by Anonymousreply 1January 8, 2018 1:46 AM

Does anyone find it ironic that on a night when they are honoring victims of sexual assault in the industry that they give a special tribute to Kirk Douglas given the rumors of what he did to Natalie Wood?

by Anonymousreply 23January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

OH. That's why it won -- it's an Amazon project. The check really DID clear.

Who has even heard of that show??

by Anonymousreply 24January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

Meant "Babs"

by Anonymousreply 25January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

Um, what was THAT

by Anonymousreply 26January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

Maybe Babs is giving Opera her award.

by Anonymousreply 27January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

Aziz! Yeah boyeeeee! 👍🏽

by Anonymousreply 28January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

Yea, Aziz!!!

by Anonymousreply 29January 8, 2018 1:57 AM

I’m glad Aziz won.

by Anonymousreply 30January 8, 2018 1:57 AM

I hate Aziz. He’s not funny and he’s a jerk IRL.

by Anonymousreply 31January 8, 2018 1:57 AM

don't care for his sense of humr

by Anonymousreply 32January 8, 2018 1:57 AM

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was really good

by Anonymousreply 33January 8, 2018 1:57 AM

Ugh Aziz

by Anonymousreply 34January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

Aziz is unfunny and not a great actor

by Anonymousreply 35January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

Aziz has a huge penis I hear. Yum!

by Anonymousreply 36January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

I guess people are giving these awards to that obscure Sherman Palladino show since their better show Gilmore Girls was never recognized??

by Anonymousreply 37January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

I LOve Aziz

by Anonymousreply 38January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

Mr DeMille, Oprah is ready for her close up

by Anonymousreply 39January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

The Robbery Night

by Anonymousreply 40January 8, 2018 1:58 AM

Aziz is so very tired and bozo.

by Anonymousreply 41January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

Is Aziz still single? He’s been looking for a girlfriend for a loooooong time

Hmmmm

Maybe he is an asshole

by Anonymousreply 42January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

Is everyone here really serious about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel right now? It's the talk of the town, this show! Watch it!

by Anonymousreply 43January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

Aziz is an actor like Jerry Seinfeld is an actor.

by Anonymousreply 44January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

I'm about 2 hours behind and I'm still watching the NBC red carpet special but I just wanted to chime in that Natalie Morales is one of the fakest television personalities I've ever seen. No wonder she was taken off Today. Horrific.

by Anonymousreply 45January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

And a nomination for Anthony Anderson, who was accused of raping two women. Time’s up apparently!

by Anonymousreply 46January 8, 2018 1:59 AM

Barbra is the most decorated Golden Globe winner in history, so of course she should be there to exercise her superiority over the other actors.

by Anonymousreply 47January 8, 2018 2:00 AM

Aziz has a schtick that got old quickly. It's all he'll ever have. No range whatsoever.

by Anonymousreply 48January 8, 2018 2:00 AM

Does anyone know what the upcoming categories are?

by Anonymousreply 49January 8, 2018 2:00 AM

Why the fuck is Oprah getting an award??

Let me know when that segment is over.

by Anonymousreply 54January 8, 2018 2:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 55January 8, 2018 2:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 62January 8, 2018 2:03 AM

Bahbwah, what is it you can’t face?

by Anonymousreply 63January 8, 2018 2:03 AM

Barbra looks amazing! She looks younger than Meryl, Helen Mirren and Frances McDoormat.

by Anonymousreply 64January 8, 2018 2:03 AM

The blonde dwarf on the stage is scary.

by Anonymousreply 65January 8, 2018 2:03 AM

by Anonymousreply 79January 8, 2018 2:05 AM

by Anonymousreply 80January 8, 2018 2:05 AM

Reese is not nice.

by Anonymousreply 81January 8, 2018 2:05 AM

Enough with Oprah.

