Doctor Doing Meth

If you witnessed a "friend", who is a newly practicing medical professional, bumping meth on several occasions while out clubbing, would you report him? I've confronted him about seeking treatment, which he refused, saying he has it under control. It's not like he's a brain surgeon, but does work on patients.

by Anonymousreply 179January 21, 2018 2:11 PM

Many doctors are guilty of drug use, dentists are the worst from my experience. You won't get anywhere reporting him since he is doing this during non-working hours, you have no evidence it is affecting his work since you say you are a friend and not a patient or co-worker.

by Anonymousreply 1January 6, 2018 12:59 AM

I 've never known any licensed medical professionals so reckless as to publicly use illicit drugs. I would still report him even if nothing comes of your complaint, it will start a document trail that may save someone's life. You need to have clear conscious. His career will be a short one.

by Anonymousreply 2January 6, 2018 1:06 AM

Nobody likes a tattletale, OP.

I had a roommate who was a doctor. He had lots of doctor friends (all diverse) and they all did hardcore drugs and acted like they had it under control cause they knew how much to take. One of them gave me a lecture about how bad ketchup is (I use ketchup). He was hot so I listened and didn’t even roll my eyes at him. He ended up overdosing in heroin. Anyway my impression since is that drug use is big in m rival fields.

by Anonymousreply 5January 6, 2018 1:24 AM

There was some doctor at St Vincent’s in NYC who was a pioneer in AIDS medicine in the 80s. Once drug cocktails came out he got depressed because he liked the adrenaline rush of working in the midst of the crisis. He became a circuit party queen and got hooked on all kinds of drugs, probably meth too, and lose his license because he was selling drugs or prescriptions or whatever. Sad. He wound up homeless and burnt out.

My only dentist in NYC, for 30 years is in jail for selling meth and other drugs out of his Chelsea office. He also allegedly was into bestiality and child porn.

He was in prison as of summer 2016:

by Anonymousreply 12January 6, 2018 1:58 AM

I went to that dentists office as well, R10, and it was nasty when that all went down. Luckily my dentist had cleaned up his act way before this was all exposed in The NY Post etc.. Plus he retired right around that time. The entire office was tainted.

by Anonymousreply 13January 6, 2018 2:03 AM

Hes out now, based from this blog post. NYU is taking a big chance hiring him as a researcher. Or maybe he’s the research subject!

Michael R Barr 22.97 · Pacific College of Oriental Medicine As many of you may know, Gabe was released two weeks ago (1 entire year early-- thanks so all your letters, and a decent judge, I suspect) and is back in NYC. He is to be starting on a research collaboration with the NYS Psychiatric Institute (Columbia University) and, I expect, expanding to even more projects and soul filling goodness.

by Anonymousreply 14January 6, 2018 2:05 AM

r13 I don't understand your post?

by Anonymousreply 15January 6, 2018 2:13 AM

R15, my dentist practiced at the same office as R10s dentist. R10's dentist was the head of the entire office. My dentist only worked there part time prior to retiring.

by Anonymousreply 16January 6, 2018 2:20 AM

Meth is bad, but other “drugs” come from plants and are perfectly natural.

by Anonymousreply 17January 6, 2018 2:34 AM

I smoked weed with a psychotherapist at work in the parking ramp years ago. He was hilarious and very good at his job, but also very carefree. I'm thinking he was one of the few "shrinks" who was actually quite sane.

These professionals are all human too, they experience problems in life like the rest of us. Their jobs are high pressure/adrenalin surging situations. They think(like all others) that they are in control. They have more knowledge(and access to) drugs and their contraindications, however they fall like all the rest.

by Anonymousreply 18January 6, 2018 2:35 AM

Absolutely report it, OP.

by Anonymousreply 19January 6, 2018 2:39 AM

During my meth days over a decade ago, I met and had sex with a ton of dentists. Dentists and lawyers were highly represented in my sample.

by Anonymousreply 20January 6, 2018 3:09 AM

I knew Gabe (Ramon) Torres before his slide into addiction. He was such a dashing man in his suits. He was a quickly rise star in HIV medicine. With his addiction, he lost everything--his license, money, professional stature, reputation, freedom. It was so sad to see and read about.

