or corporate culture.

[quote]A CEO's job at a publicly-traded company is to increase the value of the company for its stockholders.
What responsibility does a CEO at a publicly-traded company have toward the company's employees and toward the community in which the company operates? Or is increasing shareholder value the only thing that matters?
by Anonymous | reply 133 | January 15, 2018 3:13 PM |
R133, legally a CEO's fiduciary role is to increase share price and nothing else. Not even generate more revenue or profit. A CEO can actually be sued for doing something detrimental to the stock price if it's malicious.
Morally and to some degree commonsense wise there is of course you should be doing. but that's not what the person you are quoting meant.

r134 it's that pure shareholder model itself that's the problem, because it encourages personal greed amongst CEOs over and above their fiduciary duty. It also encourages an executive 'pump and dump' mentality, where the CEOs will hide or ignore serious industry flaws until they're vested or they leave with their golden parachutes. Ultimately, they will either leave or be forced out, but the shareholders will be suffering the consequences, especially if it's a hot button issue where not only the shares, but the actual long term reputation of the company takes a huge hit.
Either that, or like the recent Intel exec, will fuck over even their shareholders for the sake of a adding few more zeroes to their net worth.

by Anonymous | reply 148 | January 15, 2018 5:58 PM |
R146 I wouldn't really call it a model. Shareholders, who usually don't work for the company, determine who the next CEO is. They hire someone to increase their own wealth, which only happens by raising the share price.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | January 15, 2018 5:59 PM |
I think he works out because (a) he feels compelled to act out the idea of being a powerful corporate titan, and looking like he's about to get beat up for his lunch money (cf the pic at R138) just won't do, and
(b) he's trying to get laid. I suspect there are some escorts in Seattle (I suspect male but they could be female) who have some stories to tell about him.
As for R146, I don't think he's personally greedy or out for his shareholders either (he's never been interested in profits) - I think on a personal level he just wants market power and dominance. That would explain his look.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | January 15, 2018 6:00 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 151 | January 15, 2018 6:02 PM |
149 I thought the Board of Directors would appoint the CEO, no? And the average shareholder probably doesn't have a really say in the board make-up, especially for a larger company. Most shareholders would probably give them leeway at any rate.
They're going to be screwed by people who come in and aren't thinking long term, which is what a most shareholders will be looking for. They also can do a lot of damage to a company's future stock price by covering up for their own benefit.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | January 15, 2018 6:07 PM |
R152 in theory all shareholders have a say but in practice, for any company to be functional, they have a majority of stock between the CEO, the board, and maybe 4 or 5 banks, hedgefunds or other MAJOR shareholders. Once they've assembled a majority of the stock, they can just decide among themselves. It would be chaos if they ever had to call a full vote.

Amazon's culture is well-known to be very rough... nothing to do with Trump. Bezos is an innovative person & had the right combo of foresight, dedication, timing, and luck. Why he's treating his employees like slaves & people there hate their lives is unfortunate ... really seems unnecessary for the kind of money they are making. Tech companies all work you hard, but they seem a bit excessive in most things I have read.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | January 15, 2018 8:38 PM |
Bingo!! It’s unnecessarily to cheap out on the employees. It’s needless sabotage.
It would not hurt the company one bit to raise the wages. It would also help to show goodwill for when they are attacked. It makes no sense at all, business or otherwise, to mistreat the employees.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | January 15, 2018 8:43 PM |
Bezos is also relentlessly hard on the tech employees. He gives them shares that vest after 4 years. So if you submit to the grueling program for those four years, he makes you rich. Many have made the trade: four years of hell for being a millionaire. And many quit immediately after the shares vest.

Amazon bans its customers from making too many returns.
They are free to do what they want, and obviously there were some customers abusing their liberal return policy (though many banned people were normal customers for 10+ years that just returned something expensive, so it was a high percentage of their total purchases). They lie about this policy when asked. They won't give any stipulations to customers about X returns per year maximum or what % of items can be returned, but people figured out it is 10%. You also lose any gift cards and the rest of your prime membership, without refund.

I met Bezos years ago--I'd say 5'8" or so. He still had hair back then. Very smart, thinks very long-term. Not Mr. Evil, but not Mr. Compassion either. The employees he needs are paid well. The employees who can be easily replaced (aka warehouse workers) aren't. Long-term, we won't be hearing complaints about how Amazon treats its warehouse employees because there won't be very many--robots will take over more and more of the jobs. Unhappy Amazon workers who quit make it easier for Amazon to automate without mass lay-offs. Same with the use of seasonal workers.
Bezos does believe in science and good information--he, personally, owns the Washington Post and he's done a remarkable job there--it's reported to be profitable and the WP has actually been able to increase its news staff. Bezos stays out of the editorial room and doesn't interfere with news judgment.
Trump's threats are fairly meaningless to Bezos--undo Amazon's deal with the USPS? Amazon isn't that far away from setting up its own delivery service.
FWIW, he's been married to the same woman for years (four kids--I think it's three sons and an adopted daughter.) No rumors I've heard, but Bezos is discreet. He only tells people what he wants them to know.