Keith Urban looks so gay

by Anonymousreply 82January 8, 2018 2:05 AM

Barbra is going to rise from her seat and slap the shit out of Reese. And Nicole Kidman will cheer.

by Anonymousreply 83January 8, 2018 2:05 AM

Reese Witherspoon said Gayle knows Oprah's warm hugs, but didn't say Stedman knew them.

by Anonymousreply 92January 8, 2018 2:07 AM

Oprah has more money then that awful kid who invented Facebook.

by Anonymousreply 93January 8, 2018 2:07 AM

Maybe Oprah should run for President.

by Anonymousreply 94January 8, 2018 2:07 AM

Oprah really does have a natural talent for acting.

by Anonymousreply 101January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

Yes Oprah looks great

by Anonymousreply 102January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

R87 I remember Oprah had so much Oscar hope riding on that movie. She produced it and also had the book on her book club. Remember when women would go buy whatever book Oprah picked on her show? Anyway, the movie opened and was a big flop. Oprah even admitted to being so depressed that she ate tubs of mac & cheese all weekend.

by Anonymousreply 103January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

oprah's nosejob still healing.

she looks gooder

by Anonymousreply 104January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

No, seriously, what. The. Fuck. Has that woman done to warrant one of the most prestigious awards Hollywood can bestow on an actor/director?

Her movies suck and make no money. Fuck that.

by Anonymousreply 105January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

Oh god, I love her, but she always always always mentions Sidney Poitier.

by Anonymousreply 106January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

Oprah looks good.

by Anonymousreply 107January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

Who's biracial Tom Hanks in the front row?

by Anonymousreply 108January 8, 2018 2:09 AM

Reese Witherspoon looks *flawless*.

by Anonymousreply 109January 8, 2018 2:10 AM

Looks like Alex will fill his hotel room tonight with various male models so he can bang em.,

by Anonymousreply 110January 8, 2018 2:10 AM

I am absolutely OBSESSED with Reese's chin! The mere sight of it truly immobilizes me wherever I may be when it literally stops me in my tracks, whether it be her image on a magazine cover, a television commercial, her appearance on a random talk show, or as with this evening, a celebratory award show for her glorious chin.

(Truthfully, I am compelled to run to the magazine cover, the television commercial, the televised talk show, and this evening's celebratory award show to fulfill my compulsion, as my not fulfilling it shall bring bad luck about those I love: placing my thumb over the image of her chin to bring her face into proper proportion.)

by Anonymousreply 111January 8, 2018 2:10 AM

I'm hoping Oprah will use her speech to finally express publicly the resentment toward Michelle for not giving her any pie at the White House. If not now, when?

by Anonymousreply 112January 8, 2018 2:10 AM

I want Reese to tell me she loves me

by Anonymousreply 113January 8, 2018 2:10 AM

I liked Beloved. But let's be honest, Oprah's film career never took off.

She's only getting this award because she's Oprah, not because of a prestigious acting career.

by Anonymousreply 114January 8, 2018 2:11 AM

First Black Woman to get the award

by Anonymousreply 115January 8, 2018 2:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 199January 8, 2018 2:21 AM

The Shape of Water is brilliant.

by Anonymousreply 200January 8, 2018 2:21 AM

I really enjoyed Shape of Water but didn't feel as if I was watching a truly great movie. Guess this is why I don't know shit about movies. Shrug.

by Anonymousreply 201January 8, 2018 2:21 AM

Yay! congrats to Guillermo

by Anonymousreply 202January 8, 2018 2:21 AM

I want a meme of CZJ playing peek a boo with her menu. Will someone tech savvy please make this happen?

by Anonymousreply 205January 8, 2018 2:22 AM

Guillermo thanks the monsters.

by Anonymousreply 206January 8, 2018 2:22 AM

WoW! Guillermo already got "The Music" after just 1 minute into his speech!

by Anonymousreply 207January 8, 2018 2:22 AM

I will be pissed if CMBYN doesn’t win.

by Anonymousreply 208January 8, 2018 2:22 AM

Fuck if they feel they can NEVER nominate women for best director because in their minds the uterus bearers cannot compete with male genius, these sons of bitches should create two categories for best directors, male and female just like for actors. Bastards.

by Anonymousreply 209January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

CMBYN is going to get nada tonight.

by Anonymousreply 210January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

Damn Apple commercial. Never, ever spring all of those amputees on me without warning.

by Anonymousreply 211January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

Christopher Nolan should have won for Dunkirk, a masterfully crafted film.

