911 on FOX Wed @ 9/8c

Who's watching?

Five minutes in and I'm hooked. Starring Connie Britton, Angela Bassett (who looks amazing), and Peter Krause.

by Anonymousreply 109January 5, 2020 7:48 PM

I'm recording it on the DVR. I'm in love with Connie. This is a show I'm excited about (because of Connie) and I want to relax in bed and watch it when I have time to fully enjoy it, tonight's not the night for that though.

No one has posted on that old thread since November

I’m also waiting to watch this over the weekend. I’m watching the Trumplosion on MSNBC tonight.

The New York magazine review is a rave.

by Anonymousreply 3January 4, 2018 1:23 AM

I used both the recent and archive search, and didn't find anything.

People on the other thread think FOX will cancel it, I think it's great so far.

by Anonymousreply 4January 4, 2018 1:24 AM

Nip/Tuck, Glee, American Horror Story

If you’re looking for “believable” TV, a Ryan Murphy production may not be for you

by Anonymousreply 9January 4, 2018 1:48 AM

Fuck, I like this show. Will definitely keep tuning in. Bassett and Britton slay.

by Anonymousreply 10January 4, 2018 2:01 AM

Krause is daddy af. But this show .....

by Anonymousreply 11January 4, 2018 2:15 AM

Krause's character annoys me; otherwise, I like the show.

by Anonymousreply 12January 4, 2018 2:22 AM

I found the young guy annoying. Also, are 911 centers and firehouses so glam? Who knew?

by Anonymousreply 13January 4, 2018 2:36 AM

They are in L.A.

by Anonymousreply 14January 4, 2018 2:42 AM

Does anyone else think Krause’s character is gay? It seems like his character is similar to John Cooper from SouthLAnd.

by Anonymousreply 15January 4, 2018 3:40 AM

I thought that, but then we had Angela Bassett's husband storyline, so I don't think they'd do two gay characters like that. Would be nice if he is though. I do think the young priest guy is gay, hope he comes back. Katy Perry ringtone? haha

by Anonymousreply 16January 4, 2018 4:02 AM

I loved John Cooper and SouthLAnd. Krause could be, they didn’t hint one way or the other. I assume the bald headed black woman is lez. I thought Angela Bassett’s home story was ridiculous. That seemed to fulfill the gay quotient requirement. Krause’s issue seems to be alcohol.

by Anonymousreply 17January 4, 2018 4:03 AM

I'm thinking Krause's problem has something to do with him messing up, and accidentally killing someone. May be why he was so hard on the young hottie.

by Anonymousreply 18January 4, 2018 4:05 AM

They should let the young hot guy keep his accent. Makes him hotter.

by Anonymousreply 19January 4, 2018 4:11 AM

I want to look as good as Bassett at 59!

by Anonymousreply 20January 4, 2018 4:22 AM

SO NIP/TUCK 2...

But, based on the pilot, I'm in.

by Anonymousreply 21January 4, 2018 4:29 AM

I didn't know the young guy was British. He does a good American accent. And he's pretty.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 22January 4, 2018 4:32 AM

I thought it was laughably bad. The dialogue stunk. The situations were not just unbelievable but beyond any realm of reality. Toilet pipe baby? Really? The way they were poking that kid's soft spot definitely gave it brain damage if it didn't already have it from drowning in shit water. Most of the characters were annoying, especially the younger fire fighter. You know, the one who proclaimed himself a sex addict to not get fired. And, the little girl, after all that set up, getting away by biting the guy on the hand? And, the snake? Screw them with their own axe handle. There's a reason they shoved this shit show to January.

by Anonymousreply 23January 4, 2018 4:43 AM

So far a good show.

by Anonymousreply 24January 4, 2018 4:48 AM

I don’t watch Fox. Did they hype this show? Because it seems to me that it got only minimal pre-premier publicity but maybe I missed it.

by Anonymousreply 25January 5, 2018 12:49 AM

[quote]I don’t watch Fox. Did they hype this show? Because it seems to me that it got only minimal pre-premier publicity but maybe I missed it.