I knew many who used meth. Only a few got that addicted, which is why I know there must be a biological component to addiction.

Glad to hear Gabe seems to be putting his life together again.

by Anonymousreply 21January 6, 2018 3:14 AM

I recall a doctor dying of a drug overdose at one of the clubs in the 90's or early 00's that led to the major crackdown at clubs.

The doctor was from Cabrini hospital and I think the club was Twilo

by Anonymousreply 22January 6, 2018 3:17 AM

I knew a bunch of gay docs and would see them high at the clubs years ago. Anesthesiologists have a high rate of drug use. Psychiatrists too.

by Anonymousreply 23January 6, 2018 3:18 AM

OP, you know by tattling on your friends, you're really just tattling on yourself. By tattling on your friends, you're just telling them that you're a tattletale. Now is that the tale you want to tell?

by Anonymousreply 24January 6, 2018 3:19 AM

Who exactly would you report a doc to? It would be your word against theirs.

by Anonymousreply 25January 6, 2018 3:19 AM

I do not know much about meth use per se, but I am a medical professional (yes, a doctor) who regularly partied with other doctors of all disciplines during my early years in Dallas. We ALL did a lot of coke. This was usually only on the weekends and not on weeknights - but on occasions we did that also. I do not know of any drug usage during business hours, but yes doctors take drugs. We are one of the few professions that rarely if ever require being drug-tested.

by Anonymousreply 26January 6, 2018 3:19 AM

Meth is ridiculously addictive and it eventually turns you permanently crazy. Report the doctor for the sake of the people he may harm.

by Anonymousreply 27January 6, 2018 3:20 AM

Think of it this way, would you want him treating someone you loved knowing he's on drugs? I sure wouldn't.

by Anonymousreply 28January 6, 2018 3:37 AM

Mind your own fucking business, OP.

by Anonymousreply 29January 6, 2018 3:40 AM

Yes.

by Anonymousreply 30January 6, 2018 3:45 AM

Yes. Report it so it’s off your shoulders.

by Anonymousreply 31January 6, 2018 3:49 AM

My young gay doctor friends (back in the 80s, 90s, thats my reference) were often also clubbers into party drugs. Thats the way it is.

by Anonymousreply 32January 6, 2018 3:52 AM

I know a doctor, dentist, and teaching anesthesiologist who all did party drugs and meth. Two of them had serious issues, the dentist’s resulting in his being permanently thrown out of the country, and the anesthesiologist’s resulting in losing his teaching job at a top ten rated medical school, his license, and his job. He’s in a massive depression now, and I sadly expect suicide soon.

He’s lost everything, including his home. He was reported by a colleague who had never actually witnessed him doing anything, and the resulting investigation ended his career. Anesthesiologists have major problems with addiction. As much as I suport my friend, everything they investigated and discovered was true, and there was a lot more they didn’t know about. I know for a fact he had patients on the table after three day meth and alcohol benders. He put people in mortal danger. Fortunately, they caught him before anything happened.

Meth is a terrible drug. The choice is yours OP.

by Anonymousreply 33January 6, 2018 4:00 AM

It is a mess when doctor and whole staff serious drug takers. The joint commission should do something.

by Anonymousreply 34January 6, 2018 4:03 AM

I avoided early week appointments with my dentist in LA after seeing him at the clubs Sarurday night,, high on tina and gyrating on top of speakers..

by Anonymousreply 35January 6, 2018 4:04 AM

So many docs abuse. Opioids. With Beth I’m surprised the don’t get adderall so they can be sure they are not ingesting something cut with drain cleaner.

by Anonymousreply 36January 6, 2018 4:07 AM

*meth

by Anonymousreply 37January 6, 2018 4:07 AM

Report him before the messy queen kills someone.