And Nolan isn't fat

by Anonymousreply 212January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

Guillermo already got "The Music" after just 1 minute into his speech!

that's racist

by Anonymousreply 213January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

re Kirk & Natalie Wood: there's supposedly an unspoken tacit agreement between their families to wait until Kirk dies, then have the true story outed and confirmed. Kind of a 'wait until the old man dies, then you can have at him and extract justice'. Supposedly Michael will not defend him or speak out against Wood's fam if they come forward later.

by Anonymousreply 214January 8, 2018 2:23 AM

please elf gods above

give timmie a win.

by Anonymousreply 215January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Shut up Nolan fanboys

by Anonymousreply 216January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Prepare to be pissed, R208

by Anonymousreply 217January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Clarkson and Metz are hogs who are wearing tents yet no mention on Datalounge of Del Toto’s appearance

by Anonymousreply 218January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Is this show almost over? Babs is looking for a quick exit.

by Anonymousreply 219January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Oprah sure is speaking a different tune now. Remember two days after the election when she declared everyone should take a deep breath and everything was going to be OK with Trump?

by Anonymousreply 220January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Has cmbyn even been up for something tonight? I don't think they've even had their categories yet.

by Anonymousreply 221January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

[quote]Guillermo thanks the monsters.

Did Streisand have something to do with his win?

by Anonymousreply 222January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

You just know that O is going to use that Golden Globe as a dildo to fuck Gayle with later tonight.

by Anonymousreply 223January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Guillermo Just had to copy a Lady Gaga.

by Anonymousreply 224January 8, 2018 2:24 AM

Do any of you buy Christina Hendricks as a woman who struggles in the modern world? Also, how awkward is every aspect of Clint Eastwood's next picture?

by Anonymousreply 225January 8, 2018 2:25 AM

I was dreading Oprah’s speech, and it took her awhile to get there, but that was a remarkable speech.

by Anonymousreply 226January 8, 2018 2:25 AM

I think that was the first time I've ever see Ron Howard without a baseball cap. It took him a long time to embrace his baldness.

by Anonymousreply 227January 8, 2018 2:25 AM

Did I miss the CMBYN showcase?! Gerwig said this is the final one.

by Anonymousreply 228January 8, 2018 2:26 AM

Ladybird did zero for me.

by Anonymousreply 229January 8, 2018 2:26 AM

by Anonymousreply 235January 8, 2018 2:28 AM

Oprah Is an incredible orator

by Anonymousreply 236January 8, 2018 2:28 AM

I love Oprah but don't understand why she got an award.

by Anonymousreply 237January 8, 2018 2:28 AM

Being a summer release prob hurt Dunkirk's awards chances. I could see if it came out in November how people would be like omgit'ssobrilliant.

by Anonymousreply 238January 8, 2018 2:28 AM

Great night for Reese. She’s a producer of BLL

by Anonymousreply 243January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

Feud was much more entertaining than that snoozefest BLL.

by Anonymousreply 244January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

that cloying insipid voice of Reese....

good god

by Anonymousreply 245January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

by Anonymousreply 246January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

R235, bless your heart.

by Anonymousreply 247January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

r242 funny

by Anonymousreply 248January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

R189 - ???

by Anonymousreply 250January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

Greta Gerwig just announced ... her own movie LadyBird lmao ..... that was odd.

Meanwhile Nat Portman is GOD AKA the devil aka Satan.

by Anonymousreply 251January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

I wanna go see The Shape of Water

by Anonymousreply 252January 8, 2018 2:29 AM

Why indeed!!

I'll say it: I hate Oprah Winfrey.

by Anonymousreply 253January 8, 2018 2:30 AM

How could Dunkirk lose for direction? I don’t get it.

by Anonymousreply 261January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

off the subject, i saw the MOST amazing series on Netflix last nite: London Spy, gay thriller, top notch, spell binding...

by Anonymousreply 262January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

OMG Reese get the fuck out of my screen !!!

by Anonymousreply 263January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

Barbra is presenting for Best Picture.

by Anonymousreply 264January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

Jessica Lange was ROBBED!! She was brilliant in 'Feud.' She should have won simply on the power of her performance in the final episode. Jessica was mesmerizing.

by Anonymousreply 265January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

Reese just tried to copy Oprah's speech with the "Time's Up" mantra and she just comes off as a wannabe.

by Anonymousreply 266January 8, 2018 2:31 AM

Reese is completely hogging the stage.

by Anonymousreply 267January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

This JLaw spy thriller looks awful

Is that why it’s being dumped in March?

by Anonymousreply 268January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

This show used to be fun-- it is beyond boring!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 272January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

Nolan is so overrated

by Anonymousreply 273January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

These Accord commercials are absolutely beautiful. Love the animation.

by Anonymousreply 274January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

CMBYN and D shut out by SOW, IT and TBOEM so far.

by Anonymousreply 275January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

I guess Rose didn't get invited tonight or she's not sitting up front with Salma and Ashley.

by Anonymousreply 276January 8, 2018 2:32 AM

Why has Jennifer Aniston been reduced to eye drop commercials?