They had promos for it a lot during their football games on Sunday for at least the last month.

by Anonymousreply 26January 5, 2018 1:21 AM

Britton's Alzheimer Mom is none other than Mariette Hartley.

by Anonymousreply 27January 5, 2018 1:27 AM

The premiere got an impression 1.8 in the demo (rising from The X-Files) and winning the time slot, including beating the usual winner, Modern Family.

It had tons of promotion and it all seems to have paid off. The premiere was definitely a hit. Now let's see if the viewers return for the second episode after sampling the pilot.

by Anonymousreply 28January 10, 2018 11:58 AM

This thread seems like the same 2 people just replying to each other, along with some guy who just keeps replying to himself.

by Anonymousreply 29January 10, 2018 12:04 PM

I used to watch it when it was called "Emergency."

by Anonymousreply 30January 10, 2018 9:44 PM

People in LA, how much does Connie Britton’s character’s apt rent for? Could she afford that on 911 operarator’s salary?

by Anonymousreply 31January 11, 2018 1:27 AM

Is it the new This Is Us? Not the first time I cried watching this show.

by Anonymousreply 32February 1, 2018 2:17 AM

Not the first time I rolled my eyes watching this show.

by Anonymousreply 33February 1, 2018 2:22 AM

What a duckfart. So he was responsible for his family. No wonder the guy is fucked up.

Buck is highly annoying.

by Anonymousreply 34February 1, 2018 2:32 AM

His family and 144 other people! No jail time? Really?

by Anonymousreply 35February 1, 2018 2:57 AM

Nobody knew he had those things in the apartment or that he was even using it.

The building wasn't up to code, so landlord didn't say anything about anything.

Presumably they never knew how the fire started.

by Anonymousreply 36February 1, 2018 3:14 AM

Very good episode. Wasn't the lesbian paramedic's girlfriend at the park Lily from The Devil Wears Prada? I didn't see her credited on IMDB.

by Anonymousreply 37February 1, 2018 11:46 AM

I’m liking this show, except for the rookie guy. He’s such an awful actor.

by Anonymousreply 38February 1, 2018 11:52 AM

I'm not a fan of this genre, so I guess I'm not a good judge of the show. I'm watching because I really like Britton, Bassett and Krause -- but man, are their talents wasted on this. I hope they're at least making good money. The scenes (and dialogue) between the rookie and Connie Britton's character are especially cringeworthy.

by Anonymousreply 39February 1, 2018 11:59 AM

Bassett is an Executive Producer. $$$$$

by Anonymousreply 40February 1, 2018 12:53 PM

And she has the worst storylines!

by Anonymousreply 41February 1, 2018 10:59 PM

R39 thank God they cut away when they did. I thought they were going to show them having phone sex.

by Anonymousreply 42February 1, 2018 11:05 PM

Yes!! The chick from The Devil...

I was trying to place her and couldn't, it took me a while to see it.

by Anonymousreply 43February 3, 2018 8:08 PM

So now Krause’s character is going to fall for Britton’s character.

by Anonymousreply 44February 8, 2018 4:26 PM

Yeah, they set that up with an anvil, R44. Thank goodness -- Krause and Britton had more chemistry in their brief scenes than Britton and the hunk have managed to muster up in six episodes.

by Anonymousreply 45February 8, 2018 4:33 PM

I've been wanting to see this. I think I can watch on HULU now.

by Anonymousreply 46February 8, 2018 6:34 PM

This week's episode was very good.

by Anonymousreply 47February 9, 2018 11:59 AM

I love this show. Its a soapy action dramedy! I love Connie Britton and Angela Bassett. The scene with Angela "arresting" everyone on the plane was awesome. My only complaint was the Kraus backstory. Thats a little too much (144 people!) and basically the same tragic accident that happened in Manchester by the Sea.

by Anonymousreply 48February 9, 2018 1:08 PM

I want to see Krause have sex

by Anonymousreply 49February 9, 2018 1:22 PM

Okay, I admit that I have never seen the show, but I have seen previews for it.