by Anonymousreply 38January 6, 2018 4:11 AM

Definitely report him. I was going to mention the doc I knew who went off the rails but I see Gabe's story was posted up thread. IIRC Gabe got lots of chances before it went to shit. Maybe your friend will clean himself up after getting reported. If he completes a drug program and cleans himself up all will be forgiven. I wished Gabe had done that when he first got caught and thus wouldn't have continued his spiral,

by Anonymousreply 39January 6, 2018 4:14 AM

For the life of me, I can not understand WHY meth is addictive at all. Different strokes for different folks as they say - but I hate the stuff. And taking it DAILY?? I can't imagine what a tweaked out mess you would become. Besides, how does a meth addict ever sleep?

by Anonymousreply 40January 6, 2018 4:16 AM

On the weekends in the early 2000's, Meth led to a huge influx of guys to the bath houses, particularly on weekends.

I too would go during a meth bender. I would see, talk with, and have sex with a married (to a woman) cardiologist there. He was high on meth too. He said his wife knew he had a meth problem and also had sex with men, but she didn't know he was spending his weekends at the bathhouse.

He loved to get fucked by all comers.

by Anonymousreply 41January 6, 2018 4:18 AM

Are optometrists real doctors? I once fucked a hot one on meth.

by Anonymousreply 42January 6, 2018 4:19 AM

R39 that's what addiction can do to a person. Gabe was obviously not thinking logically through any of it because his body just craved it.

by Anonymousreply 43January 6, 2018 4:20 AM

I did a threeway once with a dentist and his twinky fuck bud while totally tweaked. The dentist had a sling in his apartment and kept booty bumping the twink until the guy was out of his mind horny and we took turns fucking the guy,

Fun times but glad those days are long behind me

by Anonymousreply 44January 6, 2018 4:22 AM

There's a relatively famous gay doctor in NYC who used to pop ecstacy and snort K like they were candy when he went out dancing. He'd be smashed of his mind whenever I'd run into him.

He's older now and married. I assume his party days are over.

by Anonymousreply 45January 6, 2018 4:26 AM

The 30-something doctor who ran the urgent care around the corner from me died last year along with a drug buddy gal pal after getting a bad batch of some kind of meth or something. They didn’t find their bodies for a few days as they lay dead in his McMansion. Kind of shocking. He fixed my partner’s broken toe a few years back.

by Anonymousreply 46January 6, 2018 4:28 AM

I think OP is a narc and should stay out of this. You are all a bunch of narcs, really.

by Anonymousreply 47January 6, 2018 4:28 AM

R45 - ecstasy is fun and it wears off after 3 hours or so (brutal hangovers can ensue of course) - but meth lasts forever.. Well, days anyway. Not fun, not worth it.

by Anonymousreply 48January 6, 2018 4:30 AM

This thread goes to show that doctors are human too and get caught up in the same stuff non-doctors do.

Drugs have been such a big part of the gay world for so long, it's tough to avoid them completely.

by Anonymousreply 49January 6, 2018 4:34 AM

R10 I don't get why any health professional would end up selling drugs out of his office. Didnt he make enough money as a dentist?

by Anonymousreply 50January 6, 2018 4:36 AM

Yes. He's using illegal drugs and has people's lives in his hands.

by Anonymousreply 51January 6, 2018 5:20 AM

Can’t you extort him instead?

by Anonymousreply 52January 6, 2018 6:25 AM

the classiness of this thread is endless and everlasting

by Anonymousreply 53January 6, 2018 7:15 AM

I don't know that the board would do anything if it's just weekends or he isn't working. I think you would have to file a complaint as a patient or doctor/nurse that had firsthand knowledge that he was endangering patients/acting incompetent. I mean, you could call his work and give them a heads up and maybe they would do something about it, but more than likely they don't give a shit and just want to keep their job. If confronted, he could easily claim a jealous weirdo was making false claims against him.

by Anonymousreply 54January 6, 2018 7:22 AM

Report it.

by Anonymousreply 55January 6, 2018 7:30 AM

by Anonymousreply 59January 6, 2018 7:56 AM

How nice for R26. As the saying goes, "doctors bury their mistakes."

by Anonymousreply 60January 6, 2018 9:17 AM

Geez...Are there any gay guys that haven't done meth?