Also, where are the gifs of Angelina glaring at Oprah?

by Anonymousreply 277January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Giving Best Director to a Mexican or person from other preferred countries is very HFPA-ish. It doesn't indicate anything for the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 278January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

That was Flopman who said to unite behind Trump, r220. I also noticed during Seth's opening monologue, Flopman kept her eyes firmly looking down and not laughing at any 'Weinstein-type' jokes. She wants this big movie roles.

by Anonymousreply 279January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Lange has 2 undeserved Oscars to console her. She'll be fine.

by Anonymousreply 280January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

by Anonymousreply 284January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

These awards are all very political and silly but at least the GGs keep the show moving. I'm so grateful for no insipid production numbers.

by Anonymousreply 285January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Nolan was seriously robbed.

by Anonymousreply 286January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Dunkirk would have worked better as a porno

by Anonymousreply 287January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Barbra had the coveted seat beside Oprah. Even Gayle was seated two down on the other side of James Brolin.

by Anonymousreply 288January 8, 2018 2:33 AM

Shitstain is wearing stilts and can't walk in them.

by Anonymousreply 289January 8, 2018 2:34 AM

[quote]Giving Best Director to a Mexican or person from other preferred countries is very HFPA-ish. It doesn't indicate anything for the Oscars.

If del Toro wins the Oscar, the last 4 out of 5 best directors will have been Mexican.

by Anonymousreply 290January 8, 2018 2:34 AM

Completely agree, R273.

Damn, Streisand with the face full of fillers. WTF?

by Anonymousreply 294January 8, 2018 2:34 AM

Chastain fucked up twice.

by Anonymousreply 295January 8, 2018 2:35 AM

Ha ha the promos for the Seth Myers Late show have him surrounded by newspapers

They want him to avoid the “no news” approach of Fallon since it was such a failure

by Anonymousreply 296January 8, 2018 2:35 AM

by Anonymousreply 306January 8, 2018 2:36 AM

Hemsworth is so fucking gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 307January 8, 2018 2:36 AM

It’s so funny when you call Kidman “Flopman” since all she does is win.

It’s so funny that you don’t know what “flop” means

by Anonymousreply 308January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

It’s nice that Frances McDormand went without any makeup or hair products

by Anonymousreply 309January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

by Anonymousreply 310January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

by Anonymousreply 311January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

CMBYN!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 312January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

It only just occurred to me that Maggie Smith isn't nominated for anything tonight - so why is she there? All those times she has been nominated, she doesn't show up, and yet when she isn't - she does?

by Anonymousreply 313January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

Sorry but I thought Dunkirk was a letdown. It just didn’t convey the immensity of the event - I don’t know, I expected more. It was boring.

by Anonymousreply 314January 8, 2018 2:37 AM

Loved seeing Tonya Harding there. She's paid her dues. Enough. No one should be punished forever over skating.

by Anonymousreply 315January 8, 2018 2:38 AM

by Anonymousreply 319January 8, 2018 2:38 AM

by Anonymousreply 320January 8, 2018 2:39 AM

Pfft. Trash Harding has never shown remorse, never apologized to Kerrigan, never taken accountability. She can crawl back under the rock.

by Anonymousreply 321January 8, 2018 2:39 AM

The Shape of Water 10/10

by Anonymousreply 325January 8, 2018 2:39 AM

by Anonymousreply 327January 8, 2018 2:39 AM

by Anonymousreply 334January 8, 2018 2:40 AM

Harding has always denied involvement despite evidence linking her to the crime. I hate people like that.

by Anonymousreply 335January 8, 2018 2:40 AM

by Anonymousreply 336January 8, 2018 2:40 AM

Is Greta Gerwig the new Diablo Cody?

by Anonymousreply 377January 8, 2018 2:46 AM

I remember when Salma Hayek was a serious contender for the SELENA movie way back when. I had been a Selena fan prior to her death, so I knew a lot about her when she died and became a big story. Anyway, I was like, "Why? Her accent is so thick!" Selena never had a Spanish accent. She was born and raised in Texas and had a bit of a twang. But she didn't sound like a Mexican immigrant.

by Anonymousreply 378January 8, 2018 2:46 AM

Whose home did Greta wreck?

