and Cornel is looking luscious in his black mankini!
Cornel Wilde in The Naked Prey is on TCM right now...

OMG thank you hunty!!!! Mmm mmm... Did he have to shave to wear that? Gay rumors?

I feel he sublimated his homosexual tendencies through his main d'oeuvre "Shark's Treasure" (Better than Jaws because it used real sharks!)

He looks like he might have smelled bad.

Watching that movie on TV when I was a kid was exciting and made me realize I like naked men. He does run nude in an early scene, but you see him only from the side and far away.

And unfortunately, he's wearing flesh colored underwear.

I had that same realization with "Robinson Crusoe on Mars".
Still not sure if he was wearing "nude" shorts but the long shot of him getting out of the pool always found me pressing my face up against the tv screen.

Paul Mantee's face was a little rough but with that lean, muscular body and hairy chest I wouldn't have minded being stranded with him for awhile on some desolate planet.

I didn't like how they actually killed animals back in those days when filming such scenes. So I couldn't watch it without getting upset over the deaths of the elephants. However, he kind of looked like Huge Jackman from what I saw.

Similar to the awakening some have watching Charlton in Planet Of The Apes.
I agree about the animals, upsetting.

Paul Mantee taking a bath on Mars.
And he must have persuaded that slave guy to bend over.

This is a fun little movie but I'm not sure why it was released on DVD by Criterion a few years ago. But then again, if movies like Armageddon and Tiny Furniture are deemed worthy of Criterion release I'm sure The Naked Prey deserves one too.

It seems schlocky at first, but it’s not dull and it has unexpected twists and turns, suspense. Amazing on location scenery too.

It was actually quite an ambitious movie for its time, especially starring someone who'd been a big star only a few years prior to this. (Remember his "I Love Lucy" episode?)

Cornel's biggest moment was in his flesh-colored tights in The Greatest Show on Earth.

Thank you for the Paul Mantee photos. Love his bush. That is a hot fucking man.

The elephant deaths weren't filmed for the movie. It was documentary/archival footage.
Anyway, it's been a long time since I've seen this, but I always remember being freaked out by how the people are murdered by being covered in clay and cooked over a fire. Ugh. And isn't someone killed with bees?

I watched. Probably haven't seen it in 20 years. Cornel was hot and had a nice big butt. Too bad about the flesh colored underwear.
Someone should make it with an actor who will go all out and really be naked.
I don't think I could watch the animal deaths again, though. I fast forwarded through as many as I could this time.