by Anonymousreply 61January 6, 2018 9:46 AM

R61: We've raised a generation of kids who are put on pills to control behavioral problems caused by a bad diet that the junk food industry has bamboozled us into thinking is healthy. To act as if gay men and gay men alone are the culprit for meth use is disingenuous.

by Anonymousreply 62January 6, 2018 10:55 AM

I've only heard of trailer trash and gay guys doing meth R62, it's hardly a straight middle-class party drug.

by Anonymousreply 63January 6, 2018 11:19 AM

R63 It seemed like in the early 2000s there was a swathe of the middle-class doing meth - more on a recreational level. Suburban, educated guys and girls getting messy on the weekend mostly.

by Anonymousreply 64January 6, 2018 12:13 PM

R58, videotape?

What decade are you writing from?

by Anonymousreply 65January 6, 2018 12:34 PM

OP, of course you report the doctor to his state's licensing board. Meth is not a pharmaceutical that the doctor is prescribing for himself. It's dirty fucking street drug that is from start to finish a criminal product. The manufacture is criminal. The sale is criminal. The use is criminal.

This is not about poor judgment on the doctor's part, it is about engaging in criminal activity.

by Anonymousreply 70January 6, 2018 1:47 PM

by Anonymousreply 71January 6, 2018 2:15 PM

Lmao! Having dated and befriended many Doctors I can tell you that a great deal of them do drugs. They are human beings after all.

by Anonymousreply 72January 6, 2018 2:18 PM

OP: I think this is overreaching and wouldn't report him. I would leave it to his professional colleagues, who hopefully are trained to recognize telltale signs of drug abuse and who may be on more sound footing, esp. if they think the welfare and safety of their client patients, and the reputation and integrity of their practice are compromised. If he's starting out, he's most likely joining a group practice. Just my 2 cents.

by Anonymousreply 73January 6, 2018 3:50 PM

by Anonymousreply 74January 6, 2018 3:51 PM

by Anonymousreply 76January 6, 2018 4:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 77January 6, 2018 4:14 PM

R75 I'm sure they can do drug tests.

by Anonymousreply 78January 6, 2018 7:30 PM

To the people that have taken meth in the past or are still taking it, what does it feel like and how come it's soo addictive? I don't want to try it, I'm just curious.

by Anonymousreply 79January 6, 2018 7:31 PM

R79, meth is addictive because you get a HUGE rush of Seratonin. It makes you energetic, focused, not tired, and eventually, quite thin.

I never got into smoking it, but I have snorted it (never again-by the way), and the other upside” is that you have AMAZING sex while on it. You can fuck for 48 hours straight, and that right there, can be highly addictive.

I never did it to the point where I ruined my looks over it, like many end up doing. And that’s just part of it. Nevertheless, I never lost my teeth, or ended up with unseemly facial acne, or whatever that is that happens to people’s faces.

OP, what your friends do on their own time is truly none of your business. If he develops a problem, be there for him and be supportive. Otherwise, stay out of it. You can ruin someone’s career, & being that he’s casually using, something like that could tip the scales and he could go off the deep end.

I had a good friend that died that way. One of her coworkers reported her for using, which she was. She was brought before a disciplinary board, and was instructed to enter rehab. She ended up overdosing instead.

by Anonymousreply 80January 6, 2018 7:48 PM

by Anonymousreply 88January 6, 2018 9:05 PM

OP, I'm an attorney and we have a high rate of drug and alcohol use in our field. Our Texas State Bar has an assistance program where you can anonymously report someone. They will then call the person and tell them they received a concerned call and ask that person if they need help. It is confidential for everyone. I put on a continuing legal education seminar every year for some attorneys I supervise and have had the assistance program speak to us. All of them are in recovery and some asked for help when they received the concerned phone call and others at least knew who to call when they were ready for help. Your state medical licensing board certainly has something similar. Doctors have to be licensed so there will be a licensing agency in your state. Meth, even recreational, is not normal for a professional. There is a lot of stress in his profession so I would report him and give him the chance to get help. The attorneys who spoke to us all thought they could handle it, but where also in a lot of pain. Don't wait till he hits rock bottom. Contact your state medical board and see if they have a program where it can be reported and dealt with anonymously before he receives an official complaint to the board.

by Anonymousreply 93January 6, 2018 11:00 PM

What a bucket of crap at R80. She OD'd all by herself. No one killed her by rightly reporting her. You sound like a typical addict yourself, TBH. Minimizing responisibility, manipulating facts and blaming others are the calling cards of addicts in denial.