Dakota Johnson gets to be an ACTRESS! You know how many people dream of being that? The least she could do is show some enthusiasm.

by Anonymousreply 383January 8, 2018 2:47 AM

Gerwig is supposedly nice. It’s her partner Noah Baumbach who has the rep for being a dick. Tho supposedly Greta and Noah hooked up when he was still married to Jennifer Jason Leigh and they had a one year old.

by Anonymousreply 384January 8, 2018 2:47 AM

That was Jennifer Lopez in Selena. Hayek did the pic about Frida Khalo.

by Anonymousreply 385January 8, 2018 2:47 AM

Jennifer Lopez was in SELENA.

by Anonymousreply 386January 8, 2018 2:47 AM

Why do they worry about it so much if these things go over, televised sporting events do it all the time.

Hayek cant do accents

by Anonymousreply 389January 8, 2018 2:48 AM

Bets on whether La Babs makes some crack about how she's glad women are FINALLY getting recognition, reminding us all of her brilliant directing career, snubbed by the awards powers-that-be.

by Anonymousreply 390January 8, 2018 2:48 AM

[quote]Whose home did Greta wreck?

Don't listen to Jennifer. She's been bitter since the start.

R378 even though you are very drunk, I am still embarrassed for you

by Anonymousreply 392January 8, 2018 2:48 AM

And Frida had a Mexican accent because she was Mexican so there you go.

by Anonymousreply 393January 8, 2018 2:48 AM

Yeah, Noah Baumbach's the douche.

by Anonymousreply 394January 8, 2018 2:48 AM

if Salmonella hadn't married mr Louis Vuitton she would be making B movies......

by Anonymousreply 395January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

No openly gay man has ever won the Oscar; I wonder if that is prejudice or chance

“How clever, how clever

McKellen then said of Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sean Penn winning best actor Oscars for playing gay men. “What about giving me one for playing a straight man?” he asked.

by Anonymousreply 396January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

Why is Hayek's accent getting stronger??

I think CMBYN is kind of creepy looking. Hammer looks waaaaay older and it's kind of disturbing.

Did Dakota Johnson flinch when she was announced as the star of Fifty Shades Freed?! Ha.

by Anonymousreply 397January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

If they can't reward black, they'll go for Hispanic to try to get diversity points. Hence, all the Mexican directors winning.

by Anonymousreply 398January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

R378 is supremely misinformed for a self-confessed Selena fan.

by Anonymousreply 399January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

How did R346 quote R350? Im'a scared.

by Anonymousreply 400January 8, 2018 2:49 AM

I am also not into making Tonya Harding into some kind of hero. Geez. Allison Janney was her usual coked out self

by Anonymousreply 401January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

Dakota Johnson is depressed because the only reason she has a career is because of her parents and her willingness to show her puss in those awful GRAY movies.

I don’t blame her.

by Anonymousreply 402January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

Barbra actually won the GG for Best Director for Yentl, so she can't say anything.

by Anonymousreply 403January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

I worked on the crew of the remake of Arthur. Greta Gerwig was a cunt on that set.

by Anonymousreply 404January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

by Anonymousreply 407January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

I didn't say Selma Hayek ended up playing Selena. I said she was a serious contender, as in her name was in contention because she happened to be one of the few prominent Latinas in Hollywood at the time. She was more known than J.Lo in 1995. I know J.LO ended up playing the part, but I was talking about my initial reaction when reading about the possibility of Salma in the Selena biopic.

by Anonymousreply 408January 8, 2018 2:50 AM

Salma's accent was the only bad thing about Tale of Tales

by Anonymousreply 409January 8, 2018 2:51 AM

[quote]Why is Hayek's accent getting stronger??

I wondered about that and also her skin looked really dark.

Greta Gerwig is bi. She had numerous affairs with women in college and Kate McKinnon attended the same school and was pals with Greta. Something probably went down with those two.

by Anonymousreply 425January 8, 2018 2:52 AM

Someone should change her Wikipedia page is she was born in Texas.