Does the show address how odd it would be to have a woman nearing 60 still working in LE on the street? It seems quite far fetched to me.

They did the same thing with Stallone and Burt Reynolds back in the day. Cops, unless they have risen up into the top brass, retire after 20 years. You just don't see old cops on the street.

by Anonymousreply 50February 9, 2018 1:42 PM

The rookie is the reason I don’t watch. Too much dumb, not enough looks.

by Anonymousreply 51February 9, 2018 1:48 PM

I marathoned this on HULU yesterday on a rainy, nasty day. I thought it was pretty good. Enough to keep me watching but I love "disaster" scenarios. The roller coaster and plane crash episodes were fascinating. The Valentine's Day epi had a great psycho bitch.

The rookie was very annoying but he appeared to improve somewhat. Love Angela Bassett. What's the deal with skipping 2 weeks and not showing again until Feb. 28?

by Anonymousreply 52February 11, 2018 7:56 PM

[quote] What's the deal with skipping 2 weeks and not showing again until Feb. 28?

The O-FUCKING-LYMPICS. All of network TV has decided to cave.

by Anonymousreply 53February 11, 2018 7:58 PM

Yeah,it’s extremely silly but fun and not at all boring. If you’re looking for cheap thrills this is a whole lot more entertaining than The Walking Dead or the last season of AHS.

by Anonymousreply 54February 11, 2018 8:02 PM

It reminds me of a 70's show like CHIPS. Love it.

by Anonymousreply 55February 11, 2018 8:13 PM

Or Emergency ^

by Anonymousreply 56February 12, 2018 2:22 AM

Like they do every Olympics, R53.

by Anonymousreply 57February 12, 2018 5:25 AM

Thanks a lot, big mouth at r48, not all of us have seen Manchester yet! And now I guess I don't have to. Peter Krause is the worst, his character is so gung ho and preachy, it's like one of those Kirk Cameron-esque movies about policemen who all learn a valuable lesson. And yeah, the firehouses in LA do not look like that, nor would Connie Britton's house. I still love this show though, I look forward to the cheesy accident/disaster in the beginning of each ep, my fave was the fatty falling off the roller coaster.

by Anonymousreply 58February 12, 2018 6:07 AM

Has this been cancelled yet?

by Anonymousreply 59March 14, 2018 10:23 PM

Is this Weds.?

by Anonymousreply 61March 14, 2018 10:38 PM

Yes, r61. Tonight at 9 eastern.

by Anonymousreply 62March 14, 2018 10:40 PM

The biggest fucking travesty Murphy ever committed was having day walker Connie Britton play exotic lovely tramp Faye Resnick. He miscast that show so woefully, now anything she does is better than that.

by Anonymousreply 63March 15, 2018 12:06 AM

It was just one show, r63. Hardly what anyone remembers her for.

by Anonymousreply 64March 15, 2018 3:17 AM

This show is not known to me.

by Anonymousreply 65March 15, 2018 3:19 AM

Omg! The mom is gone! Wasn't expecting that! Especially now that Buck decided to go all in with Connie's character and her responsibility. How convenient.

Those hoarders were beyond ridiculous.

They seem to run through catastrophes pretty quickly. I thought the elevator thing would take up most of the show.

by Anonymousreply 66March 15, 2018 4:05 AM

This show isn't fit to lick Emergency's boots.

by Anonymousreply 67March 15, 2018 4:19 AM

Peter Krause is daddy!

by Anonymousreply 68March 15, 2018 4:23 AM

The romance between old Connie Britton and the young guy is kind of creepy and cringeworthy and unbelievable, but the show is overall pretty fun to watch. It's also hilarious how they try to hag up Connie by messing up her hair and giving her crooked nerd glasses. And yeah, Bassett is great in this.

by Anonymousreply 69March 15, 2018 5:13 AM

It’s a live action cartoon but I don’t mind watching it. No way would social services allowed the brothers to go back in that house, I hope.

by Anonymousreply 70March 16, 2018 12:06 AM

Well the finale was kind of awesome!