To anyone telling OP to MYOB, I hope your high-as-fuck addict doc amputates one of your legs the next time you go in for a proctology exam.

by Anonymousreply 94January 6, 2018 11:20 PM

What r89 said. Drug use is very common in medicine and they have their own rehab treatment programs for doctors and nurses. They know the field is stressful as fuck and they won’t move to fire someone for a first (or second, or third) offense; they’ll get him the help he needs to get clean. There’s a shortage of health care workers and it takes years and years to train them so no one is interested in tossing them out unless the offenses are egregious or they’ve relapsed for the umpteenth time and it’s clear they can’t be trusted with patients. You’ll be doing this person a favor. Report it.

by Anonymousreply 95January 6, 2018 11:42 PM

I own a small business and we NEVER confront anyone about drugs use. We don't have to. The behavior of an addict alone is enough to fire them without much fuss--falling asleep on the job, poor performance, money missing, lateness, no shows....on and on. I don't know why more employers don't get this. They really don't have to go down the rabbit hole of accusing someone of drug abuse. Addicts are VERY clever and creative with their excuses: improper dosing of prescription drugs is a popular favorite, as is lack of sleep. And they act aggressively indignant (always a tell) at being accused of such an awful thing. Just don't go there. NO need. They WILL fuck up and fairly quickly. Warn them about lateness, or whatever infraction(s), and tell them if they are "late" again they will be fired. Done and over. So simple.

I messed around with a pediatrician that did meth. He seemed to have his shit together; He had a nice garden level condo in RIttenhouse Sq./Philadelphia and good teeth (not veneers.)

I tried smoking meth twice with him, I didn't like it. It made me horny, but I couldn't achieve an erection. I haven't used it since. I guess not everyone gets immediately addicted? I never cared for coke, either.

Now pot, pot is something I really enjoy, which makes me think I would easily become addicted to heroin.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

I think is issue is most first timers end up doing way too much meth. You don't need a lot. Usually you kinda go along and "keep up" with the tolerance built up guy who's hosting and providing. Viagra is a must for tops and you gotta take it first and see the effects before you start the meth

by Anonymousreply 116January 7, 2018 9:51 PM

"I think is issue is most first timers end up doing way too much meth."

Meth is the worst drug out there and causes the most trouble and pain. Any of it is too much of it. Just look at what you wrote, R116. You are really already in trouble.

Go get help and lay off the crystal.

by Anonymousreply 117January 7, 2018 9:57 PM

lol don't be a prude r117

by Anonymousreply 118January 7, 2018 10:03 PM

um. If anyone you care even remotely about is doing meth, there is one alternative. You step in and intervene immediately. Period. It only ends one of three ways: financial breakdown and devistation; health breakdown and devistation; or legal breakdown and devistation. Anyone who says any different is an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 119January 7, 2018 10:13 PM

R119 or you fuck them and enjoy before the breakdown occurs

[quote]It only ends one of three ways: financial breakdown and devistation; health breakdown and devistation; or legal breakdown and devistation. Anyone who says any different is an idiot.

First, R119, anyone starting a post with "um" should be slapped. Secondly, not everyone gets addicted to meth (or heroin, or cocaine, or any kind of opiod). You sound like the drug scare films from the 50's. Yes, it's addictive... to people who are pre-disposed to addiction. That's the real problem with all drugs, you don't know if you've got the kind of combintaion of physical and psychological makeup that makes you prone to misuse.

Fortunately, I found that although I really enjoyed meth and experienced a bit of progressive desensitivization so I could see how people get addicted, I had no trouble laying off it when my circumstances changed and I didn't have easy access any more.