Hayek was born Salma Hayek Jiménez in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico

She left out the lifelong impact of child abuse and domestic violence. I dont know how she overlooked that, but this is so obvious I dont think she will have to mention it. Goes hand in hand with sexual abuse/assault.

R426 OMG, do people on Dl lack reading comprehension skills? First, I'm accused of saying that Selma Hayek was in the SELENA movie, even though I clearly said no such thing, and now this? I said Selena was born and raised in Texas, not Salma. That's why Selena didn't have a Spanish accent when she spoke, unlike Salma.

by Anonymousreply 460January 8, 2018 2:55 AM

Congrats, elders! Does this mean that you’ve finally come to grips with Pia’s win?

by Anonymousreply 463January 8, 2018 2:55 AM

Did people really think Chalamet would win...?

Getting nominated is winning for him. He is freakin 22 and a year ago no one knew who he was.

by Anonymousreply 464January 8, 2018 2:55 AM

Congrats to woman beating antisemite Gary Oldman. You and Last year’s shit stain Affleck will have loads in common.

R449 Are the voting tallies for GGs released?

by Anonymousreply 467January 8, 2018 2:56 AM

Denzel has been an asshole for a good long while now. I’ll never forget how bitter and arrogant his 60 Minutes profile many years ago. He’s probably had all the females in his family fawning over how pretty he was growing up which sets him up to get all pissy when he feels he’s not getting the proper attention.

by Anonymousreply 468January 8, 2018 2:56 AM

Denzel knows that he's only there for diversity. He knows that he didn't stand a chance. He's a token nominee like Octavia Spencer.

This just goes to show, whoever gains/loses the most weight or sits in the makeup chair the longest will win, doesn't matter if the film or the acting is any good. Christian Bale will win next year for gaining 100 pounds to play Dick Cheney, mark my words.

by Anonymousreply 469January 8, 2018 2:56 AM

"Moonlight" won because it avoided any real homosex. There's a suggested handjob and it ends with a fairly chaste bro-cuddle where they're barely touching.

by Anonymousreply 470January 8, 2018 2:56 AM

R460 Looks, it's clear you know nothing about Selena, Selma, Texas, or Veracruz, so you should stop digging yourself out of that immensely deep hole, my boy!

I remember 1986 when Gary Oldman and Daniel Day Lewis were the IT young English actors. I don't think many would have thought DDT would have 3 Oscars and Oldman would just nab one nomination in thirty years. Back in the 80's, you wouldn't have thought there was that big of a quality gap between the two. Pleasant irony Oldman wins tonight with DDT as a rival nominee.

by Anonymousreply 477January 8, 2018 2:57 AM

by Anonymousreply 478January 8, 2018 2:57 AM

by Anonymousreply 479January 8, 2018 2:57 AM

Sarandon tried to announce the winner without even naming Denzel as a nominee.

Looked like things were pretty uncomfortable between Sarandon and Davis.

Three Billboards is overrated.

I was a big fan of "In Bruges" and expected to love it, but I did not.

by Anonymousreply 559January 8, 2018 3:06 AM

Frances reminds me a mentally challenged woman on the bus

by Anonymousreply 560January 8, 2018 3:06 AM

Ann Dowd didn't seem to care much for Babs.

by Anonymousreply 561January 8, 2018 3:06 AM

Babs: “Someone backstage mentioned....”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

by Anonymousreply 562January 8, 2018 3:06 AM

Ann Dowd is an award stealer.

by Anonymousreply 563January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Love Frances and her really do not give a fuck attitude. She’s a great actress, too.

by Anonymousreply 564January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

That's it CMBYN going home empty-handed

by Anonymousreply 565January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Babs is bordering JocelynWildestein territory

by Anonymousreply 566January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Babs is veering into Wildenstein territory

by Anonymousreply 567January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Frances is straight JUICED!

by Anonymousreply 568January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Let's see who gets to speak longer this evening: Oprah or Babs.

by Anonymousreply 569January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

"I'm not going to sing."