I take back everything I said about Buck being a horrible asshole. He really had a fantastic transformation arc. Wow. I kind of love him now and felt super bad for him that Connie's character is leaving. I wonder if Britton will come back. Supposedly she only signed on for a year.

When the Captain and Angela Bassett were talking in the church, I actually had the thought that they would make a fantastic couple. Lo and behold, they went out on a date!! That's fantastic!

Good stuff overall. Happy it's coming back.

by Anonymousreply 77September 24, 2018 1:14 AM

Exactly my thought, R74!!!

He's a hottie.

Love that Angela's character watches Claws!!! That show is a hoot!

A lot of good stuff in this episode.

by Anonymousreply 78September 24, 2018 2:04 AM

Curious that Ryan Murphy did not write the premiere, especially introducing major new characters (Jennifer Love Hewitt, etc.). He wrote/co-wrote 3 episodes last season. Maybe he wrote another ep (tomorrow's?), but if he's not hands-on with this season of FOX's biggest show it will definitely show he little affinity he has for his former network(s). Interesting that FOX didn't come up with a better deal than Netflix, especially with 9-1-1 and AHS their two big hits atm. Hmm.

by Anonymousreply 79September 24, 2018 2:14 AM

Great show

by Anonymousreply 80September 24, 2018 3:00 AM

Nice ep! Love the new hot guy and Angela owned. J Love looked bad but I guess they're frau-ing her ala Connie last year, sort of love her character thus far.

by Anonymousreply 81September 24, 2018 5:04 AM

r81 = Ryan Murphy

by Anonymousreply 82September 24, 2018 5:13 AM

I’m in love with Buck, birthmark and all.

And the new guy is also sexy as hell.

That’s all I need to go back, thanks.

by Anonymousreply 83September 24, 2018 6:29 AM

I gotta watch it

by Anonymousreply 84September 24, 2018 8:08 AM

It was a good continuation.

Glad that pig-fucker boss died a horrible death.

The hottie new fireman has a sweet little kid. I hope Hen is alright.

by Anonymousreply 85September 25, 2018 4:45 AM

I can't imagine how much money FOX is spending on this. Ep 2 was Marvel-level effects... it must be in GOT territory, $15 million+ per ep minimum. Wow-worthy.

by Anonymousreply 86September 25, 2018 5:57 AM

Well, it's probably only gonna be a few episodes.

They'll go back to normal emergencies soon.

‘911’ Scores Series Ratings High With Season 2 Premiere

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 88September 28, 2018 4:52 AM

Glad this show is doing well. The characters are paper-thin but it’s extremely entertaining. The main star is the stunts which are executed very well.

I want to see Buck and the new guy Eddie as a couple. On the other hand I don’t think Angela and Peter Krause have much chemistry.

JLH was not annoying like I expected. Not her usual stripper hair and too tight clothes. She looked like a normal woman.

by Anonymousreply 89September 29, 2018 7:34 PM

I really don't care for the pairing of Athena and Bobby.

by Anonymousreply 90September 29, 2018 7:36 PM

That's because JLH now has middle aged-mom bod, r89. She can't pull of roles like The Client List anymore. She's a frau now.

by Anonymousreply 91September 29, 2018 7:43 PM

I like the show but I consider it a live action cartoon.

by Anonymousreply 92September 29, 2018 7:44 PM

Christine Estabrook is appearing next week!