You'd be far more effective at warning people off of it if you weren't so Chicken Little about it.

by Anonymousreply 127January 7, 2018 11:06 PM

Forget R80 and these others who want you to cover for this guy. He's putting people at risk.

by Anonymousreply 131January 8, 2018 12:30 AM

I've been a recreational meth user for 10 years.

Not addicted in the least, and my teeth are fine.

So mind your own beeswax!

Yep, all three of them.

So, what was so wrong with ketchup? At least I never heard of anyone OD'ing or going into fuckin' rehab because of it.

by Anonymousreply 134January 8, 2018 1:36 AM

Ah yes, the meth heads finally show up. R132 is particularly sad.

by Anonymousreply 136January 8, 2018 1:56 AM

I once did meth with a hot hairy Israeli OB/GYN in Brooklyn. That weekend was so hot that, years later, I still remember it fondly.

I haven't done meth in a decade now

by Anonymousreply 137January 8, 2018 3:16 AM

I’m a doctor in my 30s with many gay doctor friends. None of us do drugs (other than one who eats edible marijuana on his own time). Most gay doctors I know won’t smoke cigarettes or even take many sexual risks. We tend to be pretty careful with our health.

I’ve heard of the St. Vincents doctor and the dentist who ruined their lives due to addiction, and they’re infamous in the gay MD community. They are definitely the exception and most of us stay away from unhealthy habits.

Addiction is a disease. It is challenging enough to make it through medical school, residency and specialty training as a sober person; it would be extremely difficult for an addict to do so.

by Anonymousreply 138January 8, 2018 3:48 AM

I've noted over the years I've known and or met a number of M.D.'s - they fall into 3 or 4 categories, A few examples, the drugs and drinking of course, but then there's the Jesus jumpers and then the ones with God complexes. When you run into one who isn't any one of those you count your blessings.

Now, Anesthesiologists - a friend once worked with one developing an automated program for dosing. I worked at a pharmacy at the time and asked the pharmacist about some of the drugs. Serious fun could be had with some of them. But I never succumbed to the temptation.

by Anonymousreply 143January 8, 2018 6:12 AM

I never felt 'high' doing meth.

It gave me energy (but not a dirty speed energy) and there seemed to be a 'clarity', but never a feeling of being 'high'. I think that's where people get stuck, they don't feel messy on it, even though they appear so to everyone else.

by Anonymousreply 144January 8, 2018 6:30 AM

The fact that so many gay guys here have even tried meth proves gays can often be their own worst enemies.

by Anonymousreply 145January 8, 2018 7:04 AM

It's so easy to try. So why not? Live life and try not to fuck things up is the general rule. Personally I like the idea of it, but doesn't live up to my fantasies. Crash is way too hard and takes two days to recover

by Anonymousreply 146January 8, 2018 7:07 AM

And R146 is right on time to prove my point.

by Anonymousreply 148January 8, 2018 1:07 PM

Meth seems to be on the rise again, at least in NYC, from my observation.

by Anonymousreply 149January 8, 2018 2:59 PM

Pot, MDMA, LSD. There are many choices if you want to have sex fucked up.

But meth is not an option. Not cool. Not good. Not safe.

by Anonymousreply 150January 8, 2018 3:02 PM

I’ve never tried meth and I’m not a prissy pants. I’ve had plenty of wild sex experiences and went to plenty of cool clubs and parties in my time. Sure I drank, but I never touched drugs. Not every gay man does party drugs, sorry.

by Anonymousreply 151January 8, 2018 3:46 PM

R151 yup only the super trashy ugly ones OR super cool hot ones do lol so everybody but you

by Anonymousreply 152January 8, 2018 4:23 PM

Meth was big in the 00's. The gay community tolerated it because no one knew that it could lead to horrible addiction. Once we discovered that, gays vilifed it. Most people stopped using but those who found themselves addicted just spiraled downward.

I used it a few times but stopped when I realized that it just wasn't giving me the same intense feelings anymore. Plus the hangovers were horrible,

Sad to see this drug resurging now. It was a good decade of not hearing much about it.

by Anonymousreply 153January 8, 2018 4:31 PM

About ten years ago, there was a SURGEON who was in the middle of an operation. He left his patient in the middle of the operation to “cash a check”.