No one even asked...

by Anonymousreply 570January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Three Billboards will win SAG Ensemble and then Best Pic.

by Anonymousreply 571January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Wow, that was last on my list of the movies nominated.

by Anonymousreply 572January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Call Me By Your Name won nothing.

by Anonymousreply 573January 8, 2018 3:07 AM

Saw both TSoW and Hillboards and Sally should have got the award. Frances was just being cantankerous as usual. Sally was amazing.

by Anonymousreply 574January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

Sorry, homos. You won Best Picture last year. You don’t get two wins in a row.

Oooh noooo!!! Whatever will we do???

by Anonymousreply 576January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

Michelle Pfieffer looks lonely

by Anonymousreply 577January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

Three Billboards? I’m skipping the Oscars.

by Anonymousreply 578January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is not even a drama film

by Anonymousreply 579January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

The world still hates gays.

by Anonymousreply 580January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

[quote]That's it CMBYN going home empty-handed

That was expected. What was it going to win?

It should win adapted screenplay at the oscars, that was the only oscar anyone sane thought it would take home.

by Anonymousreply 581January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

[quote]Babs: “Someone backstage mentioned....”

Yes, she just happened to hear it...

by Anonymousreply 582January 8, 2018 3:08 AM

Lots of advocacy for women in more roles, more pay, etc. It's being better received than when there was advocacy for more inclusion of People of Color.

by Anonymousreply 583January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

I don’t think anyone saw the Billboard movie.

by Anonymousreply 584January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

I hated Three Billboards - Frances was fine but the movie is a mess

by Anonymousreply 585January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

Does anyone else hate the title of Three Billboards? It’s pretentious as fuck.

by Anonymousreply 586January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

Who's hosting the Oscars?

by Anonymousreply 587January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

Oh please, just because you all have been obsessing and fapping over CMBYN all year doesn’t mean it should win.

by Anonymousreply 588January 8, 2018 3:09 AM

After show on E network

by Anonymousreply 589January 8, 2018 3:10 AM

without all the filters, photoshop and lightning, Jolie looks lost.

When did Richard Carpenter get a British accent and start producing movies?

by Anonymousreply 591January 8, 2018 3:10 AM

[quote]I don’t think anyone saw the Billboard movie.

It has made over 25 mil at the domestic box office so far, that is a lot for a little indie like this.

by Anonymousreply 592January 8, 2018 3:10 AM

[quote]Love Oldman and look forward to him winning at Oscars, but hope he'll maybe thank all of his wives and not just his 5th one.

Nah, I'm good...

Sam Rockwell is amazing in Billboards. Frances is her usual. The movie itself is a bit pretentious.

by Anonymousreply 594January 8, 2018 3:10 AM

Did Frances have a stroke? I hope she recovers.

by Anonymousreply 595January 8, 2018 3:10 AM

Where's part IV? Want to avoid what happened in the last thread.

by Anonymousreply 596January 8, 2018 3:11 AM

I'm still holding out for a nom and possible win for Michael Stuhlbarg. He was in three great movies this year.

by Anonymousreply 597January 8, 2018 3:11 AM

I’m guessing “Lady Bird” is winning BP. I won’t bother to watch the Academy Awards.

by Anonymousreply 598January 8, 2018 3:11 AM

Cmbyn will win the best makeup Oscar, for getting rid of Armie's neck beard.

by Anonymousreply 599January 8, 2018 3:11 AM

Barbra was gracious and lovely.

by Anonymousreply 600January 8, 2018 3:11 AM

Oh my god that’s funny about Streisand acting like some random person was able to approach her and whisper that she was the last female director to win.

by Anonymousreply 601January 8, 2018 3:12 AM

Streisand is so ugly

by Anonymousreply 602January 8, 2018 3:14 AM

Need Thread part 4!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 603January 8, 2018 3:14 AM

Signing off time for bed. Isn't Timberlake suppose to present something? Glad I'll miss that buffoon.

by Anonymousreply 604January 8, 2018 3:15 AM

Love Frances. She has no fucks to give.

by Anonymousreply 605January 8, 2018 3:15 AM

Are we calling it good with three threads? I'm okay with it, just checking so i don't have to watch a thread so i can read it on the toilet tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 606January 8, 2018 3:18 AM

Babs and Francis look fantastic - stop being assholes and picking on them because they’re women. I’m not hearing constant shade about GDT looking like a fat slob. It’s sexist pressure like this that makes women fuck with their faces.

by Anonymousreply 607January 8, 2018 3:23 AM

Who is this "Sheesha" do you mean Saoirse?