by Anonymousreply 93September 29, 2018 7:46 PM

I usually like JLH (seriously!) but she looks like shit. I guess spawning hit her hard and/or they are intentionally making her look bad. I guess since they dowdy-ed Connie last season that's par for the course with the 911 operator character, but it was noticeable that she was not the way people know her... that said, I do hope they have a new 911 operator each season and that becomes a trope of the series. I'm sure FOX will announce a renewal imminently since the premiere eps were so fantastic and also a huge ratings hit. The new guy is cute and rivals Oliver for his sexiness, so great addition there. It's just NIP/TUCK 2 on steroids, but I kind of love that about it. I hope Murphy at least keeps a tertiary involvement with it, although since the premiere eps weren't even written by him I'm not too optimistic that he will be very hands-on. We'll see.

by Anonymousreply 94September 30, 2018 1:03 AM

Excellent season premiere

by Anonymousreply 95September 30, 2018 1:38 AM

by Anonymousreply 96November 6, 2018 5:59 AM

What part is JLH playing?

by Anonymousreply 97November 6, 2018 6:03 AM

R97, she's a 911 operator. hiding from her abusive husband.

by Anonymousreply 98November 6, 2018 6:14 AM

They had Jennifer Love Hewitt reference "Norman, Is That You?" I had to admit it was cute.

by Anonymousreply 99November 6, 2018 6:35 AM

Great show

by Anonymousreply 100November 6, 2018 5:32 PM

This show is the only network series I watch and I gotta admit I really love it. Ryan Murphy gave FOX a gigantic gift on his way out... this could run for 10+ years. I'm sure it will get more and more outlandish ala NIP/TUCK, but the formula works and the rescues are riveting. I hate procedurals, but this has a lot of heart and style (unlike NCIS/L&O/etc.). The gay old men story was heartbreaking, beautifully shot/edited. I actually really like J Love, though she started off a little shaky. Great match-up with her and the Asian guy. All the guys are super hot and Angela Bassett runs this motherfucker. She's so fierce. Perfect role/ideal fit. I hope Connie comes back this season for at least an ep or two... since they keep referencing her, I assume it will happen sooner rather than later.

by Anonymousreply 101November 6, 2018 10:23 PM

That story with the frau on the overpass was ridiculous.

Last week’s episode was much better. The horse story made tear up.

I like JLH and the Asian guy together and I’m glad we got Buck 2.0 cause I wasn’t gonna watch it if he went back to being a whore. The girl falling from the ceiling was taken directly from YouTube and a store security cam.

by Anonymousreply 102November 7, 2018 4:20 AM

I hate it when fans make videos teasing a romance that isn't actually in the show

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 103January 3, 2019 6:21 AM

Didn't see the video but Buck and the Latino guy have crazy chemistry.

The writer? Producer? Talked to TVLine about the scene where the lady looks at them both and says THEY have an adorable kid.

That was a gift to the shippers. I did like that scene a lot.

by Anonymousreply 104January 4, 2019 6:11 AM

R103, I love that YT video.

by Anonymousreply 105January 4, 2019 7:27 AM

Buck and Eddie make a more believable couple than the characters played by Peter Krause and Angela Bassett.

by Anonymousreply 106January 4, 2019 12:30 PM

The birthmark makes him look hot and tuff, I think he wears make up to cover it up. He’s very sexy!

by Anonymousreply 107January 4, 2019 3:14 PM

I just started watching this show. It's good, don't get me wrong, but a couple of things annoy the hell out of me. First, I love Connie Britton but her character is the most annoying character I've ever seen on any tv show. Her character is just too perfect and nice and sweet. What are her flaws? Every other character is flawed and multi-dimensional except hers. Also, we are following a fire department, but where are the fires? At least on another tv show Station 19 we get to see them fight fires. I'm on episode 6 now, not one single fire so far. Station 19 has a mix of fires and other emergencies, I wish 911 had that too. Like, I get that only some emergencies are fires, but why not have both, like Station 19? It's just weird watching a fire department not put out one single fire.