What if OP's acquaintance was not an MD, but rather in another medically related role, such as RN or some sort of therapist? I had an ex who was a physical therapist who basically told me "stay on my side of the street" when encouraged him to seek treatment for meth abuse. He replied that I didn't know what I was talking about, since he's dealt with doctors smelling of vodka. That's when I realize his weekend partying has impacted his cognitive abilities. Sometimes there's no point in reasoning with an addict and have to do the right thing.

It's not limited to the young gay guys R162, sadly if you attend any gay event you'll see plenty of older tweakers eager to "Party".

by Anonymousreply 163January 8, 2018 10:24 PM

I’m 47 and never touched it. I went to lots of parties going back to the early 90s when I was younger and was NEVER tempted to try it. Or any of the other shit the circuit queens were doing.

[quote]So many docs abuse. Opioids. With Beth I’m surprised the don’t get adderall so they can be sure they are not ingesting something cut with drain cleaner.

Adderall is not like meth r36. I've never tried meth but I have taken Adderall. No pleasurable rush from it, though it will make you awake and focused.

We are a very Puritan society. If Adderall gave that kind of pleasure rush they would not be prescribing it for anyone much less for children and they do give it to thousands of kids.

Is there any widely available prescription drug that gives the same rush as meth?

by Anonymousreply 167January 9, 2018 12:38 AM

UUUUMMMM... and you would be far more effective R127 if you showed you actually graduated from high school and knew that 50s is plural (a group of years) not possessive (since 1950 doesn't own anything). So until you know how to use an apostrophe or not, I suggest you keep your two-bit opinion to yourself.

by Anonymousreply 168January 9, 2018 12:58 AM

I agree with the other non meth folks, it just never interested me. I knew what it would do and was turned off. I was offered it back in the mid/late 90's often and always declined. These were professional upstanding citizens who were doing this shit. Their lives all went to hell for which I don't feel sorry for them. They knew what they were getting into I would like to believe. I stopped hanging with anyone who even did it once or twice and then stopped. Never trust a junkie. I always stuck to weed and beer. X in the late 90's.. Now I'm done. Natural selection takes out the trash...

by Anonymousreply 174January 10, 2018 11:35 AM

I've seen videos( not sure if it was YouTube) where these circuit queens were passing out in the street during a white party of some sort. Stumbling around on the verge of death doesn't found fun to me. I've heard from some that you have to know when to start switching up the drugs. Too much GHB, do a bump. To much meth, take an adderall...etc..etc...

by Anonymousreply 175January 11, 2018 5:32 AM

Yeah, meth and Adderall do the same thing really. GHB and K can definitely leave you in a bad place. The downers are usually worse than the uppers (when it comes to ODing and dying anyway) - yet the uppers give you one HELL of a hangover and the downers rarely do. If you want a drama/pain free life - just avoid all of the above LOL.

by Anonymousreply 176January 11, 2018 5:39 AM

I've done almost every drug, but damn if speed isn't the one I couldn't get enough of. I still dream about it. I wish I could find an unethical doctor who would prescribe Desoxyn.

by Anonymousreply 177January 21, 2018 4:10 AM

Outside of powder cocaine, I never could appreciate any form of upper. MDMA/Molly is amazing also (perhaps more so, but you are not functional socially like coke), but it has an even more brutal hangover. And even when I did appreciate either of them - I paid the price for days after, so they were never any issue from an addiction standpoint. I like the idea, but reality just isn't realistic in a world where you have a job and need to be productive 5/6 days a week. You feel invincible when the drug is working - but the hangover is such Hell that it more than negates the high. I am no prude and like to let loose on occasion, but would find a full fledged "habit" to be more pain than it is worth really. These drugs are best taken every 4 or 5 months or so - when you crave them and forget the Hellish aftermath.

by Anonymousreply 178January 21, 2018 6:29 AM

LSD is the only drug that calls for me to come back for another round. It is the best for sex.
